What's more interesting than catching up with an old friend?? 

Catching up with a good old friend! Dur.... (ok, that was quite lame). 

I told Mike that since he was visiting, I'll drive and go pick him up. But he didn't believe that I could drive now... and furthermore, I think he didn't believe that I could drive safely. So he decided to come pick us up in his rented car instead. 

It's good that he lives nearby... In Notting Hill, just opposite his work place. Oh, did I mention that he's down here for training? - for a good 2 weeks! :D 

We caught up over the weekend for lunch and coffee... He wanted to have something Asian, so we brought him to Monk & Me @ Camberwell. 

It was good seeing Mike again, after like 5 years?? He still looks the same, and definitely, still acts the same... still as funny as before! More importantly, he still drives like a Malaysian!! SCARYYYYYY!

After lunch, we proceeded to have coffee @ Koko Black on Burke Road. Mike insisted that I snapped a picture of the drinks as he thinks they are too nice to consume! 

Mike met Jon and they couldn't stop talking about sports *yawnn* Yeah, they're both sports freaks! Hehehe... He joined us for a game of Wii too~! I soooo should have recorded the session, and post up the "kiasu" videos of him! Some things just don't change, aye? 

All in all, I had a good weekend... Met up with Mike, went to the city, and bought Jon's pressie. Found myself a nice Veronika Maine dress for work too. Met up with Lely and Lien as well, but forgot to snap pics! But I'm sure there's a next time before she leaves for the ship again... and of course, the best part... NO WORK~!!!

A very Happy Belated Birthday...

I realised that I haven't been blogging for awhile... I have heaps of pics to update, but have yet found the time to actually sit down and pen down my thoughts. Barely have time to breathe, really...

We celebrated Jon's birthday last week, and it was definitely worth blogging about. hehehhe... 

We celebrated his birthday over the weekend with his family. Went to Cookie in the city. I never knew they served food. The only time I've been to Cookie is when it's late at night... and it's a bar. But yeah, we were surprised to find that the food is actually quite yummy~! The menu's sorta fusion.... filled with quite an amount of interesting dishes. 

I highly recommend it to someone who's looking for something different. I'd definitely head back one of these days, when we happen to be in the city again. :) 

And yes, I finally got to wear my Cue dress. Haven't really had a chance to wear it since I bought it few months back. I bought it, thinking I'd be able to wear it to work, but it's sorta like a satin-like material, and everyone in the emergency department's sorta casual... so...

But once I get back to Monash, Clayton... the dress should be able to make a comeback.

Then I bought dinner for Jon @ 3 Station Pier, Port Melbourne. It was a surprise for him, but I think he kinda figured it out, cause he said I sounded really suspicious the whole day. And I guess I was pretty crap a liar... cause I didn't quite know how to dodge his questions. They were flying towards me like bullets ;( 

The view from the restaurant was good :) We were seated facing the waters... and could see the Spirit of Tasmania amongst other ships and boats and ferries... 

Jon probably thought his birthday celebration was over... when I drove home from Traralgon after work that night, and counted down to his birthday with little Remy. I bought a little cake, to share amongst us. Of course, Remy had a slice too!!

My little boy absolutely loved it, he gobbled his piece of cake up, and licked the plate clean!! Like, absolutely spotless!!

Daddy liked it too... but I think he liked the idea of spending his birthday with his "family" more than getting a birthday cake. 

It was a good day for us, no... scratch that. It was a good weekend, leading up to his birthday. He got his Moleskine diary *yes, I had to climb mountains and cross streams to find it for him*, his new Crumpler bag, his Operation game.... (no wonder I'm broke now!!) and also his pants, and coming soon, his shoes! Oh well, I'd say it's a pretty good birthday, no??

Ranting...

Life really sucks sometimes, 

BIG TIME~! 

It's true what they say, that when it rains... it pours. 

The past 24 hours have been filled with nothing but 

disappointment, 

frustration, 

anger. 

All of a sudden, the bad just seems so powerful, 

it seems to overshadow all the good that was there before...

And I know the paranoia will only get worse, 

because of a compounding factor. 

Uh huh... today is the day.

Yes, if you can't already tell... 

I am having a shit day.

And I don't see how it's going to get better. 

Hamilton Island, The GRRREEEAAATT Barrier Reef

Yes, you got it right... More photos to come after a whole week of procrastination... I'm back at work now, as a second year resident, otherwise known as Hospital Medical Officer. So yeah, it's not like I've been bumming around with nothing to do, and not updating my blog. 

Since I'm on my day off today, I've decided to update this... almost dying blog with more photos from our recent Hamilton Island trip.

My "Hamilton" burger... with chips. It was quite nice, but I don't think it was worth 20 AUD!! Oh, if I haven't mentioned, everything in Hamilton Island is expensive! Everything is double the price... except for transportation, which is free of charge! 

Headed to the beach in the evening, when the tide was low... We were trying to walk to the nearest island, which during the day, seems miles away when you're on the kayak, or sailing on the catamaran... 

But when the tide is low, you can almost "walk over" to the island... tee hee hee. 

Even saw this cute little snail, and some small crabs on the sand...

Buggies, buggies, and more buggies everywhere!!!

Just chilling, really... With nothing much to do every day. We just sorta took things slow, relaxed.

Jon being Jon, suggested that we went to play minigolf. Yes, I don't think he can survive without golf. hehehehe...

There was this "minigolf by moonlight" competition...

And guess who won it?! Apparently, Jon had the best score that the guy has seen in a longg time! And he won himself a jet ski ride! Woohoo!!!

After the game, we decided to relax and went for jacuzzi at night :) And then took a dip in the pool....

It's just amazing that the water was still warm at night.

By the way, "Happy Chinese New Year / Lunar New Year / whatever you call it" everyone!! Hope you guys have lotsa angpows! Eat lotsa mandarines for me... and pineapple tarts, and... love letters... and lotsa other yummy food! 

Dinner at Jon's aunt's place tomorrow night... Gotta stuff myself silly with lotsa yummy home cooked dishes!
