What you find out when your kids take the camera (viewer discretion advised)

(Disclaimer: all of the pictures posted on this post were taken by Maxwell)

Lego Indiana Jones and the golden Monopoly piece

Indiana Jones and the Monopoly piece on the Black Pearl

Indiana Jones swinging in for a landing on the side wing of the
X-wing (Star Wars)

Indiana Jones Swinging in on our curtains

And finally: Indiana Jones running over a Storm Trouper!

When Indiana Jones Meets a Polly Pocket!

Lonely man in a doll house. . .

Along comes Polly. . .

Well, it could be CPR? a Casual Greeting? Honestly, I don't know what this means!

Maybe Addie can tell us

She's thinking.

Exactly what I thought!

And what about these, you ask? I don't know either. Nor do I understand why all little 6 year old boys like to laugh about all the gross stuff, like boogers, bottoms and everything else that belongs in the privacy of a bathroom.

Conclusion: find out what is really on the minds of my creative munchkins.

Sunday Afternoon

A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of la Grande Jatte.
This is my favorite painting.
I thought it fitting to include here with other happy Sunday rituals.
I conveniently leave out pictures of pre-Sunday events.
I'm not exactly sure the peace and stillness of my favorite painting could be replicated with our Sunday Morning bustle.

Ahhh, Ice Cream mashed together with other High Fructose Corn Syrup Concoctions for a delicious "Sunday" Afternoon. WE LOVE the Cold Stone my dad made! It totally worked and our friends thank us again and again. So do our Children.

Happy Sunday afternoon!

Three in one room? Yep! and it's working. . .

Because Elle Noelle sucks her thumb! I love this baby. And I'll take the braces.

. . . and next Sunday. . . Mike speaks in our ward! Yipee. A daddy at church with us. (except in my ward which is full of residents and med students I don't get any empathy--I do admire those doctors' families)

On growing up a little more

"Um? Dad? I'm not so sure I like this new stuff. . . "
(Elle trying new cereal--we curbed it for watermelon, a much better fit)

She likes the Johnny Jumper!

6 Months old
and likes the grass too. and the sticks. and the ANTS!

This is how deliberately my Adeline (Type 4) rides her bike--Stoically for sure.
She didn't miss a turn (at least without very perfectly falling over like laying her bike down on its side as to not get hurt too badly)
--she even makes that look perfect :)

And this is how my fabulous Type 3 rides his bike. And you better watch out 'cause he's really that amazing at it too.

Gratitude

Today, I'm grateful. Grateful for peace and joy. Grateful for sunshine, for my childrens efforts and urgings. I'm grateful for my husbands time, his push forward and happy energy to move onward and upward. I'm grateful he told me today we all just need to be less serious about each moment. (Serious moments are familiar to me). And I'm grateful to God who loves His children. I'm thankful to have endured with friends some very dark moments where we felt unknown to our creator and then to find out after a good struggle that He knows us, and is truly and intricately involved in our futures and happiness. And I'm am so thankful for moments. Moments that linger, moments that fleet, moments I want to savor that move away too fast and moments that thankfully end and don't come back. And I'm so thankful for a daughter who sucks her thumb and loves to be held and for a son who tells me exactly what is bugging him and requires me to tickle his back for 6 songs every night. And for my Adeline who reminds me about being right and wrong, what is black and white and that "yes" should be my answer a whole lot more than "no". In all, I'm thankful I can cry today for the moments come and moments gone and for my blessings that I recognize better today than I did yesterday. And especially for the light that most assuredly comes. Because no one likes the dark--not even a grown up mommy.
