Soni and school

Sumukh is growing up.He is almost 8 months and he is crawling at full speed and into
everything. He has started pulling up and ready to stand by himself.

I wonder where the time has gone. He is not a baby anymore and though I am happy he is growing into an individual with some attitude(:-D) but part of me is sad to look at him grow up so soon. Now everytime someone interacts with him, I get asked if Soni used to do the same thing-like crawl at 6 months or babble at 7 months like Sumukh does..Soni is not yet 2.5 and I often pause for a minute when people ask me such questions and I find myself turning back at the pages of my journal at night to see if she has met the mile stones like my son does.So I guess it's time to document some things online too which would make my life easy.Afterall that is why technology is for.Right?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Often I get asked by people that how life is with two kids under two..and ofcourse most of them answer the question themselves saying thaT it should be hands full with these kids and what a busy mom I am:-)I just laugh away.I also get unsoilicited advice that I must enroll Soni into day care from when she was not even two.
Yes!life with two kids close apart is definitely challenging. But I am loving every minute of it and would never take these blessings for granted. I believe I have these wonderful people for a right reason in my life and THANK GOD FOR EVERYTHING.So my point was I never wanted her to go to school just because I am finding it difficult to manage her. I wanted her to go to school when she is ready.I always felt 'three' is the right time for her but little did I know that my princess would be so ready for the big day this soon. So typically my day starts with me waking up and freshening up, finish cooking , packing lunck for K, fixing breakfast for him.I am a mean wife who is very particular when it comes to food. I insist eating proper nutritious home cooked meals. So I do not give my poor husband a choice to eat outside. So After he leaves, the day continues with attending to kids' needs.

When Sumukh takes his first nap, I get to sit down with Soni teaching, playing with her. That's how she has learnt all her ABC'S.She can recognize all the letters in any order and can count till 20.Thanks to her 30 minute tv sessions which taught her Spanish too.she counts in spanish to my dismay:-)..she has learnt few God's chants including Mrityunjaya mantra. She pesters me to read all the books for her for umteeth time. So she goes to library and takes part in every play a 2 year old should. She can sing all rhymes and I am out of list to teach her any new ones. Now her latest activity is to watch Hindi songs(ofcourse I mean kids' songs)and sing to me. She draws circles and tries to draw all other shapes like square and diamond and insists I recognise those shapes correctly. So that's tricky :-).She hums all day along with perfect sruthi that I am seriously thinking to enroll her in classical music classes.

Anyway, I have run out of ideas to engage her. She has started getting bored at
home and insists me to call someone so that she can talk. I started feeling sorry for her and decided that it's time for her to go to school. She often talks about school(thanks to her 15 year old friend)and tells me she want to ride a bus to school and would wish 'Good morning' to teacher and let teacher know that she wants to use potty in English and would be nice to friends at school. So that's how my search for her school began.

Mixed emotions

"Amma tammu paalu kammi..Ammaa tammu paalu kammi" I wake up startled with this scream of my toddler and run to the next bedroom to nurse my boy.
Well! I nursed Suku(That's my boy's blog name:-) ) around 2.00 am and decided to nap for a while. So I asked K to sleep with Suku while I slept with Soni.I decided to wake up around 4.00 to check Suku but fell asleep.
So as I am nursing Suku I was filled with emotions ..the first one was how could I fall asleep amidst baby's screaming with hunger. As I was feeling bad about this another emotion dominated my first.
Soni has started to speak 4-5 word sentences.
"Amma tammu paalu kammi" kept ringing in my ears..

I am so proud of you my munchkin:-)

Nine months

It's been long and eventful journey all way along for past nine months. I have had good days, very eventful days and unpredictable days all along with my little toddler. I had happy moments, tired moments, very tired moments and very very tired moments these nine months. It was not easy to keep up with my very active , naughty, always on the go toddler last nine months. It was challenging to keep my toddler entertained with books, trips to library and parks while being tired all day along. But I am so glad that I finally made it to the final big day January 18th and the result is so worth it.
Finally K and I are the proud parents to a beautiful baby boy Sumukh. My toddler is the proud big sister..she can't get enough of him:-)
Shall update the rest of the story soon..
