Sadie's First Word!

Sadie babbles a lot and often strings out "momomomom" and "dadadadadad" but it's not very clear as to whether she associates those sounds with "Mom" and "Dad." But yesterday Eric and I were outside with her and she was playing with Eric's visor. We were talking about the "hat." And just as clear as day she said it--"hat." She said it a few more times yesterday and again this morning. Very cute! I don't remember which words the boys said first, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't "hat!"

Old Pueblo 2009 - Enjoy the ride!

The 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo race has become a yearly event for Eric. It's held in the desert north of Tucson every President's Day weekend. I stayed home with the kids this year, but Eric & Bobby rode together again as a duo. They did 10 laps total (Eric-6, Bobby-4) for a total of 167 miles between the two of them! Eric felt great after the race and they are already planning for next year! Next year we will all go down!

Mobility

Sadie is now everywhere! She is crawling and pulling herself up to stand. I sit her down, turn around to try and do something, and she's gone. Whenever I am on the computer, she is under my feet. Whenever I look away from her she puts something small in her mouth. We love her--she loves to clap, and laugh, and watch herself in the mirror! I was sad the other day though to realize just how quickly she is changing from our little baby to a toddler. She's never been the smallest of babies anyway, but her new mobility makes her seem so much older. At her 9-month checkup she weighed 23 pounds and was about 29 inches tall.
