well, the aboriginal kids i used to squat with had money to by drugs and alcohol with, so i guess i would bring them food. they were always hungry. however, drugs and alcohol always came first. i couldnt even handle watching them day to day not eating, even though i didnt eat. i didnt care about myself ay. i just wanted them to be ok. i just remember tarrah (the seven year old) always cried because her stomach hurt from hunger. i always stole her food. i cant handle them not eating. i wish there was a way that they could have unlimited food access. haha i guess they do actually, as they always steal from the bakery at midland gates. i love them kids ay they wer family. i hope their eating now.

If I were to visit this town of my previous squatting location, I would definitely gift them alcohol. This would be the reasoning behind my decision...
Numero uno: Hippies who do not drink live in the woods...so my experience tells me. Hippies "gather". Street kids "squat". Therefore, I must assume these kids are not woods hippies, and what street kid doesn't drink? You can't go wrong.
2: Liquer is pretty expensive. I know where I used to squat we got so sick of the same freakin' "Beast" that when some townie came by for a visit and brought liquer we all just about cried....just about. Case in point...liquer makes kids happy.
And finally, the third reason why I would definitely gift alcohol *drum roll please*...Alcohol is good for everything from wound treatment and hunger pains to hangovers and bad sex. Also, I would be pretty bummed to have nothing to drink with my peeps if I got there and they didn't have any.
So, basicly, alcohol is a practical, universally appreciated, usually anticipated present that's good for everybody. Besides, if you're on the street you know how to make your own money, bum your own smokes, and dive your own food. Those wouldn't be presents anyway though since we all kind of pitch in on those kinds of things for the others. Yay. The End. :b

Explain in at least one paragraph: Probably some of my herbal medical supplies 'cuz getting scratched-the-fuck-up seems to be part of street life, and when I was first thrown to the streets as young kids I got more infections from bad tending than I would like to admit. It would be nice to give others something that could help with any type of pain, even if it's your own damn fault.

i will be returning soon to san francisco(my old stomping grounds)and i will bring the kids buttons/pins/orange juice/bagels and cream cheeze/fresh socks/the usual. hmmm...i guess that's too short of a paragraph. i would supply liquor/maybe a lighter/etc. i'm not a big advocate for smoking though. definitely a warm blanket and nail polishes galore. even give street kids manicures...nothing like a fresh coat of black/silver/red paint. and fresh undies...i know that's better than scoring drugs sometimes. i'll dig up some pics...i actually have some from the streets of san francisco somewhere.

Um dude, whatever I have. Probably some spange and definitely cigarettes, those are necessary. But what I think I would give them if I could give them anything is a mean dog. All street kids need a mean dog and that is what I plan to have with me at all times no matter what.

I'd give them a blanket, cigarettes, and beer. Simply because those are more practical then money or food. Your body can go a months without food anyway (or longer, it just needs water), so food is almost impractical. Money is bullshit, and I don't know a single person who would even consider asking for it. Keep in mind that squatting isn't what it used to be.

I'm more of a kid with homeless experience and a street survivor than a fucking socialite looking for "points" or whatever they call those fucking things. I am not the most social person, and that is why I do not get along with most of the kids. I take cigarettes, maybe books (hey, you never know if they're interested), and a deck of cards so we can play strip poker. Everyone needs some lung destruction, intellectual stimulation, and naked bodies. I'll bring money to help pay for booze, because after the reading, smoking, and strip poker we would want to get shitfaced and act like dumbasses, fight eachother and make it all good in the morning, all hungover and singing to a song in our dirty clothes and unkempt hair. Beautiful.

I just did something like this too. I was bumming it in England a while. Some of my old mates wanted me to bring them some shit because they were on a few day run. So, me and my best mate jacked four 40s from a deli, two sandwiches, a box of pop-tarts, and a jar of jam. I threw in a carton of cigarettes and an bottle of White Wolf. We got to Manchester in one week and the fucker weren't even there. Good times, though.
