my grandpa used to take my mom and sister out to dinner on Christmas eve since we were always with my dad. the tradition has continued and grown seeing as there were 15 people there this year! my grandpa is such a generous man!
anyway, these are pictures taken after dinner when my mom was playing with isaac. he sure gets the smiles when she comes around...but let's be honest, we all do -no, mom, i'm not making fun of you :)

...raspberries, anyone?

so he's doing raspberries now. it's hilarious. sometimes he starts right after he wakes up from a nap or instantly after he eats he'll start blowing. it's pretty entertaining.

on another note...i took him for his 4 month check-up. he was a couple days shy of being 4 and a half months and i don't know if they adjust the percentiles for that, but here are the stats. and yes, we have a big boy...but to be honest, i couldn't ask for anything more!
weight: 16.5 lbs (88th percentile)
height: 25 1/2 inches (84th percentile)
head: 43 cm (79th percentile)

isaac meets santa...

we took isaac to meet santa last night. it was the last night he would be visiting with children before he had to go to the north pole to finish getting ready for christmas! so we barely made it...with two hours to spare! isaac was a little sleepy, so he looks somber. i love his face in the group picture...it's kinda bah-humbug-ish. look at how well he's holding that candy cane, though!

double runs run in the family

a week or two ago my grandpa was playing with my mom as his partner and he got a double run. he was so funny about it because after that he didn't want to play another game. it's like he didn't want to taint his glory. about twenty minutes later he walked into the room and said, "the prodigal son has returned" which really makes no sense, but we all thought it was funny nonetheless. this guy is hilarious.
ps. notice the patch on his glasses....he's had that on for about three months i'd say. it's just another funny thing about grandpa. you ask him where his parrot is and he'll go "ARRRGH!" he says it so loud that it scares isaac :)

secret photo shoot

ok so i left for the store tonight to get isaac some baby orajel...yes my baby is teething...and this is what happens when i leave the house. derik probably feels like a goon doing this in front of me...actually i know he does so he sneaks the photo shoot while i'm gone so i can't make fun of him. little does he know they were totally blog-worthy. so, enjoy derik and all his silly faces...my favorites are the ones where isaac is like, "what the heck is going on here?"

he was sleeping and i went to change his diaper...he just looked at me all somber so i went down to give him a kiss and as i did he put his little tiny baby hands on the back of my neck. it was so cute.
