We had a great Halloween! The kids have been looking forward to it for a long time, so when they woke up this morning and I told them that today was the big day, they were sooo excited! I quickly realized that I should have saved that exciting news for later on because they drove me crazy asking me every few minutes if it was time to go "twick-oh-tweeting" yet. Jaylee was a beautiful bride. All month long when people would ask her what she was going to be, she'd tell them "I'm getting married for Halloween". She's so funny. Bretten decided to be Dumbo. I had a cute pirate costume for him, but he was tired of wearing it from all the other Halloween things we've dressed up for. Kaysen was a Pooh bear bumble bee. His costume was really cute and cozy and it had a big padded bear belly. He seemed to disagree with what I thought was cute; probably because he could hardly move in it, so toward the end of the night I changed him into Bretten's old pumpkin outfit and he was a lot happier. I walked around the block with my kids so they could go trick-or-treating and other than a few dogs scaring Jaylee to death, we had a fun time. I was hoping they wouldn't want to go to every house (because as you probably know, trick-or-treating with kids is a very S-L-O-W process) so I was pleasantly surprised when Jaylee announced after just a few blocks that she was done and ready to go home. I wasn't gonna fight her on that one! I think they had more fun answering the door and handing out candy to all the other neighbor kids anyways! We actually got some trick-or-treaters this year too. After 5 years of living in apartments and kid-un-friendly neighborhoods, it was nice to finally have people show up to our door. Well, that was our exciting Halloween! Hope everyone else had a great time too!

Kaysen is getting so big!

Once again, we had a nice day today! (yeah!) I keep telling myself "this will be the last day of good weather, so we better take advantage of it", but it keeps happening, which is a good thing. I was running out of ways to entertain the over-energetic Kaysen, so I finally pulled out Bretten's rocking horse and put Kaysen on it. He went crazy! He caught on right away and put his hands on the handles and rocked himself crazy! I was holding onto him at first, but quickly realized he didn't even need me. It was a bitter-sweet moment for the fact that he could do it by himself, but sad to see him growing up so fast and not needing me by his side all the time. Jaylee and Bretten kept themselves entertained by racing their cars down the driveway for an hour. Kaysen watches them with such fascination and you can tell he wants to join in on their fun. It'll be fun when he can, but I don't want it to happen too soon. I love having my sweet little baby! (I can't wait til we can finish our yard. The kids don't mind the dirt though! haha!)

Halloween Traditions...

It has been a tradition for us to bake sugar cookies (for just about every holiday) and decorate them. My kids love "helping" and love decorating the cookies. Even more though, they LOVE eating their finished product! We baked these cookies on Monday for family night and took them to some of our neighbors/friends. As you can see the kids really enjoyed themselves! The thing with kids though is they lick their hands and fingers and candy while decorating and take a nibble of the cookies here and there, so I had to pretend that I was using all of their awesomely decorated cookies to take to their friends, but I'm pretty sneaky and managed to exchange theirs for some "uncontaminated" ones...haha! Jason sure enjoyed the contaminated ones though when he got home from work!

More Costumes!

By the time Halloween is over, I feel like we have dressed up a thousand times for different events. Don't get me wrong, it's fun, but I must say that I will be more than ready to pack up all the Halloween stuff tomorrow night after the kids wear their costumes one last time. Once again, here is Jaylee all dressed up for costume day for pre-school. She was a beautiful princess!!!

Bretten proves his unique sleeping ways yet again!

I know I just made a post not too long ago about Bretten's strange sleeping habits, but I couldn't pass up sharing these. He once again proved that he is a very unique sleeper! Bretten was just sitting at the counter eating his sandwich and decided he was done for the day! The last one was taken tonight. He came up to me and said "I want to snuggle with you Mommy" so I pulled him up on my lap and asked Jason to get me a story to read him, but he was out before Jason could even get me a book!

We love having Daddy home more!!!

Good morning Daddy! The kids love snuggling with Dad when he is home in the morning.



Jason built the kids this awesome hut. He even set his laptop up in it so they could watch Peter Pan! The kids were so into it that they wouldn't even come out for a picture!

As most of you know, the main reason we moved to Vernal was so that Jason didn't have to work 6 days a week any more. He still works a lot of hours, but he gets 2 1/2 days off every week now. The last few weeks were crazy because the other pharmacist that Jason works with had some medical problems with his daughter, so Jason worked for him and did 12 hour shifts for 2 weeks in a row, so he finally caught up on his days off this last weekend. We had him home for 4 days straight. It might not sound like much, but if you know what we've been through this last year (only Sunday off every week) then you know that it is a major change. Anyways, the kids, and me, love having him home more.

Kaysen's First Tooth!!!

