Blogging

I have not been blogging as of late. I guess I have been busy and my mind has been overwhelmed with the move and everything. Well I am a married man now! The past few months have been pretty crazy. We have been working on our house, trying to get it comfortable. We are now moved in and sorting through everything and trying to straighten as we go along. I am looking forward to the New Years because we go to my Aunt's and have a little fish fry. It is a good time! Hope all is well with everyone.

Christians

If you claim to be a Christian, please, please try and get a good Christian world view. I read www.markswatson.com to try and see what is going on from a "real" Christian perspective. I challenge you to first and foremost pray to God to open your eyes to the truth. Then research sites like this one so you will be ready in this hour.

I Love You and hope you cling to Jesus Christ for salvation and peace,

Jason

Thanksgiving

I am writing today to talk a little bit about Thanksgiving and what it means. It could mean different things for different people, but this is my interpretation of the word. First and foremost the word has a lot to do with being thankful. I hope that we can all find something to be thankful for, whether it be a little or a lot. Who then should we thank? Throughout school we always used to write about what we are thankful for, but very little did this question come up. Who should we thank for the good in our lives? The answer is most definitely Jesus Christ. I would just simply say God which Jesus is, but some might agree with me that don't really agree with me. Some might say thank God, but they don't mean who God really is......When I say thanks I say it in the name of Jesus Christ. First and foremost I am thankful this year for forgiveness of my sins. This is the reason I can live with confident assurance in the promise of heaven. This is the reason that in these uncertain times, I find peace in the future. Second I am thankful for the companionship of my soon to be wife, she is the love of my life and who I share my life with. Third I am thankful for a good support system behind me in my family and friends. They are always there in case I need them. I am also there for them......Lastly I want to get to the point of thanksgiving and that would be the most important part.....It is the "giving" part. This is the most important part because it is not about what we can get or be thankful for, it is about being thankful for the chance to give. We are called to give, give, give and this is no exception. Believe me I could do better in all aspects of thanksgiving.....and I pray that I have the opportunity to do so this year and throughout the whole year. We should live in this thanksgiving manner every second of every day of every week of every month of every year for our lives......

Economy

I have been really wondering how what is happening right now in this country will affect us in the present and the future. For us who are on the brink of finishing school and trying to get a job we are in some ways fortunate and in some ways cursed. We better than the people ahead of us are in a spot to really try and look into the future and see what jobs will be in higher demand at the time we graduate. We for the most part do not have 401ks and see the problem with the whole system. We can see the writing on the wall and try and plan our immediate future around that fact. I do not think we really understand though how dire the situation is........I am definitely not a pessimist at all, but this is very real and we have to take a step back and seek God for guidance through this time. We have to lean upon him for provision and peace, now and in the future. I am on my way to getting married here really soon and when I think of the step I am about to take, it makes me realize how dependent we are. Dependent on so many levels. I am about to take on the responsibility of another person. I will be the head of our household and will depend on God to lead me through that aspect of my life. Just as God is the head of the Church, I must be the head of the household. If I had it to do over, I would be in the energy field instead of the architecture field. I am in the architecture field for a godly reason, that I still have to figure out. Maybe I never will, but I thank God for blessing me with the opportunities I have been and will be involved in. I don't mind not knowing the reasoning behind where I am at right now because of the fact that I trust God with my life and know the plans He has for me are for good. Anyway I think that the energy industry will drive our country in the near future. We have to change the way we power the world and that will start in the U.S. I think. We have to be the light of the world and show the way......We have for the past 200 years, and I hope that God continues to use this country to protect his followers throughout the world. I think that oil, coal, natural gas, etc... Are temporary and God has given us an energy source that does not hurt our earth, but merely is natural and right in front of our face. Whether that is nuclear power, solar power, wind power....or something that we have yet to find...it is there we just have to forget about the way things have been done and try new things. If we do that our economy will not fail simple.

School...........

