McCain-Palin Rally

Monday, October 13th

Wow! What a day....Jaime and I made plans to go to this over a week in advance. After reports that 15,000 + people were expected to attend, I decided to try another way to get in. I called the Tidewater News and offered my pictures in exchange for a press pass. They said YES! And, I"m so glad that they did, because that was certainly the way to go!!! At 6 a.m., there were already probably 2000 people in line...but we went to the press entrance, signed in, got swept by the secret service and in we went...to the taped off, press only area! At first, it looked like we had the perfect seats, and then, as the crowds began filing in, I was starting to worry. However, the speakers were on a platform and the press had a platform as well, so even though there were 100's of people between us-because we were on the same level, we definitely had the best seats in the house! I was able to see and hear absolutely everthing!

The crowd was very excited and came sporting their Republican Red-hats, shirts and the occassional red stiletto. And many were waving hand made signs, while most all the rest had campaign signs. It was very inspiring and exciting and America should definitely not count McCain out of this race!

is very nice after all the "pod people" go home!! Although, a bit cold for some of us to get wet!!

Giving Summer one last Hoorah!

After some warm days and some good rain, my big flower barrell that I thought was DONE for the season, took on a new life!

and, then my hummingbird bush bloomed too:

one of these might be my flower print for the year!

My Kitchen

I can't find the before pictures, but for those of you who've seen the white walled, store finished beadboard and light wood cabinets...how about this for something new??

I need to get the other lens to get the picture of the quote on the soffitt. It looks great and Hitler, ahem....Trey, helped me!

ETA: The colors look a little dark and drab on here, they're actually quite a bit brighter and I love it!
