Nicholas Paul Grover was born Nov. 5th at 11:51am by emergency c-section. He was 6 weeks early and weighed in at 5lbs. 12oz. He is in the NICU on oxygen and doing a little better each day. If we are lucky, he'll be able to come home next Friday. Pictures will have to wait until I get home from the hospital next week sometime. Josh is very excited to meet his little brother!

Halloween

Josh was a cute little puppy dog for Halloween. He's been acting so much like a dog lately, you would think we have 2! He had fun at the trunk-o-treat and got away with a lot of loot.

A glimpse into our life the past few months

Josh played so well with his cousin in California. Chester was watching both of them and caught them playing on the piano together. Josh is such a sweet boy. I have not doubt he'll make an awesome big brother!

So, Chester made another yummy batch of cookies. This day, Josh was refusing to take a nap, so the best thing to do is fill him up with food...it really makes him sleepy. I just didn't think that it would work so soon. After a few bites of cookie, I walk in the room and find..this! I tried to take the cookie away, but even in his sleep, he wouldn't let go. Eventually I pried it out of is little fingers so he could finish it later. Poor sleepy boy!

Here I am at 21 weeks pregnant. I am 26 weeks now, so I'm bigger, so when I get a more recent picture, I'll post it.

We bought some small fireworks to do at home on the 4th of July. Thankfully, our neighbors had awesome fireworks, but they trumped our little ones. Josh loved the fireworks in the neighborhood, so we went for a little walk after we were done and saw the much better ones. Josh did love playing with the sparklers.

I'm not quiet sure, but I think Josh put the helmet on himself and then grabbed the skateboard. Aaron was nice enough to help him out and get his first ride on a skateboard. If only the darn helmet didn't cover his face too! I guess it's safer that way.

Josh loves cookies and Chester made a fresh batch of cookies just for him. Once all the cookies were made, they sat down at the table together and took turns dipping their cookies in the milk.

Alright, it has been a long anticipated day for us and this morning was it! We finally got to find out what we are having and the verdict is....a BOY! We are going to have another boy to add to our family in December. He is already growing fast. I'll post some pictures as soon as I get them scanned and one of me, if I remember. So far, everything is going well. Josh loves to give the baby kisses, but he doesn't really get it yet. Josh was excited to see the baby today on the ultrasound machine. The only thing he said was "baby, baby, baby". Next, we get to pick out names we like and we'll let you know what it is when the baby comes.

Have you seen me before?

So, Grover family...does this picture look familiar? Does he remind you of anyone? Well, let me tell you this story. Last night Josh went to bed and it seems he wasn't quiet ready to go to bed. Once I left the room, he got out of bed and checked the door knob to see if he was able to get out of the room. Once he realized that he was trapped, I thought he went back to his bed and stayed there the rest of the night. So this morning, when I went to get him when he woke up, his hair looked wet and I assumed that it was because he had popped open his sippy cup and was wet. To my surprise when I felt his head it was gooey. The question became, what is this? How long has it been like this. Did he do this last night, or this morning. Well, I thought about it and it had to have been last night since he wouldn't of had enough time from the time I heard him get up to the time I got him to have made such a mess. Then, it became...what is this stuff? So, I looked at the few things that were on his dresser and found out it wasn't the baby oil, but I had already guessed that since it didn't smell. I didn't know what else it could be...then I saw it! The vaseline bottle. The top was on the container, but it was all gooey. I opened it and a big huge gob or vaseline was missing; at least I knew where it was. Anyway, since he decided to go to bed like that, his pillow case was covered in vaseline and so was the bed rail. I knew it wouldn't help, but I tried to wash it out anyway...no luck as you can see. I'm still trying to decide the best way to get it out. So far I have come up with alcohol or finger nail polish remover. Anyone have any better ideas? Anyway, I thought it would be fun to spike it and look like his daddy did at 16! Like father like son!

Just too tired

Josh refused to take a nap one day and ended up falling asleep on Chester's lap. Since it was so close to bedtime, I didn't want him to sleep too long, so we tried a few different things to wake him up. First: we laid him on the couch. A lot of times if you do that, he wakes up cause he doesn't like it...not this time.

Second: we took his blanket off in hopes he would get a little cold and wake up. He doesn't like losing his blanket either...still no luck.

Third: We tried to tickle him and bug him so he would wake up...he finally did, but then he just rolled over and went back to sleep. Chester and I were defeated. Luckily for us, he did wake up soon after :)

Big shoes!

Josh wanted to go outside so bad, that he put on the first pair of shoes he found and then headed for the door. He has some big shoes to fill ;)

What a munchkin!

Josh is just cute. He loves his big stuffed dog. I think he's going to be really excited when he gets his real one back.

Josh just wanted to help!

Josh wanted to help daddy and uncle Mike mulch Grandma and Pops yard. He was a very good helper pushing the wheel barrels around and try to load them with mulch. He got mad if you didn't let him do things himself. Such a great helper!

I always swore I would never buy a suit for Josh cause he wouldn't wear it very long before he grew out of it. As you know, that is not a problem since he doesn't grow very fast. I broke down and bought him one and this is what he looks like...how adorable!

Josh had a lot of fun at his party. He is a real champ at blowing out candles. He could hardly wait to blow it out. If you notice, Chester has to hold him back so we can get through "Happy Birthday".

Josh was really excited to open his presents. Once he opened one, it was hard to get him to open the next cause he just wanted to play. Here are a few pictures.

Super Bowl Knockout!

I let Josh stay up late on Super Bowl Sunday since he had a late nap and he refused to go up to bed. Well, this is what happened about half way through the 3rd quarter. He was playing on the floor and it was suddenly very quiet. Josh had knocked out on the floor playing. It took no time at all for him to pass out. How precious kids are when they're sleeping. ;)

Meanwhile...Josh was a great helper. I wish I could say he did the dishes, but he didn't. He does put his dishes in the sink now when he's done without being asked. What a wonderful boy!

...and then it stoppped...eventually!

And so it began...

Josh loved sledding in the snow! It was his first time and he was just squealing and laughing! Dad would take him to the top of the little hill and Josh would count: "1...2...3...GO!"(and would hold his arm up as if to say 'CHARGE') and Chester would let go and down the hill he went. He had a great time! I don't know how many times Chester did that, but it was so fun to watch! Maybe if we get the snow that we are supposed to this weekend, we can go sledding again. :)

This is short, but sweet. Josh loves to say 'mile' when he sees the camera, but changed his mind pretty fast.

This is Josh's new favorite toy. He's a big fan of Cars and Toy Story. He could hardly wait to get home and open it. He waited very patiently while we got it out of the box. He loves Buzz and has been playing with him for 3 days straight! "To infinity and beyond!"

What a silly boy!

This was Josh's favorite toy and they only one he played with all day. It's a 'Mac' truck from Cars and a few Lightning McQueens.