Right now I am sitting in school wishing I was at work. I do not mind school and I love to learn new things. This semester is really starting to get to me though. Physics, Non-Major Bio, American History, and Music.........All of which are extremely easy yet needed to graduate from SIUC. I hate these classes. I feel so out of place because I do not care about any of these classes one bit. I care enough to do well enough to keep my GPA up, but other than that I just space out during class and then teach myself how to do the stuff before the tests. I absolutely cannot wait to start more Architecture in the spring. When I am doing Architecture I am centered and I feel at one with myself. I can not wait to do something great. I always pray that God will use me in great ways. With my knowledge of Architecture and the associated fields I hope that God will lead me to really make a difference for those who have less. I will go where he leads me.

Halloween

It is a question that is asked every year by Christians everywhere. Is it ok to participate in Halloween tradition of trick or treat. I have heard it from both people who think that it is ok and can be non sinful and I have heard it from others who think that we as Christians are not suppose to take part in it. Let me know what your thoughts are.

Linux nothing more to say just Linux

I just installed Linux on my parent's computer. Not only will it run a lot better/faster for them it is secure and 100% free. It is the best for people like them that only listen to music, watch videos, and browse the net. I really suggest having Linux on your system no matter what. I have my system as dual boot, meaning that when it starts up it gives me an option to boot into Linux or Windows. Most of the time I boot into Linux and leave Windows for stuff like work because the software I need only runs on Windows (which shouldn't be that way). Anyway, if you would like to try it out let me know and I can try and walk you through the process. It really is not a big deal and anyone can do it with a little help from someone who has done it before. Without getting too detailed I will say that it would be smart for you to start looking into Linux for serious security reason in the future. Not trying to scare anyone, but everyone needs to be as safe with their information as possible, especially financial information. There is not a better OS than Linux at keeping your stuff safe. Oh yeah and it has some serious eye candy in it as well. Stuff like 3D desktop and rain and all kinds of stuff just check out some of the stuff you can do with Linux.

Fireproof

I went and seen the movie and totally forgot to blog about it. Well I thought that the acting was a little eehhhh bad I guess. Oh well look past that and get down to the message of the movie and it was awesome. It is so refreshing to see a movie come out that offers a hope for failing marriages. In a world that tries to tell couples that they can't last this movie defies that and shows that with God anything is possible. Definitely worth buying when it comes to DVD. If for nothing else to support the making of more positive movies like it.

What's up?

Nothing here just waiting for the end of the day to get here. I have been busy lately with tests and work and haven't really had the time to think let a lone post something. I have a few minutes before I leave for the day so I thought I would post. I have almost decided who I will vote for. I can not bring myself to vote for either Obama or McCain. I have heard the wasted vote opinion and also the lesser of two evils opinion and I am not going for either one of them. First off I do not think either of these men are Godly men just by the fruits that they bear. I do not trust either one of them and I will not believe in them or put faith in them, because I do not believe that Jesus is their God. Anyhow I have decided to either write Ron Paul on the ballot or to vote for Chuck Baldwin. The Constitution Parties platform is very radical and it puts Jesus Christ at the center. Please think twice before voting for McCain or Obama, ask yourself who is most Godly person that could occupy the position.

Health

Over the past few months Tiff and I have began really looking at health from a different perspective. I have spent more time in the organics section than most people and I really want to start to eat more organic. I now eat organic cereal, drink organic milk, and I am now starting to drink a juice called Naked. Tiff started drinking a drink called Mona-Vie this past week and hopefully will see the health benefits over the next couple of months and throughout our life. Really to me the only reason I do not eat 100% organic is the price and the availability to do so. I can get by for breakfast and lunch, but with Kroger being the main organic supplier it is hard to make a lot of different meals out of the small section they do have. I want to open your eyes to what you eat and drink because it has a direct impact on you as soon as you take it into your body. It effects every physical aspect of who you are and if it is something this important don't you want to make sure that you are doing it right?

