Changes

Last August we sold my very first car.  I didn't think I would really care about selling it, but once I saw the guy drive away with it, I was actually a little bummed.  I had the car for almost 8 years, bought it brand new, and all by myself (with the help of a family friend who worked at the dealership of course).  But I knew we would eventually need a new car and we didn't all fit in my car, so we sold it and have been just driving the truck these past 9 months.

The day that Dustin and I have both been dreading came on Saturday.  Neither of us really had to shop for our first vehicles, mine was from a family friend and Dustin's was from the Bank One Auction, so we both got lucky and got a great deal so no need to haggle on the price.  The experience wasn't as bad as we both thought, but it was 7 hours before we drove off the lot.  We are excited about our new car and love it!  What I'm really going to enjoy even more is driving to Utah this summer without my knees 2 inches from the dash.  Morgan's favorite part, rolling her window down.  Ethan's favorite part, looking out the window.

 Now the reason for our purchase, baby #3 is due the end of October.  We would have waited a few more months to purchase the van, but like I said before, driving with my knees 2 inches from the dash is no fun, but add a belly to that and I'm sure I would have been miserable.  Which Dustin informed me means, that him and the kids would be too.  This ultrasound is at 6 weeks, which is why you can't see a baby yet.  Next week I go in for another ultrasound so I can post better pictures.

Ethan still doesn't understand what's going on, but neither did Morgan when I was pregnant with Ethan.  But Morgan is really excited and mentions the baby quite a bit.  The day after we told her I found her reading the Baby Bump magazine that my doctor's office gave me while eating breakfast.  She pointed to every pregnant women and said, "They have a baby in their tummy."  Then she started saying Dustin and Ethan had a baby in their tummies, so I explained that only girls can have babies in their tummies.  Of course, then she said she had a baby in her tummy.  Than I had to explain she had to wait to until she got married in the temple to have a baby in her tummy.  Of course, she wanted to go to the temple right away.  Then I had to explain she had to wait 20 years before getting married in the temple.  She still talks about when she will go to the temple to get married and get a baby in her tummy when she's big like mommy.

Ethan's First Hair Cut

Morgan and Ethan ended up with almost the same hair style; short on the top, long everywhere else.  Morgan was lucky being a girl, because we just let it grow out.  With Ethan I've trimmed around the ears and the back three times.  Four weeks ago from tomorrow, I trimmed the back of his hair again.  That night before his bath I decided that it was time for a buzz.  He was pretty excited, can't you tell?

 He sat so still during the whole thing.  But next time I will have to figure out something else for him to sit on because he is not as tall as Dustin, so a folding chair even with his high chair on it is a little too short.

Such a handsome little man.  He is growing up so fast, which I know his big sister is helping him.  Since this post is all about Ethan, I just want to say how proud I am of my little guy.  This whole week he has been repeating his scripture during family scripture study and repeating his prayers (and sometimes even when it's Morgan's turn to pray he repeats those too).  He is just way too cute!!

Phoenix Suns

My boss has season tickets to the Suns and was kind enough to offer them to me last month.  Dustin seemed a little nervous when I told him I had the tickets and planned on all of us going.  I figured that they wouldn't last through the hole thing because the game didn't even start until 7:30, but my hope was to make it through three periods.

I started to get a little worried since the actual game didn't start until 8:15 and as you can tell, they didn't seem all that impressed with the dancers before the game.  Before they announce the players they turn off the lights and fire comes out of the back of the basketball hoops.  Morgan was not a fan.  She climbed right onto my lap and hid her eyes until the fire went away.  If we get a chance to go to a game next year, hopefully she won't be scared.

I tried to get them all to look at me before the game started, but Morgan and Ethan were way too distracted trying to figure out what kind of basketball game this was.

Morgan and Ethan lasted through the whole game, which didn't even end until 10:30.  It probably did help that we walked around the whole time during half time and bought a large popcorn and drink to share for the last half.  It was a great game (never more than a 3 point difference), and even better yet, the Suns won!!

Easter Egg Hunt

The Willis' had their annual Easter Egg hunt the Saturday before Easter.  Morgan and Ethan had spent that Friday night out at Grandma and Grandpa's so we headed out early to have some fun with them before everyone else arrived.

I've never decorated eggs with the kids before so I really wanted to this year.  Both kids had a blast!

Finally everyone showed up to go hunting for eggs.  They were so excited, not even Steph could keep the kids in an orderly line out to the back yard.

Annie was nice enough to help Morgan search for eggs.  Both kids ended up with a ton of eggs, which I'm happy to say, they still have some.

What's an easter egg hunt without yummy food afterwards.

 Then we celebrated Grandpa's birthday.  The chocolate lettering was melting fast.

When Tyson sees candles, he has to blow them out.  He honestly snuck right in front of Grandpa and blew out all the candles.  It was hilarious and he was so proud of himself.

 Of course we had to light them again so Grandpa could actually blow them out.  Morgan was kind enough to help this time.

Easter Pageant

The two weeks prior to Easter, the Mesa Temple puts on the Easter Pageant which is all about the life of Christ and his resurrection.  Dustin and I haven't been for 7 years (and 7 years ago we didn't even go together, but that's another story).  The pageant didn't start until 8:00, so we decided if we got there at 6:00 and just ate dinner there we would have plenty of options for picking a spot.  Dustin's sister Steph and her husband Stephen were meeting us there, and called us as we were getting close to the temple to let us know it was already packed.  We did find a nice spot on the grass where the kids could still see, but it wasn't easy.

Morgan and Ethan really enjoyed it.  Morgan was so intrigued with it, and was asking me so many questions.  Even two weeks after the pageant she brought up how we saw Jesus baptized at the temple.  She is definitely soaking up everything.

MacDonald Ranch

Ever since the Veteran's Day Parade Morgan has been begging to ride a horse.  Back in March, Dustin had a couple days off so we figured we would take her and see if Ethan dared ride one.  Dustin found MacDonald's Ranch up in north Scottsdale.  When I say north Scottsdale, I mean about 10 mins north of the 101.  It was a drive, but not only did they have pony rides, they also had a petting zoo.  And even better, the pony ride and petting zoo were free!  They do ask that you tip the person giving the pony ride, but it was definitely worth it.  It was a Friday afternoon when we got there and there was another family leaving as we walked in, so we had the place all to ourselves.

Ethan wasn't sure about petting the "pony".  I don't think they are actually called ponys, but I have no clue what their specific name is, so we called it a pony.

 Morgan loved the bunnies.  It was just hard to get them to sit still to pet them unless you cornered them.  Ethan didn't care to pet the bunnies either.

 But then we came to the wart hogs.  Maybe it was that they were just lying there in the shade that Ethan liked because he had no problem petting them.  Well, that was until he pushed down really hard on one and it moved.

 Couldn't resist riding the pig.  The only problem is, it doesn't fit two people very well.

 Finally time for the horse ride.  Morgan really didn't want to pet the horse, so I was a little worried she wouldn't want to ride the horse.  Ethan was happy staying back from the horse

 Morgan LOVED her horse ride.  She was able to go around the place three times and was begging to ride the horse again.  We tried to get Ethan on, but he screamed as I was lifting him up.  We'll try again another time.

We all had such a great time and will definitely go back.
