Happy New Year!

We did a little shopping at the Citadel Outlets during the day and stayed in to ring in the New Year. We enjoyed eating tostada's, watching movies, playing games with Brent, and throwing poppers. Gavin went to bed around 8pm and Brent followed around 9pm and we were in bed at midnight. I guess we are getting older and it is getting harder to stay up. Happy New Year Everyone!

Look Who's Walking

Gavin started to walk on Christmas Day, exactly at 11 months old. This is a video of his first steps.

Christmas Day

We started the morning with opening gifts from Santa and all the Grandma's. We enjoyed eating homemade cinnamon rolls and a bacon and cheese breakfast tart with Nana. Then it was time to start cooking our dinner, while I did this Ryan took Brent to see Yogi Bear. We had orange glazed ham, cheesy potatoes, broccoli, strawberry and avocado salad, homemade rolls, and for dessert a raspberry cream pie. We ended the day by watching movies.

Christmas Eve 2010

Tonight we went out to Chin Chin Chinese Restaurant in Brentwood for dinner. Can I just say how great it was not to cook. After wards we walked around in search for some dessert, per Brent's request. We ended up just eating chocolate chip cookies and drinking ice cold milk at home. We opened up gifts from each other.

Where's Perry!

We have gone to Target and Toysrus number of times in the last couple of weeks and Gavin has fallen in love with this toy Perry the Platypus from Phineas and Ferb. When we tried to take it out of his hands he held it tight and through a major fit, he has never done this with any other toy before. I hope Santa gets it for him.

Ward Christmas Party

We finally got Brent to see Santa and he let Gavin sit on his lap at our Ward Christmas Party. It was nice hanging out with friends and enjoying some great food. Also Big G got his first hair cut yesterday.

Early Christmas Present

Brent and I received an early Christmas present today from Grandma. We got 2 Star Wars aprons, kids cookbook, and cupcake accessories. Brent was so excited and wanted to make something from the cookbook right away. We made the ornament cupcakes out of the book but instead of making peanut butter chocolate chip we made chocolate, chocolate chip cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. Brent loved making them as much as he did eating one.

Christmas Party @ Preschool

Today was Brent's Christmas Party and gift exchange at school. The kids made these cute stockings out of paper. There was great food again and sugar cookies to decorate. Brent's received moving crab and turtle magnets.

Snowman Cookies!

Brent and I made our yearly Christmas cookies and this year we added Snowman cookies. I love listening to Brent and how his mind works. He loves making things and tasting each ingredient before I add it. He always ask "Am I going to like it?". I use to care too much about the mess and if he was doing it my way but now he does it his way. All of the Christmas tree cookies except for 2 were eaten last night before I could take a picture.

It's Looking a Lot Like Christmas

It has always been a tradition in my family to go and cut down a tree. So, today we decided to carry on the tradition with Brent and drove to Valencia to Nancy Ranch to cut down our Christmas tree. We are used to Douglas Fir's or Noble Fir's but in Southern California they don't grow so we have a Monterey Pine, which is close to a Douglas.

Candy Christmas Trees

Brent and I made these cute candy trees today. It only took 2lbs of sour belts and 2lbs of gum drops, a lot of tooth picks broken in half and 2 styrofoam cones. I did not have to worry about him eating the candy because Brent does not like candy that has sugar on it.

Gavin 10 Month Old

Gavin is growing too fast. He has been walking all around the furniture and can stand by himself for a minute. Ryan predicts that he will be walking by Christmas, we will just have to wait and see. When ever the camera is out you will find "Big G" right there with a smile on his face. Yes, his nickname is "Big G". To Brent that is his name and now others have started to call him that. While shopping, Gavin loves pulling tags off clothes and chewing on them. He loves dancing. He loves following his big brother around and wrestling with him. Still doesn't sleep through the night. I have come to realize that our kids just don't sleep and I have to deal with it. He loves bath time, especially when you are filling the tub because he can play in the stream of water coming out of the faucet. As soon as the front door opens he crawls as fast as he can to get out before it closes. He weighs about 22.9 lbs and is 31 3/4 inches long. He hates to get is diaper changed or his clothes for that matter, it takes forever to complete either task. You should see the fit he throws. We love you anyways.

While Ryan was Off...

Ryan started his 2 week vacation by taking the 3rd Board Exam for 2 days. Here is what we have been doing since:

Work on the Chair...

It was my goal to work on recovering our living room chair. Ryan moved the small table in the garage into our room, so I could sew in there and not have to keep putting it away. I finished the cushion before he went back. I feel that is progress, now we just have a miss matched chair.

We took Brent to see Megamind, which he loved seeing. Gavin slept most of the time.

We took the opportunity to go and get family pictures taken since the last time was when Gavin was 2 weeks old. When we walked in I notice Gavin on their display wall, they put up his pictures at 8 months. Brent asked, "Where are mine?"

Harry Potter...

Ryan and I were able to sneak away for several hours to see Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows, which was awesome.
