ATC meetup is tomorrow
and I'm bringing 13 quilted ATCs, lots of editions, "firefly buttons" , the cryogenically frozen head of Walt Disney, a dromedary, and... a Eurocentric view of world history. oops had a Daria moment there. hope to you all soon! | | Sunday, July 10th, 2005 | 4:55 pm [wyrdfae]

ATC update
I kept saying I would finish these. Mindy gave me these pictures of me being Kaylee. I added Kaylee quotes and little floweres and stuff to them. You can see it better in the originals but one says "are you asking me to dance?" and the other says "you're gonna come with us...you like ships...and mine's the nicest" ( Read more...Collapse )x-posted to wyrdfae | | Sunday, May 22nd, 2005 | 12:09 am [wyrdfae]

Welcome
Welcome to all the newest additions! Hi to all y'all I don't know, and Hi Gary. I recently started this group, so I don't know what the flavor will be. That's up to you guys. I have no rules on what you can post, images or whatnot; again that's up to you guys. In the meantime, feel free to ask questions, or share work, or talk about processes, or whatever. | | Monday, April 25th, 2005 | 1:32 pm [amysisson]

I blame you
I'm infatuated with my new hobby, such that I don't want to work or play at anything else. You are Bad People for doing this to me. I have out-of-state houseguests coming at the end of the week. I can see it know: "Sorry there's nowhere for you to sleep, but look at these art trading cards!" | | Sunday, April 24th, 2005 | 11:45 am [amysisson]

Houston, we have ATCs!
Hooray, I have my first ATCs! What do folks think is a good kind of glue to be using in collage type cards? Also, what glue is good for putting a rather flimsy card on a cardboard backing? Thanks! | | Saturday, April 23rd, 2005 | 8:25 pm [amysisson]

One more Q
And do cards have to be portrait -- i.e. 2 1/2 wide by 3 1/2 high? Or can they be landscape as well -- 2 1/2 high by 3 1/2 wide? | 8:12 pm [amysisson]

Questions from a newbie
Hi folks. I have a few questions. What are those little things called that you stick through the paper and then fold the "prongs" or "legs" back so they lay flat, leaving a flat "button" on one side and the folded legs on the other side. They're usually metal, I think, although I don't think they have to be. I'm pretty sure I saw some cards at the meeting the other night that had these things in them. I didn't even know what to ask for at the hobby store! Also, the pages to hold cards -- do they sell those at hobby/craft stores like Hobby Lobby or Michael's? I didn't see them among the scrapbooking stuff, which makes sense, and I was on my way somewhere so I didn't ask the salesfolk. Or do you have to go to a game store? The larger ATC group on LiveJournal has a question with several comments about "trading forward", or trading cards that you received from someone rather than making them yourself. I was surprised by how many of the commenters were horrified at the thought, and believed it was an insult to the artist. I had assumed that people trade widely whenever and wherever. What are your thoughts on this? Thanks! Amy | | Friday, April 22nd, 2005 | 1:20 pm [limner]

Salutations
I've created this community, and paid for two months. Assuming we find this venue useful, I expect to be continuing that, although of course other people can help. And, I've added some interests. Things you could contribute helpfully at this time: interests, titles for pages (the journal page, and the user page, I think, I'm uncertain how all that works), and a description. And anything else you want, of course. Because it's paid, I thought we'd get to have pics, but I think that's only the personal accounts. But I'm sure we get userpics, yes/no? If we do, someone could opt for that. I know that, because it's paid, we can have polls, which could be useful. This is a backup to the yahoo group, in case we have issues with that, or want to share more things, or chat more than we'd feel comfortable with there, or something. I'm going to go tell people I think would want to know that I made this group. |
