I was finishing up my freshman year of college. I think I'd rather not think about that. I think I was one of the few people who actually did not like college at all. Might have to do with spending all 4 years dating the world's biggest douchebag. Ah, how much smarter I have become!

Five things on my to-do list today:
Rehash Sex and the City movie in my head. AMAZING!
See apartments with my little brother.
Lunch and shopping with the dear hubby.
Plot to see Sex and the City again tomorrow.
Babysit for friends! Practice parenting is good for us!


Anything made of sugar. Particularly Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches, rice krispie treats, chocolate. Also Robert's Gourmet Smart Puffs. YUM.

A billionaire? That's some serious cash. I'd donate big chunks to animal cruelty prevention charities, to helping the victims in Burma and Darfur as well as homeless charities in the states. Then I'd go shopping- for my homes in Back Bay, Nantucket and Malibu- no, scratch that- Santa Barbara. All of the Madeline Weinrib rugs a girl could have! Fabulous custom furniture and finishes too, of course..... then I'd get myself and Andrew a pair of Aston Martin DBS's. And a orange Mini Cooper convertible with navy top and racing stripes for our beach home. (I've always wanted one). 50 yard line seats to the Pats, box seats to the Sox and court side Celtics tickets. And season courtside UNC basketball tickets for my hubby. And a private jet to get him there.
Amazing clothes, bags and Laboutins. And in those amazing outfits, we'd travel everywhere in the world, all the time (on said private jet, upholstered in yummy KWID fabrics).

It's here! It's finally here! It's like Christmas morning! I glanced to my pile of papers on my desk a few minutes ago and saw my Fandango print out of my 5:30 p.m. tickets and remembered, it's today! My friend Jen and I plan on getting there an hour early to line up (all evening shows have been sold out for about week in Back Bay), and I plan on dressing up for this all important occasion! If you read my Huffington Post piece on the influence this series has on millions of women, including me, you know how absolutely thrilled I am to see them on the big screen! I can't wait to see the fashion in the movie, it's always so delicious! So here is a look back at some of the great fashion moments with our fave four!

Carrie was always the fashion plate- a risk taker who sometimes managed to wear things that made me say "really?"--like the belt over the bare belly below, but also some really creative pairings of patterns and textures that I would never be brave enough to wear!

1)From my favorite episode "I'm drunk. I'm drunk at Vooogguuueee". Shorter hair debut.
2) Aidan. Oh Aidan. (uncontrollable sobbing).
3) Yikes. No.

1) The big flower season.
2) It was omnipresent. Yes, I bought one.
3) Patterns I would never put together- but it works on her!

1) The dress made of 1,000 layers of fabric. She slept in it, naturally.
2) Casual Carrie with the Evil Russian.
3) Channeling Jackie O.

1) Bringing plaid back with Mr. Winkle (how I LOVE Mr. Winkle!)
2) The Oscar de la Renta dress seen (and copied) around the world.


Charlotte was one of my favorites- her WASPy style holds a special place in my heart.
1) Classic Charlotte and her big skirts.
2) Country Club Redux. Whenever I see a Cavalier King Charles I call it an "Elizabeth Taylor".
3) The LBD- A Charlotte staple.

Her best look ever- a sad day for Charlotte made brighter by this KILLER Jackie O ensemble.


Miranda began Sex and the City with a very unfortunate (and quite masculine) wardrobe and hair color and cut. By the last season, she was looking pretty fierce!
1) Eegads!
2) Miranda's everyday corporate attorney wardrobe.
3) Miranda in her "skinny jeans" post Brady.

Ahhh, so much better! She win's the "most improved" award!

And finally Samantha. I never liked her clothes-ever. They always seemed so 80's- neon, shoulder pads, big jewelry (not in a good way). But they matched her bold, brash attitude and spoke of her view on life. Can't wait to see if there is any improvement in the movie.

I saw these headboards in Domino this month and absolutely flipped when I found out they were from Target! Are you sick of my Target love yet?
They come in two fabrics- faux silk shantung and micro-suede.
Side note-- I am loving the unexpected color combinations in the above photo. I would not have thought that aqua, red and black would look so stunning and crisp together!

My dad made me aware of this site when we were doing research on architectural company websites. A modern day take on the Sears type "mail order stock plan" homes, Ronald F. DiMauro Atchitects creates these adorable small home plans (potting sheds, design offices, yoga retreats, beach homes) that you can buy online and have built on your property. I love his loose drawings of them too- very storybook and makes me wish I had some land to put a little office retreat out back! Andrew loves the men's retreat-just look at the floor plan!

This find is so good I almost pondered keeping it to myself. But alas, I could not possibly keep any good find from my dear readers. As you may have seen on various blogs, in magazines and on the beds of many decorators- the embroidered Otomi bedspread is HOT right now. I absolutely love them instead of the omni-present (but still gorgeous) Suzani. The only source I had found until now was Jacaranda, which sells the larger bedspread size for $395.
God bless eBay.

I cannot get over this four poster crib in the advertisements for the new Restoration Hardware Baby & Child line. It is the most stunning crib I've seen to date- not to mention everything else they are previewing now on the site! Can't wait to see the whole line!

You all know my obsession with Bongenre's melamine plates. Well now I have a new melamine plate designer to obsess over- Fontaine Maury! The preppy, retro inspired designs (complete with personalization) remind me a bit of iomoi, and would make a killer wedding gift or even a baby gift (get one plate with the baby's name on it with a set of cool feeding utensils!)
Perfect for outdoor dinging this summer!

These prints by Paper Stories totally had me in awe of the creativity that can be found on Etsy! I have about a bizillion of these chips laying around and never would have thought to do this. A great gift for the modern designer!

After a perfect day (80 degrees and breezy) of working in our garden and sitting by the pond, we grilled out dinner last night and welcomed summer! My mom's amazing steak marinade, a salad with fresh berries and corn on the cob- yum! I just love spending time outside in the summer. If a had a porch big enough, I would definitely put up one of these amazing porch swings, handmade by the women at Penobscot Bay Porch Swings in Maine. Made of sailcloth, they defy the traditional wooden porch swing with style and humor. They even make a cradle version for the little ones to enjoy.

Wedding season is about to get into full swing, and while many people end up spending exorbitant amounts of money getting hitched (ahem!), I wanted to see what kind of wedding I could plan on a VERY strict budget. So I attempted to plan a wedding using only items from Target--and here are the fruits of my labors! A rather chic black, white and chartreuse green wedding for the bride on a budget!
