Mommy's off studying for a final exam so I do the hard work now days, tackling such feats as feeding myself, cleaning up, and of course getting dressed for the day. Now if only Mom would buy the right size of pants. I'm short Mom! Figure it out...otherwise I'm forced to wear my pants like a geek! A cute geek of course, but still a geek!

FRUGAL FRIDAY

Lately, with no income  I've been trying to find ways here and there to bring in some extra cash for gifts and things we need. I've really gotten into finding freebies and other great deals, along with earning some money from websites and companies. So I decided that each Friday I'll post my favorite find(s) for the week.

This is probably one of my favorite ways of getting freebies...

SWAGBUCKS

A couple of weeks ago I joined a site called swagbucks. Each day when I do my homework, instead of using google I use the Swag search engine, and from this I get Swagbucks. These swagbucks can then be exchanged for gift cards or prizes. It's really simple, I don't do anything extra then I would by using google, and I get stuff for it. Today I turned in my swagbucks for a $5 GC to Amazon. I did the math and I figured that I'll get about $120 a year in Amazon GC just for using a different search engine! The key of course is not to spend all day trying to search. Then it's totally not worth it and a waste of time! I've found this out the hard way. The first day I signed up I spent all day searching random stuff but only winning about 3 bucks all together, which is about what I get each day anyway, whether I search a couple of times or a ton. So now I just get on when I actually need to search something or research for school assignments. On average I earn 2-5 swagbucks a day.  Another tip, if you don't have anything to search just get on in the morning and usually after a couple of searches you'll win a swagbuck, then stop searching. Also check out there blog and facebook once in awhile to see if they are giving out any free codes for swagbucks. Get other people to register (in other words- referrals) and you get even more swagbucks.

My blog is mostly just about our little munchkin. She keeps us busy, loves the outdoors, and anything Sesame Street (lately she is confused with the fact that she thinks she is Cookie Monster). As for me, I'm a stay at home mom and student (online classes). I love to scrapbook, crochet, go running, and to bake. My husband is in his first year of law school. We're poor, having to live far away from family, and without our mountains, but we are loving life and all that it hands us!

I've been meaning to get around to this for a while now! I hate messes so the fact that I was starting to avoid the utility room all together led to the conclusion that the food storage shelfs needed some attiontion.

 

SHAMELESS

We are usually fans of the Parent Choice diapers, they work great and are by far the cheapest. But then last month I received a coupon for $5.00 off every jumbo box of pampers at Babys R Us, then they came out with a deal of by 3 jumbo boxes, receive a $15.00 gift card, and on top of that if you join their rewards club you get you 10th box of pampers free! The math: by 9 boxes, $5 off each box, $45.00 in gift cards which in turn pays for more diapers, and one more free box= just a little under a penny more for each diaper than Parents Choice. Plus there is 

THIS reason for purchasing Pampers. 

So in case you were thinking the shameless title was because of my little plug for Pampers... well, it's not. Actually, I just learned the other day that each box of pampers and wipes comes with a 15 digit code, either on the inside of the bag or if it's a jumbo box, then on the outside of each bag of wrapped diapers. If you go to pampers.com you can sign up and enter these codes in for points. 

So the other night I spent the evening opening up boxes to get points. You would think that stocking over 2,000 diapers would get me the points I want to get the oh so needed reward. But no, I still need 32 points! Seeing how we are stocked for quite awhile though, I won't be buying anymore. Do you get where the shameless part is coming in yet?! If not, then let me say it like this...if you are into keeping Pampers in business, and you don't want to deal with redeeming the codes, could I have them?! I really want to get a reward that they have from Shutterfly, it's something I've actually been wanting to buy but it's been put on hold. Is that enough of a pity trip, yet? I could go on....Since you know it's titled SHAMELESS and all.

The Number of the Day is 2

Lately I have been trying to teach Hannah about the #2, you know...poo. But I wasn't sure if she had been making the connection of what it meant, even though she would repeat the word. So last night while in the office doing homework I hear Hannah running through the house to get to me, yelling 'Poo, Poo, Poo, Poo...' Sure enough with one sniff, my nose told me that she had done the stinky. Oh what excitement, my little one had made the connection!

So before you wonder why I would be excited about this...let me lay it out for you. In theory Hannah first learns to tell me that she has gone poo, this hopefully will lead to her learning to tell me she needs to go poo, which will then lead us one step closer to potty training. Aha, you now know my silly reasoning. And if that doesn't work out, I'm sure it will at least lead to some embarrassing moments of her new vocabulary usage in Sacrament or the Check-out line.
