Cinderella dancing with her prince??

Ok, so someday Kylie will not be thrilled about dancing with her brother, but today she thought it was great that Zachary took the time to play with her!

Morning News

Zachary got to be on fox 59 morning news this morning with his cub scout pack...super exciting to see the inside of the newsroom and see himself on tv!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

What's better than Christmas morning at home in your pajamas? Although we had a great Christmas morning...We have tried to focus this year on what Christmas is really all about...we attended a candlelit service at church last night...to remember the birth of our savior, we helped at the food pantry on Monday...to help others have a great Christmas too, and the kids chose special gifts for their siblings and wrapped them all by themselves.

Bedtime stories from Papaw

Since Papaw could not come home this Christmas with Mamaw, he sent a dvd of himself reading the kids new books. They loved Papaw's special surprise!

Happy 31st Birthday Daddy!

Tonight Marisa & Frank and the kids came over to celebrate daddy's birthday with us and exchange Christmas gifts. It took them longer than expected to get here with the icy roads, but we had a yummy dinner including birthday cupcakes. I don't know who had more fun with the nerf guns, the daddys or the boys and Kylie is still "cooking" in her pretend kitchen with her new pots and pans and the highlight the hot pad!!

Christmas with Grandma & Grandpa

Well, our day of baking cookies with the cousins didn't happen today because Tyler has the stomach bug that we had last weekend. But Grandma and Grandpa still came over for an early dinner and with a few presents. The boys loved their remote control cars. Kylie said Grandpa and Bye-bye for the first time today! Now we're going to bake our cookies, just us!

Christmas at the zoo

We only have a few pics because I forgot to charge the batteries for the camera, but we still had lots of fun. Kylie especially enjoyed the dolphin show, the boys liked the trains at White River Garden and the highlight for the boys was watching the tiger eat an animal that wandered into it's cage. We heard a rumor it may have been one of the red pandas (oops!)

Lil' helper

Kylie is always on hand to help with whatever task I might be trying to accomplish. This time it was Miss Nanette's Christmas gift.

Can't catch me...

I'm the gingerbread man! Tonight we made and decorated gingerbread men. Kylie didn't want to give up her spot when it was Wesley's turn to cut out cookies, but they had lots of fun decorating and eating their gingerbread men and trees!

visitors

Thursday afternoon Wesley and I noticed 5 visitors just on the other side of our fence near Grandpa's pond. We watched them for at least half an hour before they headed back into the woods where they were more protected.

Playin' in the snow

Yesterday we spent a fun afternoon at Chad's aunt and uncle's, Auntie & Unkie. We ate way too much food and the kids had fun playing in the snow for the first time this winter. On Saturday, Kylie looked out the window at the snow and said, "eewww! yucky!" and all day Saturday as we ran errands she continued to be disgusted by the snow. However when she got all dressed in her snow clothes like the boys, she had fun playing out in the snow. She even went down the hill on Unkie's sled by herself (after mommy and the camera went back inside where it was warm of course!) Auntie even had something little for each of the kids to open. The boys all got matchbox cars, Kylie got her first Barbie doll and Brittany got new gloves. After dark we drove through the Walkway of Lights and then headed home.

Our Tree

Here's our tree..didn't get any during the decorating it was too crazy. And as nice as it is to have a pre-lit tree...it stinks when you put it up and you can't get all the lights working!

Thank You Meal

"The thank you meal, the thank you meal, come sit around our table..." Wesley had a fall program at preschool on Friday. After watching the kids at their final practice and performance on both Thursday and Friday, I've been singing the songs all weekend! Wesley always makes crazy faces during performances when his friends make big motions. He just needs a little more personal space than the stage allows! He did a great job and was excited for Grandpa to come see him sing! Afterwards, we all had a yummy lunch together. "1 cup of friendship, stir, stir, 2 cups of family, stir, stir, 3 cups of good food, stir, stir, and a pinch of me!"

our little chef!

Kylie LOVES to help cook and watch cooking shows! Her favorite show is Rachael Ray and she makes a stirring motion to tell us that she wants to watch her or that she's getting ready to cook. She has been using a small chair to stand on in the kitchen to see what's going on up high for months now. Yesterday I let her help me make instant mashed potatoes. It's really hard for a right handed mommy to help a left handed Kylie stir! As you can see, she couldn't have been happier (even with pink eye!)

Brrr...Bird watchin'

Saturday Zachary and I went to McCloud Nature Park with his Cub Scout den to do some bird watching. The boys got to fill the feeders and take them out to the birds, watch the birds eat from inside where it was nice and warm, make a bird feeder to take home, and make bird houses. Zachary's favorite part was when the chipmunk came to pick up the seeds the birds dropped and began filling his cheeks full!

Girl Scout memories

Today I visited the Girl Scout Exhibit at the Indiana State Museum with my fellow scouts Becky and Renee and our leaders (their moms), Jane & Linda. We had a great time checking out the exhibit and remembering all the fun things we've done together. There was even a picure of us in the exhibit!

trick or treat

Well, the kids were quite disappointed we only trick or treated at Ma & Pa's and then they stayed there while I took daddy to the ER. We had planned to attend a Halloween Query (a Bible study we attend with The Jones & VonIns families.) We had planned dinner, a shortened study and halloween fun with the kids, but since daddy had pneumonia and was feeling worse the doctor wanted him to go for another chest x-ray. The kids ate way too much junk food at Ma's and still had a good night.

Favorite birthday toy

Kylie's hippity hop ball is her favorite new birthday toy (for now because she is 2 it will probably change tomorrow!) and yes...you do have to hang your tongue out just like that or it doesn't work!

Trunk n treat 08

This year we have Luke Skywalker, a clone trooper, and a cute kitty. The kids were cold and most of us were not feeling well, so we visited each car, stopped to chit chat with Miss Stephanie and her boys for a few minutes and then headed home for a warm, cozy movie night.
