Jordan

I haven't posted a lot about Jordan lately so I thought I'd update on him a bit. Last week he had his well-child check up and he measured 61 inches and weighs 91 lbs. He recently participated in an equations tournament held at Wash U and their team Mythilogical Mathletes earned a medal for the points they earned as a team. He still loves to read and build with legos, has been learning to play the trombone, rides the mini bike and is an awesome help with Ryan & the girls.

He is also doing a project at school on robots and today he put this together for fun. They all thought it was funny that it was bigger than Addison.

Jordan has also found a fun new hobby making stop motion movies. It takes 15 frames (pictures takend) for each second so it takes some work:) It is like what they do for clay mation movies (Shaun the Sheep---a favorite of my clan, including Dave). Check out a quick clip:

Bob the Squirrel

Dave tied a corn cob to the tree to see if the squirrel could figure out how to get to it. A little while later the girls were making the squirrel, "Bob" as they all call him, a note so the squirrel would know to go get the corn. Then they wanted to post it to the tree so he would see it. So I tried to explain that the squirrel couldn't read but Dave had already shown them how to draw the picture so Bob would understand ---a corn, the squirrel, a mouth:). I'm sure people have many thoughts as they pass our house with the corn hanging down-haha

Worm wrestle

Just in case you are in need of something to do and to record another one of our crazy fun ideas---this one came from a camp out the boys (Jordan and Dave) went on a couple weeks ago. You create a ring with a rope and then everyone gets into a sleeping bag. You can not use your hands outside the bag. The goal is to push everyone else outside the ring. 3-2-1 go and good luck!:)Don't you love the masked spectator/cheerleader outside the ring? ha!

Happy Birthday

This is what I woke up to---well really it was Addie crying at 6:45 a.m.:) but then as I walked out to the kitchen this is what I saw:

I couldn't believe it!!! Even Addie when she saw it said "I don't want to go out and play in it"--we are all sick of it. :) I can't remember when it has snowed on my birthday (but I am getting older so maybe my memory has truly failed me---hahaha)
I felt really blessed though as I got sweet messages from friends and family and got serenaded twice and I took it for all it was worth--hey why not? I'm not getting any younger..

My twin brother:) came in at midnight which I loved. Yes, we're old but we have always loved celebrating our bday together even as the years have passed and miles have separated us (we're really 2 years and like 30 minutes apart). I am so excited for his new adventure as he and his family are moving (sad it is further away) so it was so awesome to see him even for just a small amount of time. I tried to cook (key word here as we both know he is the chef and not me) him a special breakfast before he had to leave in the morning and we both tried something new for our new year ahead----cactus....why not?

Taste a rainbow

We made these for St. Pat's day and of course the kids loved them. We also had a green smoothie flavored Pina Colada you can get here that was very yummy too. I'm thinking a lot of the holidays are all about the food--right?

Can you BELIEVE this?

I guess I spoke too soon. Last week we had a 70 something degree day. This morning our phone rang to tell us school was cancelled due to weather and I was like what???? Then I looked outside---it shouldn't surprise me living in MO ---but it still does....and it is still coming down:(
