Father's Day

We had a wonderful Sunday celebrating and loving Joe!!

McKinley and Kylie were up so early, excited to give him his gifts and make him a special breakfast of biscuits and gravy. They sure love this guy!
The girls were excited to wear their daddy's favorite color of dresses- RED! McKinley sang a few Father's Day songs in Sacrament and was very proud. They also each made things for their dad in their classes. McKinley answered questions about her dad and it was really funny!
That night we had our friends the Meng's over for dinner! We ate yummy smothered pork chops, mashed potatoes, homemade rolls, salad, and grilled corn on the cob- wow! We then had Oreo cheesecake for dessert. It was really a great day and evening to celebrate our Dad!! He is so great and we have LOVED having him home more this month and will miss this daddy time when he goes back to working full-time. Happy Father's Day sweety!! We of coursed missed being with our dad's on Father's Day and are so grateful for them!

More Swimming

I'm sure there will be plenty of swimming posts this summer since we go a lot! But this one was particularly fun! We were invited by one of McKinley's dance friends, Gabby, to her house for a big pool party! There were lots of friends from dance class there too. Her mom was the best host with pizza, chicken wings, fruit, chips, drinks, and treats for everyone. Their pool is absolutely amazing and the kids had a blast! McKinley loved the water slide so much!!
Kylie, just a week ago, decided she actually likes getting in the pool and kicking around in a tube. Yeah Kylie!

Daddy Time

Last week was Kylie's turn to paint and build her piggy bank with Daddy. She has been getting allowance and paying her tithing so she needed a compartment piggy bank. She had fun with her dad!
We love how when she is concentrating on something she sticks out her tongue.
Last Friday evening, Joe and McKinley rode their bikes to Walgreens down the street to pick out a treat. McKinley had a blast going on a special date with her dad. Kylie and I were able to work on colors, do puzzles, and read books while the two of them were gone. We then all ate our treats and watched a movie together. We love all this family time we have been having!!

Oh Boy!

Can you believe it?!? We are expecting a BABY BOY November 13, 2011.

We told our families that we were expecting another baby over Easter weekend by having the girls wear these shirts we made. (And by we I mean, I helped a little but Camille did most of the work!) We obviously didn't know what we were having then, that's why the onesie is a little girly!!
Family and some friends have known for a while that I am pregnant but we waited to post it on facebook and our blog until we knew what we are having! And now we do!
Joe thought we were having another girl so he was SO surprised and excited to find out he is having a SON!!! As my sister-in-law Tasha put it, we have got to pass on that masculine jaw line to someone!! He already has dad's head which was measuring more than a week ahead of schedule! :)
At first I felt like I didn't have a feeling of what the baby was going to be. Then we started thinking of boy names and I just felt like it would be a boy! I am so excited to have my feeling confirmed!! Two weeks ago at my doctor appointment my doctor listened to the heartbeat and said, "Wow, that is a definitely a boy heartbeat." It was and still is a lot slower than the girl's heartbeats were.
We are so excited for another baby and are thrilled that everything is going well! I am 19 weeks along and have had no complications. Everything measured perfect today- the bones, the heart, the brain, the kidneys, the umbilical cord, no cleft lip, he has 10 fingers and 10 toes, and his little profile was so dang cute! The girls are excited for a baby brother. Kylie was convinced it was a girl but McKinley told her that having a boy would be fun because then someone could play the prince while she is the princess. :)

Well, we have a lot to do now- come up with a BOY name, paint over the pink wall in his future room, buy new baby boy bedding, get rid of A LOT of girl clothes, move the two girls together in a room, and buy baby clothes and all the accessories. The girls were spring/summer babies so we will need some more baby wintery things with this one! We are really so excited! A BOY, wow!!! Saying "HIS" and "HIM" is just so foreign, but I love it!! I know this is weird, but I have had my family planned out in my head for a long time and it is following my thoughts exactly! :) Now the big question is- will he look like McKinley or Kylie?

The Sacrament

This story is too funny not to share; well at least we think so.