2001-2005 Worship songs

I am trying to compile a list of some worship songs that we all used to sing back in high school. I heard My Glorious the other day and it got me searching for songs we used to sing at Fusion, Quest, Church, CIY, ICTC, Mission trips with Cassetto leading worship, and anything else you can think of. Just throw out some songs. I heard Breathe and also Beautiful. If you may remember Beautiful was played at CIY our second year it was the opening song and they had a sheet up and they played a video on it and when the song picked up the sheet dropped and a band was playing the song. Long Haul was the band. Good times! Let me know some songs! Peace in Christ

Right now

Lately I have been putting up videos that I find that I like. I do this not because I have nothing to say, but because I have a hard time pouring myself out on these social networking sites. I feel like we all have a lot of stuff going on deep inside of us and this stuff should really be kept between yourself and a few close people in your life. I am not saying that I will not get on here and ramble about what is going on in my life, but I really do not want to expose the world to my heart. If you are close enough to me I am pretty transparent and I will talk openly to you about where I am in my walk with God and also what is tugging and tempting me in life..... To be honest I just get on here to see what is going on with my friends and stuff. I have no real use for this website. It is just a way to try and stay close to people I consider my good friends. I also want to share stupid stuff I find on a day to day basis on the internet. I enjoy watching funny videos and keeping up on world affairs. I will post stuff every now and then about myself, but this is not what I use the internet for. If I want someone to be involved in one of crisis' I will contact them and ask for help. On to the real post.

Lately I have been working on a development project for the company I work for. This is a pretty big redevelopment and I am enjoying it greatly. I really work on this stuff and lose track of time and find myself leaving work at 7 and posting something on my blog before I head out, kind of like tonight. Right now I am listening to David Crowder radio on Pandora. I love David Crowder! What a good band. The song is, "You Never Let Go." How true is that? God never lets go of us who are followers of Christ! I will say this. My life is in a major transition period. I know that many of us college students are in a major transition period. In the near future we will do a lot of things. We will find a job, get married, possibly have kids, and find a place to settle down. Is there a book we can buy that lays out each step that we should take? Probably, but I have a differently alternative that is specifically just for me. Pray, listen to God, and follow his will for my life. Thus far he brought me here. While I may not have been seeking his guidance on every moment, I have on all of the big decisions in my life. I will continue to do so. I suggest that if you are not in line with God's will that you make it your life's goal to submit to his grace. It is what we are meant for.

Good verse

"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is — His good, pleasing and perfect will."

Been awhile

So it has been a while since my last post. I have not been posting for a couple reasons. First off, I have been a busy guy. With my new position comes more responsibility and more hours at work. I find myself here until 8:00 most nights. I have started working out at a little weight room here at work. I run and do stuff on the crossbow. I enjoy it. It is a good chance for me to get my mind off of things. My job has been anything but slow over the past few weeks. I had to train the new guy, then I had some Architecture work that came through and kept me busy. I then had some problems I had to tend to. This all is not to mention that school has started and I have to deal with homework and studying some nights. Well I would rather be busy then bored so I definitely ok with where I am at right now. A lot of people think that things are going to get bad around the country soon, but I keep my head up. They think that there will be famine and worse. I say that whatever happens I know that the Lord will be by my side. I hold tight to Christ no matter what. Thank him for every day, good and bad. I hope if you read this that you know to put your hope and future in Jesus Christ, because no man in this world will save you. Let me put it this way. A lot of people have faith in the next President to save them from hardship. A lot of people have faith in the economy, and then a lot of people have faith in themselves. People have faith in all kinds of things. Let me put this as bluntly as I can. There is not one person or entity on this Earth that is worth your faith. I do not have faith in the President nor do I have any kind of faith in people. They will always fail you. I have one faith and faith only and that is in Jesus Christ. Now I am not saying that he will keep me from having hardships and tribulations, but I am saying that I have faith that through all the trials in my life that he will keep me at peace and understanding. I will have the strength to make through the day knowing that when I come out on the other side, there Jesus will be waiting for me. I am a very happy person and I look forward to every day. I smile a lot and I do not try and think of the evil this world is ate up with. I keep my mind focus on here and now and I always praise God in everything I do. I am a sinner and I fail God, but it is by the mercy of God that he sent a Savior to take my place. Thank Jesus for dying for me and you. Without Him there would be no hope for the future.

