Happy Halloween!

Nick made for a cute Tigger!  Hard to imagine he only had one nap today and was beyond tired about 2 hours ago.  He's a good sport and with a little snack from the candy bowl, he was ready to go.  That's my boy!

Josh got into the spirit of Frankenstein tonight and helped hand out some candy before we went out.  He made a good grump when we were out and everyone loved him...as usual!  When we got home, we handed out the rest of the candy.  We sat on the front steps of the house and Josh would yell..."Hey people, I have trick or treat.  Come and get it!".  He's a great helper.

Nick was so adorable trying to copy Josh, who was dancing.  Chester got lucky to catch this, so I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do.

Josh is great!  He shares well with Nick, most of the time anyway.  He decided he was going to share his ice cream with Nick.  So sweet of him, especially since he only just started to like ice cream.

Josh

We were shopping at Old Navy one morning and they were having a child safety awareness day and they had a fire truck and police car there.  Josh got to climb in and explore the fire truck, but he also got to climb in the police car.  The officer was also nice enough to turn on the lights and siren for Josh.  He loved it and it was hard to tear him away.  

Josh's favorite thing is to pick up Nick and carry him around.  He'll try to bounce him and gives him kisses.  He loves to look after his little brother.  I asked Josh to help me one morning and watch Nick, so he did.  He kept Nick out of trouble and out from under my feet.  He's already turning into a great babysitter! :)

Josh and the Fire Truck!

So we were out and about on Friday and heading home when we passed Fire House Subs and noticed about 3 fire trucks, a fire vehicle and an ambulance all in the parking lot, so we decided to stop. We got out to let Josh see the fire trucks and it turns out the fire department was receiving a new search and rescue boat. Well since we were there, Josh got to get a close up of one of the fire trucks and a kind fireman gave Josh his own fireman's hat and let him climb up into the fire truck. It made his day! He was so giddy to be in it. Maybe he'll grow up to be a fireman! We love our little hero!!!

Playing

Josh and Nick play very well together...most of the time anyway. Josh had decided to put Nick on the bike and push him around the house. So, after he hoisted Nick up and got him situated, off they went around the "circle" in my house. From the toy room into the foyer, dining room, kitchen, family room, foyer and around again. They both had so much fun. Notice the scab on Nick's nose? That was from a time they weren't playing so well. Love my boys! They really are great together. Josh really loves his brother, but I think he's getting a little jealous right now. I think they've been best friends for a long, long time. Just to watch them together is amusing.

The boys in all their cuteness! Josh is a wonderful big brother. He cares about his little brother so much and makes sure he has everything he needs. What a helper!

Nick must have been having a wonderful dream. He kept smiling, so I snapped a picture. It turned out cause he smiled just as I took the picture. He is so devilishly handsome! I'm the luckiest mommy in the world. I love my boys!

Our New Car!

This is our new car! We bought it yesterday and we love it! We got a Mazda6 and it even has leather. We had to get something bigger so the car seats would fit. They are getting scarce so we had to get it before it was gone.

Boys

Every time I want to take a picture of Josh, he runs and posses with Nick. It's nice, but sometimes I just want one of him. It's OK, they are both adorable and worth taking pictures of. Poor Nick looks kind of scared in this picture. I think he was!

I have toes!

Nicholas has finally found his feet! With a little bit of encouragement, he has found the fun in toes!

Josh

I am always catching the boys holding hands. The other day, I drove up to Fairfax and Nick was fussing and then all of a sudden he was quiet. I took a quick glance back and Josh was holding his hand and they were talking to each other. Josh is such a wonderful brother...for now!

The other day, I came upstairs and I couldn't find Josh, so I searched the usual places and found him "sleeping" in the baby's crib. I guess we just wants to be mommy's little baby forever!

The boys

Josh still loves Nick and still loves to hold him. Every time I try to get a picture of Josh, he finds Nick and posses with him. I hope he still likes Nick when he's mobile and getting into his toys. I think they'll be best friends forever...I hope anyway.

A few blissful moments of peace...until Josh woke Nick up from his short, short nap.

I love this picture! Josh is such a goof. We received the hat as a gift for Nick, so when we came home from church on Sunday, Josh put on the hat and climbed in the swing. He wouldn't stop for a picture until he was all belted in with the tray closed. Some day the poor swing is going to break cause Josh likes to climb in it. I love Josh's face!

Nick Rolls!

So, Nick decided it'd be fun to roll over today. I was so shocked, so I wanted to see if it was just an accident, so I put him back on his tummy and tried to grab my phone to get a video and he rolled again before I could even get the video ready to shoot. He rolled twice, so I crossed my fingers that he'd do it again as I put him back on his tummy and sure enough...he did! I think he got pretty tired after rolling 3 times, so he didn't show off for daddy when he came home.

Joshua's 3rd Birthday!

So, Josh couldn't decide what kind of cake he wanted for his birthday. He was torn between Mickey Mouse and Car (Lightning McQueen), so I decided to combine them. I don't think it turned out too bad considering I had to practically decorate it with my fingers cause the frosting wouldn't stick to the cake with the spatula. Not too shabby. Now I'll get twice the practice every year, so maybe in a few years, I might actually be decent at decorating.
Josh got some fun stuff for his birthday which included: a trike (which he actually got 2 weeks earlier cause the weather was nice), a lego bus from Nonna and Nonno, the cars on the cake (the above are by far his favorite), a soccer ball, Mobigo game pad (he'd rather play with his cars or outside) and some shirts. Josh isn't too fond of electronic games and such, which is fine by me. I prefer learning the old fashioned way...on paper and in books!
I'll try to get more pictures up of his birthday soon. I have to get them off the camera.

Hey!

Josh is constantly wanting to hold his brother and is so gentle with him. I love it...I just hope Josh loves him as much when he's getting into all his toys!

Josh has these interesting martial arts moves that he is constantly doing. He was showing off some of his moves, but he did it with the head phones around his waist like a belt. Maybe he'll be a black belt someday!

I got Nick set up to play and as soon as I did, Josh wanted to play with him too. As you can see he crawled under the play set with Nick and they both were more interested in the TV!

All Smiles

Yesterday, Nicholas started smiling and it's not gas related! I was able to catch a few on the phone tonight. He's growing up so fast.

Josh loves his little brother very much. He always wants to hold him and every time I try to pick him up, he says "MINE!". I bet he won't be saying that at 2am!

Nicholas

So, I'm finally getting some pictures up from the day Nicholas was born. He was born Nov. 5th at 11:51am weighing at 5lbs. 12oz. and 18 inches long. A feeding tube was placed about day 4 and was finally able to get all the milk I'd been pumping. Once he learned to eat from a bottle, he was able to come home. He was in the NICU a grand total of 11 days. He is doing well at home and nursing like a champ! He's still jaundice, but it's getting better. He's down from 11.1 to 7.0. We'll see what the doctor wants to do on Tuesday, if anything. We are so blessed that Nicholas is home and healthy. We love him very much and thankful he is a part of our family.