Last Monday night we did a family home evening lesson about the sacrament. We briefly described the sacrament bread representing Jesus' body and the water representing His blood. We definitely tried to emphasize the "represent" part, that we need to be thinking about Jesus while partaking of the sacrament on Sunday.

Well this Sunday the bread was passed and McKinley commented about how this represents Jesus' body. Point 1 for the parents! However, as the water is passed to her she presses the little cup to her lips, looks up at us, and says (in a slightly creepy voice of course) "It's like I am drinking Jesus' blood!" Parent Point taken away! Joe and I just stared at each other.

Are you kidding me? Who is this girl. I guess we better lay off Twilight as bedtime stories from now on. :)

Friends

It has been hot so we have been swimming with friends a lot! The other day we were at a neighborhood pool for 4 hours then went to Cafe Rio and Yogurtland with friends. We have great friends and I love watching my kids have fun with their buddies! And we of course love visiting with our friends as well!

Joe was pretty much super dad at the pool! The kids loved being carried by him back and forth across the pool.

Shay and Kylie- these two were the greatest of buddies! They both love to snack and hang out by the pool rather than actually in it!

So many fun friends! I am sure Cafe Rio and Yogurtland appreciated when we left! :)

Kiera was so nice to Kylie all day. Kylie loves to have an older buddy who just caters to her and Kiera did just that! :)

Sisters

These girls have so much fun together and have quite the imagination! Their favorite things to play right now are "mommy and sweety", baby, princesses, doll house, doing art projects, riding bikes, and swimming. They love to dress-up and they love to pretend! I love watching them have fun together. They are such great friends. I love how Kylie looks to McKinley for ideas, for fun, and for help. How great to be sisters!

McKinley's Dance Concert

Our cute little dancer had her 4th recital this morning! She was so excited!! Before she went on she said, "I am so excited!!" I asked her if her tummy had butterflies and she said, "Butterflies? No. I just get the giggles when I am excited to go on stage!"

Her class did a tap dance to "Raindrops keep fallin' on my head". She did a wonderful job and smiled big! She loves performing and we are so proud of her. We were actually able to watch her dance twice. She had her dress rehearsal last night where we video taped and took pictures. Then today we just enjoyed her cute performance!

Kylie was such a supportive sister. She is so excited to be in dance class in the fall and told us this was her recital, she is wearing sparkle dance shoes, she loves Ms. Kim, and she is pretty sure that was her ribbon. :)

We may have forgotten to give her flowers at her last dance recital and she has not let us forget in these six months. So she was very excited, and pretty much expected, to receive flowers from her daddy.

Memorial Day Weekend

This weekend Alysha and Jesse and Jenny and Trevor came to visit us!! Jesse and Alysha had a friend's wedding and Jenny and Trevor came down for Memorial Day weekend.

They both arrived Friday night and then Saturday while Jesse and Alysha were at the wedding we went swimming. Then we all met up downtown at Serendipity for yummy snacks and ice cream. It was really good and we definitely ordered plenty of food! That night Joe and Trevor went to Buffalo Wild Wings for UFC fight night while Jenny and I shopped around Fashion Show Mall. Jenny even bought the girls their very own purple sparkle nail polish! We then had dinner at home and hung out with the girls. Jenny is such a big help with the girls and housework. After Jesse and Alysha got back we all watched I Am Number 4 and laughed together lots!
Sunday we all went to church together, took naps and relaxed, played Bocce Ball at the park, had a BBQ at home, and played games. I sure love hanging out with my sister and cousin, and of course their spouses. We have a lot of fun together and they all love our kids so much!
Monday morning Lysh and Jesse had to leave early but Trevor and Jenny stayed for the day. Joe and Trevor went golfing in the morning and then we all headed to the pool for a while. After going to Zaba's for lunch we went to the outlets and had fun shopping together!

We sure love having visitors! It was fun to have Alysha and Jesse come stay with us while attending the wedding and we loved having Jenny and Trevor come visit us for the weekend!! Thanks to Jenny for helping out so much! Love you all!
