Christmas 2014

This year Christmas just didn't feel the same.  I think it was because last year was PERFECT in my eyes. So, it's hard to live up.  But it was fun and we took some pictures to document.

 We did hold to our one tradition of going skiing on Christmas Eve.  Thanks to Grammie Nadauld, Mimi was warm and cuddled while we were on the slopes! One big surprise for the boys this year was season passes to Sundance.  They are thrilled to be able to go when ever they want!  LET IT SNOW, LET IT SNOW! :)

 We had dinner at Grammie and Grandpa's and read through the Luke 2 version of the Christmas story and then headed home.  The boys were excited to open up their jammies and
get right to bed (I wish)!

 They didn't wake up tooooo early.  About 6am.  They were so excited to see all the loot....

 Nate got a light saber that is really cool and makes sounds. 

He also got a leappad computer, some cloths, and some race tracks.

Sam got a NEW BIKE.. it was pretty cool, but because we had so much snow, he has to wait to really try it out. He got a cash register, some new cloths and some bay blades.

 Jake and Luke got some new socks and jackets, but their main gift were some SWEET TRAAX remote control trucks.  They are pretty fun to ride anytime and they are water proof, so the snow didn't hold them back.

 Mimi was a jem for her first Christmas... She loved it all and was thrilled about her Raggedy Anne Doll.  I had one when I was little and I just had to get it for her first dolly. :)

 Taylor got me a new IMAC computer and I got him some noise cancelling headphones and running gear.  It was a great Christmas and we had a lot of fun taking time off from school and work and playing with family.

Christmas with Cousins

We always have a great time with family.  Taylor and I have the best around.  We went to St. George the weekend before Christmas and got together with all the Heaton family.

 One of my favorite things about being in St. George is going to see the live Nativity at Tuachaan.
We were worried about it being full and not getting a good seat, so my mom and I took one for the team and arrived WAY early.  It was quite embarrassing saving 35 seats!!  But worth it. :)

 My mom always makes a fancy Christmas dinner, we do talents and we act out the Nativity.  It's a little Chaotic, but really fun.  Traditions, right?

 Another great thing about St. George, is that the weather is always FABULOUS!  we wore the kids out with hiking and playing at the park. :)

Now on to see the Nadaulds.....

 I think it's kind of the same in every family, right?  talents and then the nativity played out by the little cousins.  Our favorite in the Nadauld family is the donkey.  It's usually the oldest grandkid and this year it was Jackson.  So funny!

Baby Jesus is quite feminine this year, don't you think?  My angel baby did well and didn't cry through the whole thing.  Such a star!

Presents from Grandparents are the best.  We all got spoiled with BYU gear.  YIPEE.  We love that school.  The entire Nadauld clan has graduated from that school.  All 7 sons and their wives.  :)

I've been waiting 12 years to get the coveted nightgown from grammie.  Mimi finally got one.  Isn't she SOOOO  cute.  I love it!

Heber has lots of fun things and one of our favorite things to do is rent out the rec center and have a game of soccer.  Usually adults against kids and it's a pretty close game!

 

Mimi only almost got hit once, but as you can see... she wasn't phased.  She was bounced right to sleep in the baby bjorn.

 

This year, Grandpa made an ice skating rink in the back yard.  The kids loved it!  The last 2 years were too warm to make it and this year it was too cold to play too long on it.  Maybe next year we'll get the right mixture of cold and sunshine to enjoy it even more.  SO FUN!

December and Christmas in the Air

This December, came so fast!  We hardly did anything "TRADITIONAL."  But, I think all the traditions are just for me anyway.  My kids didn't seem bummed at all we changed it up! I feel like this December was just kind of chill and a lot of family time.  I love that.

Thanksgiving was the last week of November this year, and that makes for a quick turn around in getting the tree up!  Luckily, I have some good helpers.

Mimi's toys are the best to play with, especially when she's apart of the game.

I feel like this picture of Naomi below looks just like me at 6 moths.  Yay, I get a mini me... I hope! :) Her eyes twinkle.

We can't get enough of her!

This is basically every Sat and Sunday mornings at our house.  Taylor loves when they all climb in bed in the mornings.  I prefer to sleep in peace, but he encourages this behavior!  I really am so grateful for all I have.  This family thing is pretty great.

And, a few more of the Meems.  I love when babies play with their toes, only Nate and Mimi have been small enough to do it out of all my kids.  I grow some chunkers I tell ya!

My boys got a new piano teacher... again this year!  I hope this one will be consistent for the next few years at least.  I was on her waiting list for over a year, so she better be good!!! :)  Funny story, Luke above was playing his piece and when he noticed I was filming, he looked over and gave a head nod.  SO TYPICAL Lukie.  Such a show off. :)  Jake of course forgot to practice his piece, but got it down perfect in the 10 minutes before time to go!  silly boys.

This is Sam's class leading the sing a long in school.  He begged me to come watch (even though parents weren't invited, just for the school) and then he wouldn't even look at me while I was there.  My shy kid, who really loves attention, but would rather DIE than show it.

We get to have Breckon up here again for school at BYU and his family trekked up to get him settled.  Luckily, we had a huge snow storm and the kids were in heaven, building igloos and sledding.  Little lily was Frozen!

So glad Breckon is back up here.  He is the big brother Jake and Luke always wanted!!  He is the best.  And, the little boys love him too.. as you can see. :)

And Heather got Mimi to take a binky for a minute and we had to take a picture!  Those binky faces are the cutest, and I'm afraid she will never take to it.  It's been 4 months now and I still give it to her everyday without fail and she still can't hold it in for longer than 5 seconds.  UGH.  (I like binkies)

Thanksgiving 2014 BAR 10 Year

Every Other year we go to my Ranch for Thanksgiving.  I love it, because there are no guests and all my family.  We get the best of being at the ranch.  This will be a load of pics.  Get ready, set, GO....

Lets start off with the gang...
and then lets move to the food.....

 We cooked a jalepeno turkey, a smoked turkey, a ham,  barbeque ribs, and a deep fried turkey... WE LIKE MEAT in this family!!

 The kids could not wait to start to eat.  We got a quick picture and blessing before the feast began.

And then some fun activities.....

 Hunting of all ages and all kinds of animals... they caught and ate, a rabbit, a quail and a snake.

 Riding machines to a heart's content.......

 Horse Back riding.....

 Hiking....

 And finding indian hyrogliphs (spelling), and cool arrowheads (actually, just Colby finds them. He is a magnet for them!)

 Sitting on cliffs and relaxing....

 And repelling... not very good pictures of this.  My niece got more and I haven't gotten them from her yet.

But the best part about Thanksgiving is hanging out with Family.......

 Our little Chicken enjoyed her first trip to the ranch!
