East Coast Visitors

We really loved getting so many visitors the past month!


We had fun going around town and to the zoo with Grandma & Papa Randy

And we got to meet Jared!

My friend -who is a photographer- found a new spot that she wanted to try out so I tagged along and watched the models work it while I snapped a few pictures on the sidelines.

We were bummed we didn't get to see Cami while she was on her adventure around the U.S., but we are looking forward to seeing her and everyone else in a few months!

San Diego

We had a great time in San Diego. We drove Thursday morning (about 5 1/2 hours) and we came home Saturday evening. We stayed at the Omni hotel in downtown San Diego. We were right next to the Padres baseball field and there was a game both nights we were there. Thursday night was not as crowded as Friday night, but parking was tricky. We went to La Jolla and walked around the beach with our hoodies on. Friday we went to the temple and then to Torrey Pines golf course to putt. We then went to the glider port and watched the hang gliders for awhile. Saturday morning we went to Old San Diego and went to the visitors center for the Mormon Batallion. They remodeled it and it is a great place to learn that part of church history. It's an interactive tour, so that kids enjoy it as well. Outside they can 'pan for gold' and learn how bricks are made. We ended our stay by driving to Coronado island and walking on the beach in front of the old Del Coronado hotel (its huge)---lots and lots of people in California and I don't think it was just because of the 4th of July weekend. I'm sure Matt would have had more fun with his siblings and nieces and nephews but we'll have to plan more of those trips when he returns.

Good News!!! I will soon need one of these.....

That's right, folks! We finally have our loan in place at work and will break ground soon. Now I just need to decide if magenta or bubble gum will work better with my wardrobe, and perhaps invest in a real measuring tape. For some reason the subs laugh when I pull out my tape with purple flowers.