Other than that I have been trying to find time to relax and spend time with my Fiancee. I look forward to seeing her everyday and am very blessed to be able to do so. I can not wait until we get married and move out on our own. I feel like the time is drawing near for us to make our own way in this world. I can not wait. We are definitely preparing very heavily for the days ahead and hope that God will give us wisdom in this time so we do not stumble and fall, but that we make sound decisions and we follow what would be Godly advice. Until next time.....Have a good one and Jesus Saves!

Up and coming

So the next month will present some new and exciting challenges for me. On Monday I take over as head of the CAD department for my company and I will have my hands tied. Let's just say that not that long ago our department employed four people. Through different changes it was dwindled down to my boss and I. Well last week my boss accepted a position with another company and this past Friday was his last day. Now I step in and try to handle work that is usually done by two people and most of the work I just learned last week. This should be interesting to say the least. We'll see how things work out in the next couple of weeks. I am sure that I will be venting on here frequently. As far as my relationship with God goes, I am going to try a thing called the 60 challenge. It is a challenge to try and spend a few moments with God in prayer or song every hour at the top of the hour. This should not be a problem since I can listen to music at work and also can close my door whenever I need to. I hope to be closer and closer to God everyday I do this. I start doing this on Monday which just so happens to be the day that I become very busy. Draw me close to you God!

Another Monday

Well here is Monday again bringing with it a new week. Not sure what to expect for this week. A lot could and probably will happen. Lets just say if my work place is a pot of kool aid it is about to get stirred. In one of my recent posts I mentioned that this year will be very interesting and this is one reason why. I guess I am as ready for it as can be expected given the circumstances. If you could say a quick prayer that God would guide me through the next month with strength and peace because I am going to need it. God is in control of this roller coaster and I know that it will stay on track, but I just hope it is not such a bumpy ride. Anyway a side from all that I have been helping Tiff house sit for the past weekend. Not that it is a two person job, but she likes for me to help because it is a big house and she is kind of timid when it comes to being home alone. Their dog is the coolest dog in the world and I wish I had one. Other than that school will start soon which is exciting, but it will only add fuel to my already large fire. Oh well I think I can handle it. I keep you posted! Have a good one!

In Christ.

Good song

Good bye July

Where did you go? Before I know it I will start back at school again. I cannot wait! If I could make money going to school I would do it. Not saying that I want to teach, but I love learning new things. I learned a lot during my semester at Carbondale and can't wait to go back. Although you have to go to school now with a constant filtering of the junk that a lot of people try and feed you. Especially at a University where you have everything from Muslims to Hill Billies. I really think this will be a very interesting year. I do not want to get off on politics and this country, but doesn't just feel like something big is about to happen? It makes me excited, but nervous at the same time. I have faith that God will shelter and protect his children. It will be very interesting to see myself this time next year. I love summer, but I can not wait until Fall. It is a very exciting time of year. I guess I should get to work. This is your typical slow Friday and it does not seem like the weekend will ever get here. Have a good one!

Monday....

Haven't posted since last week, so I thought I would ramble a bit. This past weekend was alright, not too busy. So far today is your typical slow moving boring Monday. I have been working on a new concept for a building and so that was consumed my time for the most part. It looks like the road for the Cardinals does not ease up too much till mid august whenever they play Cincy. If the Cardinals come out of the next month within 5 games of first I think they can make the playoffs, if they are 5 or more I think it will be tough tough to make it. Go Cards! Other than that looking forward to school starting again, something different I guess. This looks to be a busy upcoming Fall for me with 18 credit hours and work piling up. Hopefully I will keep my head above water. We'll see. I bought a cheap set of golf clubs two weeks ago and have had time/money to go once. I cannot wait to go again, but it looks like this weekend might be my Dark Knight weekend. I have yet to see it and with so much talk about it I figured that it would be the one to go see. I enjoyed Batman Begins quite a bit, so this one should be good too. I hope this week is good for you and me both! Until next time have a good one!

