CHRISTMAS!!

I have been SO excited for Lexi's first Christmas. We have been so busy trying to squish in every bit of enjoyment before the big day arrived. Shane and I have talked a lot about all the traditions we want to have with our family. I'm sure some will stay, others will go and new ones will be added but for the time we just love the time we have together. Here's a little synopsis of our very Merry Christmas.

On Christmas Eve we had Aunt Keri over to open presents. 

Wrapping paper was definitely a hit for this little girl.

Then on Christmas Eve we loaded the car and busted home to watch Karli open her Mission call. I promised I would be there by 3:15pm on the dot. I pride myself in being punctual. I hate when people are late. Having a child has made it more difficult but for the most part we are on time. This trip however was a fail. Surprisingly after multiple 'oh crap we forgot....' and turning around we finally made it out of Boise at 2....and sailed nicely onto the far right at 4:30. I'm sorry Karli for making you wait!! 

You're going to be such an awesome missionary and Lexi is really going to miss hanging out with you. I promise we will frame this picture and keep it in her room for the next 18 months!!

Now onto our Christmas. I LOVE Christmas and rumor has it, it will only get better the older Lexi gets. So much fun spending time with family and celebrating a wonderful time of year. Christmas morning we told everyone they had to wait til Lexi got up to open presents. So we decided to do breakfast at 7 and hopefully by 8 Lexi would be awake. Ha, she knew it was Christmas and wouldn't go back to sleep after I fed her at 6:30. She was rearing and ready to go. But we still decided to eat breakfast first. Mom's crepes...mmm!

Lexi was good for 6 whole months...I hate to see what happens when she is good for a year!

Then it was off to the Skaar's to celebrate some more!! More presents and lots of time hanging out with cousins.

The day after Christmas we packed up and headed to Lava to do some swimming. It was awesome. Since the last time we were there they have added a huge indoor kiddie pool. It was SO warm and perfect for the kids. Lexi spent a good two hours playing in the water. We had so much fun. And of course per tradition we had to stop at Wendy's on the way home!!

The rest of the time was spent just hanging out. Playing with toys, playing games and eating food! So much fun. Thanks everyone for the wonderful week. We had so much fun.

Love Christmas time!!

I love this time of year. Crafting, shopping, caroling, baking goodies, remembering/teaching the reason for the season. It's just an amazing time of the year. And this Skaar family is enjoying it!

 We had so much fun at the last hockey game we decided to venture out to another with Katie and Blake. This game had lots more fighting and I was more concerned that the puck was going to come flying into the stands...Still a fun game and the steelheads even won!
