Two is better than one

I feel as though things have been happening in two's lately. I like the number two. After all, most things I do around the house, I end up doing twice. I brush two little munchkins teeth every day, I clean two little filthy kiddos in the bath, I fill up two sippy cups, I wash two faces, I put on two pairs of shoes, jammies, and spiderman shirts, I buckle two carseats, I say two bedtime prayers, I get two sets of hugs and kisses, I send two little boys to nursery each Sunday, and when things go wrong, I get two meltdowns. Somehow beyond the two little boys that call me mom, my life has experienced some duplicity as well. Like when I went to Boise and took two pictures of my little brother wearing a speedo.

Apparently speedos aren't what they used to be. Still funny though. We went to my brother's swim meet (is that how you spell that?). And I lied. I took enough pictures of him in his tight spandex swimsuit to fill an entire blogpost, but I wouldn't do that. :)
Shopping with two, is definitely harder than with one. Thanks goodness for those handy-dandy shopping carts that seat two.

Apparently shopping for bridal shower stuff isn't that stimulating for boys. Now if only both of them would have fallen asleep. Oh well, I'll take what I can get.

I've attended two bridal showers for my darling little sister Marianne. I even helped host one. She is getting married in less than a month. Two hearts will be bound as one. . . but only one hilarious picture of my mom goofing around in the car on the way to the shower.

Garret's sweet mom got Marianne and Garret each a present at the shower. Man, they are a cute couple. Two bags filled with honeymoon goodies.

And two trips to the temple with my cutie pie sister. Once in Bountiful and once in Boise.

Two dorks.

Two bouquets of fabulous gerber daisies from my sweetheart. Once while at home, and some delivered to my mother's house while I was away from him. I was so sad to leave the flowers home that Keith decided he better send me some more. That is one sweet hubby.

Isn't that a beautiful arrangement? The bride isn't that bad either.

And spending time with my sister Wendy is the best! We are two goofballs! Two crazy kids. Two girls that need to set a bed time next time they have a slumber party.

Benson and Griffin have recently re-discovered our baby swing. Unfortunately I didn't get Griffin's picture, but both of them like to swing in it.

Ah yes, don't forget the double meltdowns. Here's one.

Two innocent faces wearing mom's red shoes around the house.
Two crazy brothers who love each other more than anything. I'm loving this double life.

September 11 . . . A day to celebrate!

I know we can all think back to where we were and what we were doing on the morning of September 11, 2001. I was in my apartment in Logan Utah and was awakened by my roommate who happened to be from New Jersey and had worked across the street from the twin towers the summer before. Keith was on his mission in New Hampshire celebrating his 20th birthday! Although I do my best to remember and say a prayer for those who died that day, mostly around here we celebrate! We celebrate our hero, my hubby, Benson and Griffin's dad! Keith is the best! We love celebrating him! And even though I know Keith won't read this (he isn't really a blog fan, or at least he claims he isn't), here are some reasons why we love our dear 28 year old Keith!

He designed this (a.k.a. he is a genius).

He is always good for a snuggle and a nap.

He's incredibly good looking.

He is funny. Seriously, look at that face.

He's hot. Oh wait, did I already mention that? How about, he's really fun to be with.

He is a good son to his mom and dad.

He's really attractive. I mean, he's got mad skills and really nice arms.

He is the best dad in the world. The boys worship him.

He is very pleasing to the eyes. . . and he plans the best vacations! He is sooooooo fun to travel with! He even surprises me with trips sometimes!

And he is my bestest friend. My match in every way. Happy Birthday dear sweet Keith. I love you!

Sick, Sick, Sick!

I hate that it has been so long since my last post. Sometimes I feel like I think in blog posts and want to put them on here, but somehow time slips away from me (or my computer charger won't work, so I can't use it). The last few weeks have been insane! I did survive Girls Camp and have since realized how much I love my primary callling! Hahaha, I really did enjoy myself at camp . . . minus the whole camping and smelly part. Seriously what has made it all worth it is hearing those sweet girls tell me how wonderful it was, but more importantly, the way their testimony of the gospel grew! Love that!

So, we had a week of Girls Camp where my boys stayed with my SIL Mary. They had a blast. Then when I got home, my mom and dad begged to take the boys for a few days so I could recover from my camping excursions. I don't know how they convinced me to do it (I will claim exhaustion), but they of course had a glorious time with their crazy grandparents!

Then Keith and I drove to Boise for a very quick trip to pick up our kiddos. We enjoyed a nice "Staycation" while the boys were gone . . . going to movies, eating out late at night, remembering why we got married. It was a nice little anniversary gift from my parents. I love my mom!
While we were in Boise, my dad convinced us all to take the babies rafting. He told us we could take them down a river that was very calm and what he called just a "float." I guess I should have considered the source, since my dad goes white water rafting in February, but it was certainly a little more intense than we had planned on. Needless to say we survived and even had a little fun (mostly just making fun of the many boyfriends we saw fishing on the river). Check out my cute little family preparing for our rafting adventure (we're smiling because we had no idea what we were in for).

After the trip, we all decided it was time to get sick. Benson threw up on the way home (that was fun) and Keith could hardly function. I took Benson to the Dr. to discover he had pink eye that quickly developed into an ear infection, his first one! Keith went to the Dr. for bronchitis and I also was lucky enough to get a double ear infection. We're prepping Griffin to go to the Dr. today as I am certain he has something now (he got pink eye soon after Benson).
In the midst of all of this, we were also asked to speak in church with a few days notice (have I mentioned Keith recently got called to be the Elders Quorum President?), Keith decided it would be fun to start a new business, and we had some fun company in town for Labor Day weekend. I would like to clarify that I am not complaining. In fact, I have felt more blessed lately than ever. Trials and speed bumps in life are blessings right? I most certainly know that God loves us and is watching out for my sweet little family. So although we have indeed been sick, we are happy, we are blessed, we are together, and we are almost done with our antibiotics.