The game

Went to the game last night! Awesome seats! Thanks Huff. It was a great time, too bad C.C. was a beast and we could not hit jack. Oh well at least I got to see a Cy Young award winner pitch. Hopefully the Cardinals can come out tonight and spoil the sweep. Although they are going up against Sheets who is a Cy Young caliber pitcher so this might be a dog fight. Go Cards!

Just another work day

I am by no means saying that work is where I want to be right now, but I am saying that I like my job. I do not think I would stay anywhere if I did not like it. Whenever I get up in the morning I do not get down because I am heading to work. There are some pessimists here at work just like any other job and that kinda stinks because I am around them on a daily basis, but I try to make them see the good in life not always the bad. I like that there are a couple of Christians here that I can talk to about my walk with Christ. It definitely helps the job outlook whenever you share the same beliefs as your co-workers. I know it is probably against the rules to post blogs 30 minutes into a work day and I know I am blessed to be able to work in a place that does not in force the rules like a prison. I do not think the majority of our lives should be spent in a work place that makes you unhappy. One day I hope to have my own Architecture Firm where I can in force the rules and make it just a great place to live and work. I like to think I look at buildings differently than most people. Think of it this way. Each building has its own integrity and it is its own form. It has molded by mind one day and no matter what no one building is the same, they make look the same but like twins somehow they are different. I love to face challenges on a daily basis and I hope that everyday I come to work there is a new one that awaits me. It just makes the day go by faster. I love to be taught new things and hope in life that I never stop learning. If I come across something that I do not know I search and search until I find the answer. I like that the internet is so full of information, it makes find an answer that much faster and easier. I know the internet is good and bad at the same time, but what isn't? We are on a sinful world and you cannot get around that so I try and expose the good in the internet and one good thing is the amount that a person can learn on here. Well our company is having a going away brunch for a fellow co-worker who is jumping ship. I guess until I have more to rant about.....

Have a good one!

Next post

It has been a few days since my last post, but a lot has happened. I would first like to say that this world has a lovely veil that is uses to hide its evil side. For a long time I have put my personal walk with Jesus on the back burner and lived a life that is pleasing to me. It is funny, because as I did this I created all these excuses to justify getting further and further from the truth. In talks with people who do not share my truths I found myself being somewhat tolerant of what they were saying. They were having a bigger impact on me than I was having on them. This is wrong because I know in my heart that they are not correct. I will put it this way, there is only one way to heaven and to the Father and that is through my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Many people in this country/world believe that all religions lead to the same higher power. I think about all this now and I just laugh, because it is so opposite of the truth. It is what this world wants you to think, but it is false and I urge you to reconsider and turn from this way of thinking. I have been changed and I will never look back, because it is a dark and deep inviting place.

Now this brings up what has changed in my life since my revelation. I am back in the word of God on a frequent basis along with talking to God on an everyday basis. I see things differently and it transforms me into a new person. For a long time I got angry easily and was frustrated at all times. It seemed like my Joy had been stripped away from me. I now smile more and am eager to let people know that I love them through my actions. This could go on for some time so I am going to wrap it up and get to work, because I am getting paid to write this blog. I was beginning to follow a sinfully motivated world and it was turning me into a person that I did not want to be. I was in darkness and now God has brought me into light!

Glory be to God for his mercy and forgiveness! Drink from this fountain and never be thirsty again! This world will always leave you wanting more and more, because it states that you can never accumulate enough wealth, property, and power. This is all just junk, because it is only for this world. Focus on making a difference in the lives of people around you and store your treasures in Heaven!

Mulder now the underdog

Mulder has everything going against him. He is in a position that he has never been in. The underdog role. He is now fighting with everything he has available. I hope he comes out tonight and pitches the game of his life. I am rooting for Mulder so hard I might just simulate every pitch. Go Mulder! Go Cardinals!

