Sienna's two front teeth fell out in December. The first one on the 6th and then the other on the 16th. Mom thought it was so funny that the timing worked out with Christmas. Sienna wondered why it was so funny to her. We kept singing, "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth," to honor her mouth. It is still one of Sienna's favorite songs right now.
We had a fun primary activity last week. We met, drank hot chocolate and ate cookies. Then we drove to the LA temple to look at the Christmas lights. The palm trees make me laugh every year. For some reason, Christmas lights on a palm tree seem like a contradiction.
Breven went to his first professional hockey game. The LA Kings were playing Edmonton Oilers--Smokey's favorite team. Smokey's friend, AL, gave him two tickets right behind the net. When I asked for the report of what he thought, he said, "Too Loud." The first half of the first period, Breven sat with his hands over his ears. The hockey was exciting too. The Oilers scored three times the first period and we thought it would be a boring game. The Kings came back the second period and scored four goals. Then the Oilers scored one more in the third ending the game in a tie. The Oilers won in the shoot out. Breven had a good time. We extended the fun when Al called and offered Saturday night's tickets too. Going two nights in a row is a lot for a little guy. (I've been waiting for Smokey to take the pictures of his phone, but I will post some when that happens).
At Breven's preschool, they have a stuffed puppy that goes home with each student for a week. It was Breven's turn back in November. We had a great time. Most of the time, Petey just went in the car with us. As we were loading the car, Breven would run back into the house to get Petey. He went to pick up Sienna from school, Breven's speech, Chuck E. Cheese, and the LA Zoo. We also made a poster about Breven to hand up in the classroom. The teachers commented that after they saw some of the pictures, they decided that he was a little more active at home. He is very calm at school. He is just foolong them all.
We had a non-traditional Thanksgiving, but it was fabulous. We spent the day at the LA Zoo. We bought a year pass last October when Smokey's college friends, Brent and Kammie, came to visit. It was more economical to buy a year pass and use the guest passes then it was to pay one day admission for our group. The benefits of being CA residents are great. We thought it would be fun to use our pass one more time before it expired--especially since Smokey would be able to go with us. I wanted him to see the bird show. We had only seen the bird show one other time, and it was too short--you definitely leave wanting more. I loved the macaws because their colors are bright and beautiful. It was the perfect day to go to the zoo because the weather was nice so the animals were active. We even got to see the zoo keeper feed the Komodo dragons their "rat popsicles." Sienna and Breven loved taking turns to get their wild ride in the stroller from Dad. We squealed and laughed so much that others probably thought we were crazy.
Oh well--even if we are over a month late, I wanted to share our costumes. This is the first time that I have not made any costumes. We were lucky enough to find them on ebay for a great price. We spent less on the costumes and shipping then we would have spent at the fabric store. I feel like we found great deals. Sienna wanted to be Jasmine, and tried to convince Breven to be Aladdin. However, Breven definately has his own likes and opinions. She was excited to have Caden be her pet Rajah.
Breven loves Buzz Lightyear. When we first got the costume, he checked it out and pointed out all the things that were missing or different from the real Buzz. He has studied Buzz and can do all his moves. He always pushes one of the buttons and makes a sound to signify the extension of his wings. He still wears his costume often. I think it will be worn out by the time Caden will be that size.
I've been without a computer for so long that I've had a hard time to include it in my routine. I've reconcilled all our banking, but reading blogs and loading pictures has moved to the bottom of my to do list. I'm going to try to play catch-up today.
