So I signed the boys up for fencing. They love to sword fight (like any other little boy) and turns just about anything in the house into a sword. Logan loved it, and Braden wouldn't go out on the floor. To his defense, the class was for children ages 5-10. They said they would stretch it a little for Braden since he is almost five. but the class had about 5 boys who were at least nine. I see why Braden didn't want to participate. Logan loved it and can't wait for his next class on Monday.

Maybe this is the boy we should have in fencing!

I have been blessed! (With so much more than I deserve)

A good friend of mine (love you Carrie Leigh!) keeps a daily gratitude blog. I don't think she missed a day last year. So impressive! I have been so grumpy and depressed lately, focusing on what I don't have rather than what I do, that I thought a daily gratitude log may be the key. I am soooooo blessed with everything I have and it's time that I recognize it daily. I have been keeping this blog daily for just over a week and I think I can already see a difference! I have to admit though, some days

Haircut

I rarely, rarely, rarely post photos of me, but I thought for all my distant friends whom I haven't seen in years, it's only fair to give them a small glimpse of me every now and then. I actually took this photo to show my mom my new haircut. I haven't had bangs for a few years and I also had a bunch of layers put in my hair. I have been reluctant to do so because I have been planning to eventually cut it and donate it to Locks of Love. I thought it would be better if there were no layers. Well, I decided to finally get a hair cut that I wanted. I was tempted to go short again, but decided against it because I figure the next time I go short, it will probably be for good. I still have 5 years, but I don't think women in their 40's should have long hair so I might as well enjoy it for the next few years. Also Steve likes it long.

Before

I have always been interested in Feng Shui, but I never realized the effect of this heavy roof on my house until the overhang was removed. I feel like a dark cloud has been lifted off our home. A constant shadow. The amount of light that is now coming in our windows is amazing! I can feel it this morning as I get up and there is light in my home! I have always been very aware of the energy (Chi) in my home. How it enters and moves through my home. Where the highest concentration of chi is and where things are relatively stagnant. The best way I can describe the difference in the feeling in my home is to compare it to days and days of dark clouds and inversion (I live in Utah! hehe) and then finally the clouds break, the air clears up and the sun shines through! It's amazing to look out the window and not have that overhang blocking the sky. Man, I sure wish I was better with words. I have always had a hard time putting my thoughts into words, but hopefully you get the idea!

day 2 of "de"struction

at long last!

Construction finally began on our house today! Well, I guess it's really destruction, but construction will follow! Yeah!!!! Wahoo!!!!!! I plan to keep a photo log of the process for all to see the improvements! Look at Mt Timpanogos there in the background! So gorgeous! What a view we have!

It tears my heart out again to see these first few pictures. He spent his first 2 days in the hospital without me. I missed him so much, even though I hadn't even gotten to meet him. I was so glad Steve was able to spend time with him and send me these great photos. I had them posted on my laptop the full two days I was still recovering from giving birth. It is amazing how much you can miss someone you don't even know!

First hiking trip! First time I hiked while nursing as well! I have hiked while pregnant a couple times, but nursing was a whole new experience!

Logan's Lego's

Santa brought a lot of Lego's this year. He was hoping they would keep Logan busy for a long time. Little did he know, this boy is a wiz at putting them together! He loves it and spent hours working on them between Christmas and new years. This photo was taken on new years eve. He had put together ever set Santa brought. I think it totaled about 2000 individual lego pieces. Way to go Logan!
