10 Months

A little late again (I don't think I've posted on time for any of her monthly updates) but our cute little girl is 10 months old. Really. How come they grow so quickly this first year? It is amazing all that she has learned in a short 10 months.

Charlotte loves the stairs. She heads straight to the stairs when we are in the living room. She has even ventured up the stairs that lead to the bedrooms (there are a lot of stairs). Our next task is going down, my way not hers which is head first.

As seen in the previous post, this is our new toy, an Ergo. I love it. It is really comfortable and I can wear Charlotte in the front, back or side.

Good thing I padded the fireplace. Now that we moved her baskets of toys and blankets (there new home is a gate to the stairs) Charlotte is climbing on up. She is also starting to walk assisted but not too much cruising on her own. Another new favorite is the playroom. She loves being with all the toys.

After the fish hatchery we said our good-byes and we headed to Multnomah Falls. We hiked up to the bridge and attempted a family picture. You get what you get.

Our last big excursion was to see where Aunt Becky lives, hang out with her and her accidental family. You see not long ago Becky lost her best friend, Margaret, to cancer and well if you want the story check out their blogs. We now have the privilege of adding to our family(Ben, Will and Lucy) and so we wanted to hang out with them and let the cousins play. Erika and her trio came up for the day and so did Sam and Grace. Unfortunately Will was in school for part of the playing time (and the time I had out the camera) and Ben at work.

Spending time with family was our goal this vacation and we had so much fun with them.

One day we ventured to OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry). We had so much fun. The Science Playground (where there were tons of activities for kids) was our favorite place. There was a nature area where you could...

And then there was an area for kids under 24 months, Charlotte and I hung out there for a bit. Tables set up to build and connect.

The watershed, this was my favorite area. Elanor and I manipulated the sand and rocks to stop the flow of water or to let it flow freely.

Visit to the Northwest-the beginning

Andrew and I decided to take the family and  head westward over Halloween this year. It worked out with school schedules and airline tickets were just right. First on the agenda was a Halloween Party at Grandma Dorothy and Grandpa Ken's house.

Once there was a pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin. Once there was a pumpkin full of seeds.

Then that pumpkin was de-seeded, de-seeded, de-seeded.

9 Months

The past month has gone by so quickly. She is such a sweet little girl. Here is her scrunchy face (this was a face I would make as a baby too) and we love it. She will start snorting and it is just adorable.

I think she is teething again, the number 9 was constantly in her mouth.

Another skill she is trying to master is climbing the stairs. I caught her in mid climb and the other day Andrew caught it a step shy of the top. She was done and looking for a way down. Luckily it is a small set of stairs. I will have to watch her even closer now.

October-the beginning

A little story background.

Once upon a time on my 5th birthday a sister was born. Yes, a sister to love and hug. We celebrated together until my 20th birthday, darn college putting distance between us. This was the year to celebrate together again. Sarah came to visit and for us to spend our day together. I gave Sarah the choice of going to PA or the beach. She chose the beach (sorry PA friends) and the beach is where we headed the first weekend of October.

The birthday girls with the cheesecake (which was one of my best ever, no cracks and so smooth and deliciously raspberry chocolate) and Charlotte.

Sarah's visit included lots of food. We went to several East Coast restaurants (Friendlys, Bob Evans, Ritas) that she misses. Helluva Good dip was devoured along with Utz chips and Sweet Lebanon Bologna. Her visit was too short but it was so fun. Sophie and Elanor had so much fun playing with the Barbies and Ferrari she brought, our old toys. Charlotte loved to stick out her tongue with Aunt Sarah, she wouldn't do it for me just Sarah.


On Columbus Day, we headed westward to find a pumpkin patch, corn maze and other activities. It was a hot day but fun.
