A cat's perfect day

So, Willy is having a perfect cat day. He thinks the furniture we just bought is just for him.

David Copperfield

So, last September, my boss's wife planned ahead, she bought her husband tickets to see David Copperfield for his January birthday, for a February show in Atlanta. She had me block out his schedule, which I did. So, she gave him the tickets, and he didn't realize it, but he scheduled 2 BIG surgeries on that date, so - they couldn't make it. She called me around 3 pm on the day of the show and asked if Chris and I wanted the tickets. I felt so badly that he couldn't go, I had even reminded him the day before that he was off, I didn't remember why (I had blocked the reason out of my mind so I wouldn't spoil the surprise), and he kept telling me he wasn't off... So, I called Chris, we worked it out schedule wise and we went to the show.

It was AMAZING! You know there is a trick, but you can't figure out what it is. Your mind just can't absorb it as quickly as it happens.

He was very interactive with the audience, and even came down and chose the girl next to Chris to go up on stage, so we got very close to him. The show was relaxed, but very well rehearsed. We enjoyed the show and it ranks up there with one of the best we have ever gone to.

So, thanks for the tickets!! (Sorry you couldn't go). Everything was magical about that night. The traffic was perfect, we got in the HOV lane and cruised north. It is easy on, easy off. The seats were GREAT, the venue, the Cobb Energy Centre is fabulous, the seats were comfortable. When the show was over, we walked outside in the perfect weather and saw the crowd milling around and pointing up into the sky - the lunar eclipse was happening, so we got to stand there and watch it. The parking was great, we got a space close to the entrance and no one parked near us. No long lines leaving. Perfect traffic home - a magical night.

Contacts update

Well, I went back and they changed my contacts from Oasys to BioMedics - they said I was reacting to the first type. These are much more comfortable. She put me in mono-vision which means the contact in my left eye is for near vision and the one in the right eye is for distance. Well, I can see far off, and driving is good. I still can't read close up or read my computer screen. I was supposed to call her this week, but I had some other health issues come up and wasn't able to. I'll go back next week and see if they can tweak it a little.

Contacts

So, I've decided that I'm tired of my glasses after 9 years. I went and got fitted for contacts. This trial period is prooving to be very interesting! I've had all sorts of little complications, in addition to not being able to see my computer with them in (they are bifocals), but I can see so well when driving! It's like a new lease on life when I'm in the car, sounds a little silly, but true. I always feel like I bypass my glasses when I'm turning to look over my shoulder.

I've had trouble figuring out which is the right way for them to go in. I FINALLY spotted the 123 on the lens to help you out. Even the girl at the optical shop couldn't find it.

I had trouble getting one out the first night. Chris was coaching. After a while, we finally decided it wasn't in there. I got to laughing so hard and had my finger on the side of my eye, I guess I pushed it out - so it was there afterall. It the process of all of that I tore it and had to go get a replacement pair.

I just don't know if contacts are going to be for me or not, but I am going to keep trying. I may opt for Lasik surgery if it ends up that I can't wear contacts after all.

Time marches on

It's hard to believe that it is February already! I guess it is because I've been so busy, both at work and at home.

It's SuperBowl Weekend. We are having a few friends over tomorrow night to watch the game. I guess I will root for the Patriots. I've got to start putting some thought into what food we will have. I need to stop and get some chicken wings before the stores are sold out.
