Ack, empty nest, what to do.....

Well, my eldest has finally left for Lima Peru for his stint in the Peace Corps and will not be back for 2 years. Even though he calls weekly, it is not like seeing him. We got so many ff miles on our trip to Israel this summer that we will be able to purchase a ticket to go there next, at least for 1 of us, free! Now about my son Robert, he is still living in Greensboro in a questionable lifestyle, but I have high hopes for him also, after all, what are moms for? My mom on the other hand, has moved here, and is getting settled in in her new little condo not far from me, so we spend many a day together. It is a big change for her in her late 70s, and I hope she likes it. My knitting skills are growing as I continue to make more complicated projects.

After a long absence from blogging, I am writing to tell that I have finally made a life long dream; going on pilgrimage. This has to be the pinnacle of my life. Words cannot express the beauty that exits in Land of the Blessed Beauty. This trip has truly changed my life forever.

Notions. C’mon, let us know – if you get one more measuring tape, will you run screaming from the room? Or are you the type that loses stitch markers constantly? What notions do you love and loathe? I have PLENTY of stitch markers, the only thing I could use is a row counter. And I would love to have one of those bracelets that you count rows with.

Are you a swap newbie, or have you done this before? Any good advice for newbies you’d like to share? I have swapped a lot. Use coupons to your craft store if they are available, and don't forget to scour thrift shops for stuff. Sometimes real gems can be had for nearly nothing.

Free Knitting Pattern

trying not to be overwhelmed................................

ok, so here is what is going on knit wise: I am in a kitty cat swap, a year round swap, a theme swap, (which I have already gotten my goodies for, Thanks Stacey!), a "knit it forward" swap, several dishcloth swaps, plus I am the owner of a knitting for charity group on yahoo. AND I am trying to finish my cashmere shawl, once I get it finished I think it will be too warm to wear it! Oh well, I am taking it on the plane in my travel bag for my trip to Israel. My mom is coming to house-sit and to take care of the kitties. Our plane tickets are bought.

On the homefront, Roger has celebrated another birthday, we have had another anniversary. Ayyami-Ha is next week, & I have a closet full of surprise goodies! I am going to have a party March 1.

Baha'i wise, we continue to have prayers monthly at our home, and Joy & David Schultz have started having devotions at thier home the 3rd Sunday of every month. Richard is teaching a Ruhi class, & I am teaching a new believers class.

Richard remains at home, working diligently at Harris Teeter, waiting to go in the Peace corps in June. Robert is still in Greensboro, much to my dismay, living a life I really don't approve of, but he is a young adult now. I love both my children dearly.

Roger's b'day is today. It is hard to believe that he is 55 years old.........when we married he was only 24. I hope he likes the new drill set Richard & I got him. I have been on many swaps lately, and am now recieving a lot of neat stuff in the mail.
