Employee of the Year

My work Christmas party was on Friday and I was really excited to go. I love the people I work with and I'll do practically anything to get out of cooking. When Shane and I walked in they had a poster board of all the employees that had been voted for, for employee of the year and then all the comments that people had to say about the employee. My CEO was there to greet us and told me that he was happy to see my name on the board. As I read the comments it made me so happy about the things I was doing at work. Lately work has been extremely difficult and though I try to dig down and do my best I felt like it wasn't good enough. I even began to question whether nursing was really what I wanted (although Shane keeps telling me that I still watch ER religiously so have I to still love it). But the things people wrote really boosted my spirits. During the program they revealed who received the employee of the year for 2009 and I was so excited to have them call my name. My first work Christmas party was definitely one to remember.

School's OUT!!

Shane and I wrapped up finals and school for this semester Thursday night at about 9:30PM and we have been celebrating ever since!! Bogus finally opened on Thursday so first thing on our list was a snowboarding trip. Friday morning Shane was so excited he couldn't even sleep. He started "wiggling" about 6AM on my first official day of Christmas break. He was so excited, he jumped up got all dressed in his gear, made breakfast and woke up the rest of the clan (Calvin, Clint and Camron were all going with us). Sluggishly I followed after, by the time I ate my breakfast and had the sandwiches made Shane had the car packed and was ready to go. We smashed ourselves into the car and headed out. Arriving half hour early to the mountain, the boys were dressed and ready to go...

It was a perfect day for snowboarding, no fog, two feet of powder, and a bunch of friends. It took us a while to get back in our groove but we loved every minute of it. After getting through the first run and making sure all the equipment was working just right we started bringing out the tricks. My biggest goal was just to get the biggest air, I feel like maybe I succeeded, unfortunately my landings need a little work. But I have all season to work on that. Burning that many calories you have to be able to stop for lunch. We were starving!

Burning that many calories you have to be able to stop for lunch. We were starving! Shane successfully landed his front flip and Clint somehow managed to land the cart wheel I wanted to try. Camron definitely tricked us all out in buttering, he can spin down the mountain faster than any of us. But no one could touch the doubling duel of Shane and I spinning down the mountain...we're professionals. Calvin landed the sweetest grab on our last run, when no one else could even get their boards off the ground. It was so much fun! Despite the wonderful day of snowboarding, I can't believe how sore I woke up the next morning. Its been two days later and I'm still complaining of my aches and pains. But it was definitely worth it!!

The next thing on our to do list, finish Christmas shopping. I love shopping with Shane he's so much fun. Despite how much he may dislike it. And we were successful!! All done :-).

Saturday night we went to Avatar. I was a little apprehensive about this movie. I don't even think I saw the whole trailer before going. But Shane was SO excited. Something about wars, blue people and guns I guess. But I was very impressed, they did a really good job with it and I'd recommend it. Shane says "its the BEST movie I've ever seen...ever!"

I figure that since Krystal let me borrow her car last week AND I am now getting yelled at for not posting pictures of my future neighbor's house, I might as well give it a go.

This is before they got all of the siding up. Just the pretty paper.

Here it is with the siding. Just underneath the left window on the first floor they are going to put rock. On the second story they are going to completely rock the middle window. The rest of it, I think, will be siding.

This is their sassy little sidewalk leading up to their front door. See, it's crooked...just like Shane and Krystal :)

This is the entryway. The front door. How wonderful visitors (Stephen and Kami) will enter the house.

When you first walk in, you are in the living room. The front door is just on the left, but you can't see it in the picture. The thing you see on the right is their gas fireplace. The T.V. is going to go above it. Don't worry they got rid of the junk T.V. they had before and are shopping for another one. Because Krystal has always been the child in our family to be bigger and better, they are shopping for a 50" T.V., while Stephen and Kory and going to sulk with their teeny tiny little 42" T.V.'s. A 50" will cause much grief for my (Kami's) household.

Where I am standing taking the picture is their kitchen. Just outside of the picture to the right are sliding glass doors going to their back yard. To the left outside of the picture are the stairs to the second story.

...And here is the kitchen. Can't you tell? I LOVE the appliances...:)

...And the air ducts. Sorry, this is the most interesting thing to take a picture of on the second floor. You can't really tell what anything is yet. Yell at Krystal. Maybe she's post a virtual tour....yeah, I doubt it too.

YEP!!! They seriously have an outhouse sitting in their driveway. Maybe if they are lucky the builder will leave it there for them.
