Cave Find: Formtech Battle Boards

These battle boards have been out in The Cave for many years now and I've never actually used them in my setups. That will have to change this year! After posting in several facebook groups, the consensus is that these were in fact Formtech and made for the old Classic Toy Soldiers (CTS) Battle of Antietam playset. That would put these in the mid-'90s.

Each one measures 21.75" (55.24cm) W x 13.5" (34.29cm) D and are basically 1" (2.54cm) thick with molded-in details going higher. It appears as if either the Marx ACW bridge or even the MPC exploding bridge can be used and you can discern where the road leads up to the river crossing. Right now I'm leaning towards gluing these to lengths of stripwood and turning them into one unit vs. two separate pieces. That river could use some 'water' as well. We shall see, we shall see!

Formtech Destroyed Adobe House - N. Africa / N. America

I almost forgot I had this building until finding it in a drawer out in The Cave. Sooo, what the heck, might as well blog it! Foam buildings and terrain pieces have been made or sold by a variety of company's like Barzo, Formtech, Atherton Scenics, Classic Toy Soldiers, The Hobby Bunker, etc. and while I only have a couple in my stash I'm planning on getting a few more. Like my other foam buildings, this one was bought many years ago at a time when I was collecting anything WWII: ETO, PTO, and North Africa. The building itself resembles an adobe structure commonly found in dry climates across Africa, the United States, or South America and so this building would be just as much at home in a North African Desert Fox scenario as it would in a Southwest diorama.  It measures 9.25" (23.49cm) W x 5.75" (14.60cm) D x 3.75" (9.52cm) H.

Destroyed Building Recap: Airfix, BMC, Britains Deetail, Marx, Juguetes Dinamicos de Mexico, S.A., Atherton Scenics, Formtech, and Whatever Else I can Find

After posting all these destroyed / bombed / ruined buildings of late, I thought it would be a good time to do a recap. Some of the ones shown below had been blogged years ago and I provided links so that you can view the post, others haven't been blogged at all. I have a few Timpo pieces but am totally clueless about Timpo, not being a collector of their toys. As you can see, there's a decent variety of the thin plastic type buildings and there are certainly many more foam buildings on the market - I only have the two previously blogged and shown here. Also, there are the thick soft plastic walls from Forces of Valor (not yet blogged), and the destroyed building / bunker pieces from 21st Century (also not blogged yet). As well, I have several 1/72 scale destroyed buildings, but I'm leaving those for when I start covering the smaller stuff.

These have not yet been blogged. They were a part of 21st Century's Deluxe Military Playset, which I've set up, but haven't done photo essays on the individual pieces yet.

I had these pieces listed on my computer as Airfix, but honestly don't know who made them. They don't match any of the wall pieces in the Strongpoint kit and on-line searches were of no help. They are sized for 54mm figures. Does anyone know what kit/set they were from?

Okay, I don't collect Timpo and only have a few odds-&-ends, like the pieces shown here. Did Timpo make plastic ruined /destroyed buildings or just some bits-&-pieces?
