1:48 pm - Tearing my hair out....

I set up both the lj account universism and this community universists but haven't been very well. As such, I have lost not only the password to the lj account but the email address I used as well. As such, I cannot add or alter anything here so I'm afraid, I can't add anyone as friends or update. I have sent a query to livejournal but am not hopeful of a response. I have gone through every email address I have ever known myself to have but can find nothing. I am very sorry to all those who have joined here expecting to find out more about Universism, my own recommendation is to just head along to the main Universists website and forget all about this. Hopefully, lj will close these accounts through lack of use. Once again, I am very very sorry for any inconvenience so caused.

8:28 pm - Just thought I'd say hi :)

confliction

In a moment of randomness, I stumbled across this new philosophy/religion. I was looking for something to quench my desire to find hope in the future, so I typed 'hope future' in google, and hey presto :)
I think Universism speaks volumes for my over-arching views and thoughts on existence, and how I go about trying to make sense of it, and my place in it all.
Before I stumbled across you guys, I had found something that was similar to my beliefs about the world, called the Law of One.
It's cool that Edward O. Wilson is a Universist, because I started reading one of his books a few months back called 'The Future of Life'.
It's odd how things all link together in life.
I'll stop rambling now :) Could you add me to the friends list? Or possibly point me in some sort of direction, lol. Should I take part in the Universism Forum?
Hmmm... take care :D Layturs ~JJ~

I just came across the Unversism website last night, and I'm already a supporter. I feel proud to be a part of this religious movement.

4:44 pm - BBC Messageboards....

universism
|
I have placed this message on the main BBC Religion Messageboards:-
"Universism is a progressive natural philosophy. It unites the following traditional freethought approaches to religious questions:
Atheism - There is no God. Or, the question is irrelevant. Deism - There is a God, and I can determine this through reason. Pantheism - God and the Universe are the same. Agnosticism - People cannot rationally determine whether there is a God or not, so it is pointless to even try. Transcendentalism - God or transcendent ultimate reality can be understood intuitively through experiencing nature and art.
All of these approaches center on your personal view of God. The Universist Alternative places emphasis on the attitude and spirit in which you address religious questions, and the tools you use to do so, rather than focusing on any conclusions that you may arrive at."
I am a Universist. I was wondering if the BBC Faith boards would reflect this new and ever-growing religion? I am aware that we (as Universists) are only at our embryonic stage of development but I feel that it won't be too long before our ranks swell and grow strong.
Let's see what sort of reaction this topic generates.

This is the Universists livejournal community. Universism is a progressive natural philosophy. It unites the following traditional freethought approaches to religious questions:
Atheism – There is no God. Or, the question is irrelevant. Deism – There is a God, and I can determine this through reason. Pantheism – God and the Universe are the same. Agnosticism – People cannot rationally determine whether there is a God or not, so it is pointless to even try. Transcendentalism – God or transcendent ultimate reality can be understood intuitively through experiencing nature and art.
All of these approaches center on your personal view of God. The Universist Alternative places emphasis on the attitude and spirit in which you address religious questions, and the tools you use to do so, rather than focusing on any conclusions that you may arrive at.
Thanks to ReligiousTolerance.org for the above info.
