Picnic at the park

We tend to have a lot of picnics at the park during summer (especially this summer since my goal is to get out of the house each day so Marty can sleep- he's working nights until mid-August). "Picnic at the park" was also on my "60 Days of Summer" list since I knew it would be an easy one to cross it off. These park pictures are from one of our favorite parks around here- Fort Imagination (also known as Woodland Park) in Perrysburg! 

I tried to keep the girls on the small playground for as long as I could, but after awhile we did venture to the big playground. Lucky for me- Grace is an excellent climber. Or maybe that means I'm not lucky? Well in this case, I was lucky since she didn't have any trouble getting around. It's a good day when nobody breaks an arm (or leg). The only trouble we had all day was me putting that dang headband in Lily's hair a million times. She HAS to have a bow or headband in her hair (her rules, not mine) and I guess she didn't mind having to stop her play and have me put it back in her hair over and over again.

Fizzing Chalk Paint

I found this recipe a few months ago and made sure I added it to our "60 Days of Summer" list. We've made chalk paint before but spraying it with vinegar to make it fizz added a little extra to it! Recipe on this blog:  Fizzing Chalk Paint Recipe

I only made two colors (pink for Lillian and blue for Grace) and let them paint whatever and however they wanted. Grace liked trying to paint bugs blue and Lily just wanted to try to cover everything pink. Since Grace can't really spray a water bottle (we've been practicing) Lily was the one who got to make everything fizz and bubble!

Surviving the Heat

The other day was 102 degrees outside. It was HOT! The girls, however, didn't mind the heat and so we stayed outside most of the day with the water table set up, sprinkler going, kiddie pool filled up high with water and I busted out the big bubble wands. After nap, we were able to hit Olander beach for an hour and half with daddy. We all slept good that night and even though I'm 8 months pregnant, the heat doesn't bother me too much. (I'm only used to being in my 3rd trimester during summertime.)

Sesame Place Day #2

The 2nd day of our visit to Sesame Place was even more fun since both girls knew what to expect and were excited for us eating lunch with "Elmo and Friends". The girls also got to wear their super cute dresses that Elle made them and matching bows that Kelly made them. We also played at the water park this day since it was so hot!

Grace wanted to go on the swings so badly too and kept saying "My turn swings!". She was allowed to go on the swings but I thought she would fall out the side since she is so small so I distracted her by turning the stroller away from the swings and giving her a bag of rice cakes...

I also let her drink all my water. Anything I could do to not realize that Lily was going on the swing ride over and over again!
