rhubarb pie

When we got home from the long weekend our rhubarb was just the right size for a pie. I wish you could have been here. It was one of the yummiest ever!
If you want to try it here's my mom's recipe:

4 cups rhubarb; cut into small pieces
3 tsp flour
½ cup sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp water
1 tsp butter

Mix everything together except butter and let sit while you make the pie crusts. Place mixture in unbaked 9” pie shell. Dot with butter. Cover with unbaked pie crust. Bake 40 minutes at 425° or until golden brown.
The pie has its best flavor if you let it cool and eat it about 6 hours later. I like to make it the night before then eat it for breakfast, lunch and dessert. Yum!

wonderful week

We had a great week with all of Keith's family at the Gorge. Great Grandma came down with Grandma Rosemary's siblings to celebrate her 90th birthday. We also enjoyed beautiful sunshine, a great beach for the kids, and a fantastic kiteboarding session. Thanks Kirk and Kirsten for introducing us to such a fun sport and Rosemary for making the trip so enjoyable and easy for our family! We had so much fun we forgot to take many pictures but here are a few.

feeding ducks

We went to the nature park today and Neil wanted to pet the ducks and Drew was afraid of them. Drew says, "I am not brave of ducks." So funny.

great week

Mom and Dad came for a week visit. They braved the windy weather and we had a great time. Grandpa gave lots of motorcycle rides and grandma was lots of fun to play with. Thanks for the visit, seeds and beautiful plant.

happy birthday to me

For my 30th birthday Keith bought me a motorcycle! How fun is that? Well, a lot. He also encourages me to ride it at least 30 minutes each day so I will be able to sort of keep up with him when we go ride. Thanks Keith!

great idea

I love to mow the lawn and work in the yard but it is sometimes hard to time the kids naps so I can do it. On Saturday we were raking the yard and Keith thought of a great idea . . .

too tired

We've been playing outside as often as possible. Sometimes we have so much fun we're too tired to even eat. For anyone who knows Neil that's tired!
