The rest of June!

After our trip to San Francisco, we settled in to our summer!  On this lazy morning, Macie managed to get herself into the doll stroller!  She was quite proud and comfortable!

She also really, really loves to swing!

...especially when someone is swinging next to her!

She loves doing what the big kids can do!   

Emily has completely mastered the art of swinging without any help and can swing for hours at a time!

SF: Family Time!

It was so nice to be around Jim, Kari, Charlie, Grace and Olivia!  We had many opportunities to just hang out...Macie enjoyed a ride on Uncle Jim's shoulders!  He hadn't held her since she was a newborn and the rest of his family hadn't met her at all until this trip!

The girls gave the kids a heck of a ride on the tire swing! 

First borns:  Aaron had some quality time watching soccer with Charlie!

Second borns:  Grace and Emily enjoyed a fun board game! 

Third borns:  Let's be honest.  After snapping the first two pictures, I forced this one to happen!

Congratulations to Charlie on his high school graduation and to Olivia for her 8th grade advancement!  We were so happy to be there to help celebrate!

SF: Pier 39 and the Exploratorium

The last sight on my SF bucket list was Pier 39...home of the infamous sea lions!  When Josh and I went 7 years ago, I couldn't get enough of their inappropriate noises and dopey behavior so I knew the kids would love it!  They weren't as active this time as I remember them being, but the kids still got a kick out of seeing them!

After Pier 39, we met up with Jim, Kari and the girls and headed over to the Exploratorium...a really neat science museum for kids of all ages!  Poor Macie was exhausted...Daddy's arms to the rescue! 

This "exhibit" was titled "Sip of Conflict."  I couldn't bring myself to do it, but the other Orahood girls were all in! 

This exhibit was neat.  The walls were some sort of light sensitive material.  The kids would stand against it and every thirty seconds a bright light would flash.  They could step away and see their shadow still there! 

I love how Emily and Grace are doing the same pose, but opposite.  As far as I know, it wasn't planned!

We had a great time showing the kids our highlights, but now on to the real reason we were in SF!

SF: Golden Gate Bridge

#2 on my SF trip bucket list needs no introduction...

(that is not a wall on a precipice...on the other side is a sloping hill)

It was super windy, but a beautiful day!

This guy was taking pictures with Daddy's phone...

And one can only guess what this mischievous little face was thinking at that moment!

Josh followed a route down to a harbor and we got another perspective...so beautiful!

Just on the other side of the bridge from SF, in Marin County, is Sausalito.  It is an adorable town and we were more than excited to stop there for lunch! 

The kids got tired as we searched for just the right restaurant...thankfully, Daddy's arms were available!

Quick rewind...on our way through the city to the bridge, we realized we were right near Lombard Street.  Lombard street is famous for this portion that turns back and forth eight times!  There are even houses lining the street, but it appears that traffic is constantly moving through by those of us who just had to try it out!  Josh felt quite accomplished having driven down it in the gigantic Suburban we rented!
