Happy New Year!

While we were at a BYU Basketball game and dinner with John and Karla (PF Changs-Yum), Megan and her friends was at home preparing for a party at our house.  Isaac's excited!

We played the family game (about 5 times) and the screaming game.

We went outside and saw these things glowing in the sky.  It was reminiscent of the lanterns in "Tangled".   Michael thought it was the end of the world.

We found out later that they were glowing lanterns.  They were set off in Rebecca's stake in Provo.  Very cool.

And we enjoyed the fireworks as well.

And I'm sure our neighbors enjoyed the loud banging of the pots and pans (and the yelling) at midnight.

It was a cold night!

So cold in fact that Scott sported his Russian hat that his parents gave him.  We only break that thing out on special occasions.

Birthday Boy

Scott typically gets the short end of the stick for his birthday. I am worn out by the time Christmas is over and then New Years Eve is the next day. But he is a good sport about it. He was able to have a a nice breakfast of waffles and strawberries, a great bike ride (something that has been unheard of in December's past), a semi-clean house (funny that that is what I want to for my birthday), a nice sweet and sour chicken dinner (his favorite), and some random gifts. Scott is always fun to watch open his gifts. He is always appreciative (and animated) about the random things we get him.

This is a tarp.  For some reason we don't have one.  I thought it might come in handy one of these days.

Emma always draws pictures and writes special notes for people.  She is very thoughtful that way.

He woke up when he got this sweet card from his parents.

Aunt Susie and Grandma were there too to celebrate.  Happy Day for all!

I won't go into a long list of 40 something reasons why I love Scott but I will say that he is a wonderful husband, fun to be around, makes parenting a joy, and I love him dearly!  I feel very blessed he is mine.

Isaac's First Birthday Party

Well, this is his first birthday party he was invited to attend. He was the youngest, and the only boy, but he didn't care.  There was food and toys so he was a happy boy.  It was a Minnie Mouse theme with cute cupcakes, mickey mouse shaped grilled cheese sandwiches, and other cute decor. My friend Lisa definitely knows how to host a party!

And this was his cute Mickey Ears, although he thought they were edible and took a bite out of one of the ears!

Santa came...

although it was questionable at times. Everyday leading up to Christmas we weren't sure who would be on the naughty or nice list. But I guess they shaped up!  Here they are waiting to go into the family room.  I think this was one of our earliest Christmas mornings (7 am).  They were just too excited. 

Santa had some trouble with spelling names.  Too many names to keep track of I guess.

A very unique gift from Santa, a unicycle.  Who will be the first to learn how to ride that thing?

Isaac wasn't too interested in the toys he got.  He was mostly interested in carrying around an old baby doll.

He did however like the books he got.  He was pretty excited.

We went to Scott's parents house for dinner and Mom and Susie came too.  Somehow this was the only picture I got.

Christmas Eve

It is our tradition every year to go to my Mom's house for a fabulous dinner and then a Christmas Nativity play (with very original costuming). Here are the pictures from that memorable event.
