Pillows and MORE Pillows

During high school, I slept in the middle of a queen-size bed by myself with up to ten pillows all around. I love pillows! I brought most of my pillows with me when I got married and Smokey tenderly named it my "nest." Over the years we have removed most of the pillows to other beds, a shelf, or something a little more permanent. Since I am in the final seven-week stretch of my pregnancy, I pulled out all the extra pillows again. Last night as a slept, I remembered why I started this habit in the first place. It is fantastic to have the soft cushions all around and not have to worry where I ROLL (that is really all I do now--roll). It was so comfortable and luxurious as I was falling asleep, I thought, "Oh, I should write a post in honor of pillows."

Father and Son's Campout

Smokey took Breven on his first campout last weekend. Breven had a great time and thought it was fun to sleep in the tent. Sienna and I had a great Girls' Night by going to a Cinderella play at a local elementary school, and then we had our own campout in the living room. I asked, hoping, if it would be just as fun to sleep in "Mom's bed" but that was no good. When Smokey came home and saw the tent inside, he said, "Now that is the way to camp."

Cat Sitting

Would you believe that we are taking care of our neighbor's cats for three weeks? The mama cat just had three kittens 5 weeks ago. They are very cute, but if you recall, I am not fond of animals and my children have picked up on this trait. They talk big that they are going to hold the cats, but they are resistant when we are in the presence of the animals. However, they look forward to carrying the key as we walk over to the house. Unfortunately, this experience has reassured my desire to never have animals in my house. We are pleased to report that the kittens are all alive and happy; this is my goal for the next 8 days.