This teething stuff will probably get repetetive, but I just couldn't resist posting Kaysen't first tooth. It's not even all the way up yet, but just the fact that you can kind of see it is so exciting to a Mom! Kaysen is 9 months old and just barely getting his first and only tooth...no second tooth in sight...just 1 lone ranger!!! Anyways, brace yourself for many more photos of teeth because I'm sure the others wont be too far behind and I'll be here to photograph every new smile with them!!!

I saw these "growing animals" in the clearance cart at Smith's the other day and it totally took me back to my own childhood memories of when my brothers and I used to go crazy over those toys. So I couldn't resist buying them and forcing my kids to relive my fun memories. Lucky for me it wasn't pure torture and they actually did enjoy it! Now I want to find one of those colorful rock crystal garden things that you grow...do you know what I'm talking about???...well, I know I'm getting way ahead of myself now. My kids probably wont even be old enough for those for another 5 years....but hey, I guess I never grew out of them!!!

Costume Parade...but no parade!

We were suppose to have a costume parade for our neighborhood today. I got the kids all dressed up and we decorated their bikes and the wagon (for Kaysen), but about an hour before this was all to take place, it got really windy and a storm blew in. By 3:30, the time this was all suppose to take place, it was thundering and lightning and hailing outside. The kids weren't too happy about that and the only thing that made them cheer up is when I told them we could go say hi to Daddy at work and get some painting and coloring books. So, I guess it wasn't a complete waste of a day!

Crazy Hair Day at Pre-school!!!

Jaylee goes to pre-school two days a week, Tuesday and Thursday, and this month, they have assigned certain things to each day, like wear as much orange as you can, wear as much black as you can, wear your costume day, etc. So, Thursday was crazy hair day and we're suppose to focus on using descriptive words while we help our child decide what to wear or what to do. Well, I was trying to get Jaylee so excited about "crazy, weird, fun, exciting, frizzy, funny, smells good, sparkly" hair day, using all the words I could and telling her and asking her for any ideas of what we could do, but she just wasn't digging it. She loves having her hair done, (don't get me wrong, she hates the process, but she loves to have it done and "looking like a princess" she always says), so she wasn't amused that I told her we get to do something different and crazy. She actually started crying because she thought I was crazy or something. Anyways, I said fine, we don't have to do it. I sat her down on my bed to finish doing her hair and Jason just got done taking his vitamin or something and had this little Dixie bathroom cup and I motioned to him to hand it to me and I put it in the middle of Jaylee's half pony-tail without her knowing! Don't ask me how that worked because I was laughing and thinking she was gonna get mad at me cause she knew something was up, but nope! She didn't even know. I even took some pictures of her and showed her and she still didn't notice anything was up with her hair. I finally took her and showed her in the mirror and at first she wasn't really excited about it until Jason told her how cool she looked. So, yes, she went to school with a bathroom cup in her hair!!!

Flaming Gorge Fun!

My parents came down for a quick visit on Sunday night. We had a good visit and it was fun to show them where we live. On Monday, we drove up to the Flaming Gorge Dam and then hiked down to the river below. It was a beautiful day and the scenery was amazing! The kids had fun throwing rocks in the river too. Bretten kept picking up these huge rocks and putting them back behind his head to throw them, but when he tried throwing them, they were so heavy that they barely cleared his head. We stopped and had lunch at a friendly little restaurant at the Lodge. It was a lot of fun and it was great to have Grandma and Grandpa here.

Who hates Throw-Up? Me!!!

On Saturday night, Bretten was complaining like he didn't feel well, so I put on Care Bears in my room and layed him down on my bed. He fell asleep quickly and a few hours later I heard some weird noises, like he was choking, so I ran into my room to find him throwing up all over. I yelled for Jason and he helped me clean up and get Bretten bathed. Right when we got him dressed again though, he went at it again. Luckily I was in the middle of laying down a painters drop cloth, so he hurled on that instead of the carpet. I didn't know if it was the stomach flu or something he ate, so we laid down another painters drop cloth on the floor and then had him and Jaylee lay on it (I was scared Jaylee would wake up throwing up too). They went back to sleep, but Bretten had a long night of throwing up and we only had to change the plastic drop cloth a few more times; the rest of the times he made it into the bucket. Anyways, it wasn't a very fun night, but luckily nobody else got sick. I bought the painters drop cloth to drape over my table and furniture so I could let one of those bombs off in the house that kill spiders, but it was well used for this too. I reccomend having some on hand for such occasions.

Bretten and his weird ways....

Out of all my kids, Bretten has always been the funniest when it comes to sleeping. Ever since he was a little baby, when he gets tired, he falls asleep Anytime- Anywhere! The other night he fell asleep on the stairs and it was really funny because he just had his leg propped up on the banister like he was as comfy as could be. The other pictures are just random ones of him sleeping throughout his life. (And yes, he really did fall asleep upside down on the coffee table)
