I have another blog that I do my more personal journal on. I just came across this post that I wrote almost 4 years ago. It is such a good lesson for me, I thought I would repost it :)
I, by nature, am a person that worries. I have learned that only with in the last year but my whole life I have always been that way. So since I have figured that out I have really been trying to learn to not worry. Last year before Kembri was born I remember sitting in the Las Vegas temple and I had been so worried because we weren't in a home, we were still in Vegas and I had a baby coming. The whole summer I remember when I would pray about things I always felt like I need to just not worry about things, that the lord will take care of things if I pray and do what I feel I need to but not to just sit around worrying. Well that is a really hard thing for me to do, to not worry so I continued to worry :). I remember that day in the temple I felt that by me continuing to worry I wasn't having faith that Heavenly Father would take care of things.
So today as I was sitting in Relief Society we were talking about the Saviors Birth. We were talking about how he was born in a stable. The thought came to me of how I would have been if I was Mary. I would have been SO worried about having the Christ Child born in a stable. I would have been so worried and upset about that the spirit would not have been able be there as strong as it could have been. By my worrying, I could have possible changed the way that it was suppose to happen. Possibly I would have MADE Craig (or Joseph) continue to look until he found somewhere more suitable for the Savior to be born in. Yet that was not what Heavenly Father wanted. He wanted Jesus to be born in the stable. It just made me think of how to me to have a baby in a stable, or for our day in age, perhaps in a homeless shelter, I would feel like it was the worst thing possible but it wasn't it is EXACTLY the way it was suppose to be. I just thought so we can't give our kids EVERYTHING we want to give them, so what that's not the way it is suppose to be. I need to not worry about things. If I am drawing close to the spirit and following it's promptings then I will be in the right place when I am suppose to be.
Also I thought how Mary didn't think Hey I am pregnant doing the things that Heavenly Father wants me to do why won't he even give me a bed to have this baby in. So much in life we think this either in our actions or words. Why didn't Heavenly Father open up a room in the Inn? Because he wanted him to be born right there in the stable. We need to not question Heavenly Fathers plans. We can't see the big picture. He can. He does what is best and we need to not question it.
