| Landlord Responsibilities: Leaky Ceiling |

Hi all,
Earlier today the ceiling in my and my boyfriend's apartment suddenly started leaking. The area where the leak is located looks as though it has been damaged from water leakage in the past, and the floor below this spot has also warped and been damaged. I suppose I should mention that we just moved in at the beginning of September.
So, I called my landlord and told her about the leak, and she immediately knew the exact area of the ceiling that was leaking and the reason for it. She said that the people in the apartment above ours sometimes do not secure their shower curtain around the tub, thus causing water to spill on the floor and into our apartment through the ceiling. Her "fix" to the problem was to call the tenants and ask them to re-secure their shower curtain.
I'm somewhat concerned about this, because like I mentioned, it looks as though this leak has been a problem for some time, and additionally, the unit above ours is rented out as a "vacation rental." This means that there are always new tenants coming and going. I'm worried that with so many new people in that unit, this will happen again and again because they won't know about the shower curtain.
I've been googling around a bit, but I am unable to find any information regarding my landlord's responsibilities in this situation. It seems to me that she should have to fix the ceiling, as it is probably getting moldy and maybe even becoming structurally unsound.
Does anyone have any resources that may be helpful in this situation? Thanks so much!