Pujols

Recently I traded Albert Pujols for Jason Giambi, Manny Ramirez, John Maine, and Yunel Escobar. I then traded Yunel Escobar for Bobby Jenks. Was this a good move on my part? I think so. I added alot of power to my lineup. I know that the move will bring down my average a little, but lately I have been winning that category and losing categories like Runs, RBI's, and Doubles

Pujols

Albert Pujols recently injured his calf and was on the 15-Day DL. Albert is set to come off the DL on Thursday and is hopeful to be in the lineup. The Cardinals have done a nice job without Sir Albert and things can only get better. Albert is still in the running for the All-Star Game and I hope that he makes the team.

Boyce Avenue

Many people cover songs and bands to try and get their name out in the music world. Boyce Avenue is one of the bands do not only get their out in the music world, they beat the music world. Many of their covers are better than the originals. I listen to all their covers, because they take different styles of music and make it their own. They take R&B, Hip Hop, Country, Rock, etc... and make it their kind of music. This is the style I like and to me it sounds better than the original artists.

Future of TV and Movies

I have been watching online TV Shows and Movies for quite some time now and I wonder what is keeping a service like HULU from acquiring a lot more movies for viewing online. I realize all the copyright jargin, but with the growing number of people watching videos online wouldn't be beneficial to have a more extensive library. I think the internet and the way we find entertainment will change drastically over the next five years. It seems that the internet is getting faster and faster. Hopefully soon we can enjoy High Def video online with our DSL service. I look for things like HULU to pop up all over the place and I hope that everyone is on board.

Movies

This past weekend I watched a few movies and here is what I thought.

The first movie was Don't Mess with the Zohan which I watched on Friday night at the theater. I chuckled a few times during the movie, but I thought it had no laugh out loud moments in it. It was over done with the whole Middle Eastern conflict fiasco. I thought that it was a step backward for Adam Sandler. I realize that he is Jewish and has a history of Jewish humor. It just was not for me and I will more than likely never watch the movie again.

The second movie was The Shawshank Redemption. I had never seen this movie before and I regret not watching sooner. It was a great movie through and through.

The third movie was Strange Wilderness. I watched most of the movie and laughed quite a bit. I did not make it through the entire movie however because I fell asleep. That is not saying anything about the movie, I was just tired.

The final movie was Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins. I enjoy this type of humor very much. It is not funniest movie Martin Lawrence has been in. It was rich with family values and family fun. It was worth watching, but definitely not worth buying.

Software ramblings

Instead of writing my thoughts down on paper I thought I would write a post.

I think that Autodesk should make Revit a little more innovative. For instance, if I am working on a project and I am designing or revising certain aspects of the building, I think it would be useful/cool for Autodesk to make it possible for multiple people to access a drawing file at the same time. Maybe this already exists and I don't know about it, if so give me the details. I also think that within this multiple user interface that each file could link to a meeting place where you could chat about the building and work together towards completing the project. I think that it would save time and money because you could literally have a meeting about the design without leaving your computer. The technology is there to have a web cam type conference within the drawing as well. You could each talk face to face without having to drive and meet or print out plans etc. It would in turn help the environment and the project costs for obvious reasons. This is the next step and if it has already been taken then I am 100% on board. Lets bring architectural software up to speed in order to help control cost and to be more productive across the scope of each project.

Innovation

I realize that we have made some great strides in construction, materials, and design over the past 100 years, but are we really where we should be? To me I do not think there is enough minds at work developing great products for builders that cut cost, stay green, and are easy to work with. Lets face it, we have a long way to go to catch up with technology as far as innovation goes, but if technology advances and everything else stays dormit, then won't technology eventually plateau? Tell me what you think and lets begin talking about innovation not only for architecture and the related industries, but everything that needs innovation.

Green Architecture

What does the term Green Architecture mean? How do you achieve a green building? Is there a standard set to consider a building to be green? Is this the style of our generation? When people look back 100 years from now will they consider us the Green Architecture generation just like we say Gothic or Greek Architecture?
