The Beach

A friend told us about a  beach that is close to our house, so we decided to check it out. It was awesome. There was so much beach area, playgrounds, shade and food. We will probably make a return trip next week.

The first thing Ross did when we got there was throw off his hat of course.

He loved the sand, even though it was kind of hot.

Loved the water, even though it was kind of cold. Maybe he's cold-blooded.

Burying his feet.

It was so funny because he would cry when we took him away from the sand and into the water. Then he would cry when we took him out of the water and back to the sand. Dave and I had a good time too, but it made us realize how white our skin is. We need some sun!

Playing in the water.

Waving to the people next to us. . . . while not letting go of the sand.

Not sure what he's doing here. ??? But we thought it was hilarious.

Random Pictures

Cool dude in Mom's sunglasses.

Kisses for the puppy.

Trying to crawl under his stroller. Obviously not a pleasant outcome.

Dad and Ross playing. . . . or sleeping.

Dinosaur BBQ

We wanted Lisa to experience Dinosaur BBQ since it was featured on the Man vs. Food cable show. Here is Ross enjoying playing with Lisa before our lunch came.

Where's my ribs????

He got to enjoy black beans and rice. And boy did he enjoy them!

Palmyra

On Saturday the 12th we decided to drive to Palmyra, New York. It's about an hour and 15 minutes away from where we live. There's some significant church history there. Dave and I went right after we got to NY when I was pregnant, but haven't been back since. It was fun to see the sites again.

Dave was laughing at how I was pushing the stroller. This is walking up to Hill Cumorah. It's quite the walk even without a stroller! After the picture, Dave took over the pushing.

Talking a car ride break.

Ross winning over the heart of this sweet Sister missionary.

A lot of walking through the Sacred Grove. Rossy loved the shoulder ride.

And finally a family pic. It was great to see everything and remember what happened there.

Zoo

After breakfast and a morning nap, we headed off to the zoo. Dave and I had been wanting to take Ross so we were glad we got to go.

Family pic with Ross petting the elephant.

Lisa really liked the elephant too.   :)

This was in the aquarium area. I think this was Ross' favorite part. We couldn't get any good pictures because he kept waving his hands and wiggling all over.

He also loved the birds.

Luckily it was a really nice day and we had a good time. I wish we could've got a picture of Ross' 'scuzz' look that he started doing. He would just look up with his eyes, almost rolling them. It was hilarious.

Mother's Cupboard

Dave's sister Lisa was able to come out to visit. We had a great time and loved having her here. We went to Mother's Cupboard for my birthday breakfast. One year older.

He enjoyed his breakfast as well.
We shared this food and still weren't able to eat it all. It was good.

Ross loves to people watch.

Surprisingly he warmed up to Lisa pretty quickly.

We have a walker

Little Rossy has  been taking a few steps here and there for the last couple of weeks. A few days ago while his Aunt Lisa was here visiting he wanted to show off his talents a bit more.

He does best when he is holding something, I think it helps him keep his balance.

This is what he does half the time. :)  But seriously . . . . . .

My climber

Apparently the walker looked like it needed to be climbed on. Didn't even know he could do this! But it was kind of fun to watch.

Love this face, contemplating the idea. 'Can I really do it?'
And the answer is yes. I didn't help him. He got all the way in it himself. I did help catch him when he decided he wanted to climb out of it though. :)

Love my boy

May 4th was a good day. It was one of those days when life almost seems perfect. Baby takes good naps, is happy, great weather and I have those moments when I realize how blessed I am and how much happiness this sweet boy brings to my life.

We spent about an hour and a half on a blanket just outside of our apartment. We played, watched the cars go by, ate cheerios (and grass) and just enjoyed one another's company.

This last picture was from Sunday the 1st. Ross didn't want to take his afternoon nap so I laid him on the bed with me. I'm glad that doesn't happen every day, but when it does, I love cuddling with my little guy.

Afternoon at the park

It was a beautiful day today so we headed to the park. Ross has never been on a swing before so I was anxious to see how he'd like it.

He wasn't too sure about it at first!

He did NOT want to keep this hat on; kept trying to pull it off. And apparently he didn't want Dad to just lay there so he climbed all over him.

What a cutie!

This shows him on the swing. It was a bit windy so sorry about the sound. You can hear him laugh a few times.

He loved swinging with me. You'll see him clapping his hands, waving and kicking his feet.
We had a good day.
