Christmas

We were supposed to go up to Utah to spend Christmas with my family this year, but with Dustin's work being down four guys, he wasn't able to get the time off. So, Christmas Eve we were going to go to my aunt's for dinner, but then she got sick so we went over to Dustin's parent's. But before we left Morgan and I had to make the sugar cookie dough. Morgan is such a great help in the kitchen.

Luckily Santa loves frosting and sprinkles. And what was Ethan doing all Christmas Eve.... hanging out with Julie of course.

This was the first year spending Christmas Eve night at our house, and it was really nice. Christmas morning we heard Morgan out by the tree, so Dustin quickly ran out there to stop her from getting into the stockings. But she was actually getting her Mickey movie. Yep, that's our Morgan. She doesn't care about the stockings or presents under the tree, she wants to watch Mickey. Dustin, Morgan, and Ethan all watched Mickey while I cooked the cinnamon rolls.

Morgan was not too interested in opening presents at first, but then she got the hang of it. Dustin had her sit back from the tree because after opening one present she would quickly grab another one

Last year Dustin decided that every year for Christmas he wants to make something. Last year we made two ottomans/toy chests. This year I decided to make both kids blankets which was very nerve racking for me since I haven't sewn since my Sophomore year in high school and the stuff I made was really scary looking. Of course I had a lot of help from Dustin's mom since she has the sewing machine. My friend made her daughter a rag quilt and I really liked it so I decided to make one, but with flannel that way I didn't have to worry about the batting.

Morgan decided to hop on while I was taking a picture of it.

So then I decided to put Ethan on his. But he really didn't like that decision.

I thought the blankets were good enough, but then Dustin (with the help of my aunt and my parents encouragement) decided to make a wooden board game my aunt has called Aggravation. We have so much fun playing this game, so Dustin decided we would make it for my brother and his sister who we had for Christmas this year.

After opening presents and getting dressed we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Where Morgan got a really nice Tricycle from Aunt Darbi and Uncle Nate. So now we can go riding with Morgan's friend Kate.

We hope that everyone had as wonderful of a Christmas as we did. Spending it with family and remembering our Savior's birth. We hope that everyone has a wonderful and safe New Year!

4 Months

Our little boy is 4 months old today, and such a happy boy!

Ethan does not like tummy time at all, so a couple days ago he realized that he can roll over to his back. As soon as I put him on his tummy he rolls right over. He does not like his pacifier, but loves his thumb. He loves to sit up and look around. He tries to sit up on his own, but still needs to work on those ab muscles. He enjoys playing with his big sister until she decides to sit on him. I just love my little man!

Gingerbread Cookies

Morgan and I decided to make gingerbread cookies over the weekend. She is such a great helper.

Such a great way to get flour on the rolling pin.

Morgan's favorite part was rolling out the dough. She would get really upset when I tried to put the cookie cutters on.

Morgan made such yummy cookies, but didn't want to try them. Oh well, it left lots of yummy cookies for us.

Christmas Tree

Thanksgiving weekend we put up our Christmas decorations. This was the first year Morgan helped us decorate our Christmas tree. She was a great help. When putting on the lights, Dustin and I stood on opposite sides of the tree and Morgan went around the tree with the lights and we just put them in place.

Morgan was such a great help with the ornaments. She wanted to stand on the stool to put them on, so we had to move the stool around the tree so that the ornaments weren't all in one place.

Morgan just can't get enough of her little brother. She is always playing with him and wanting to hold him. Here are some cute pictures over the last 4 months. Wow! I can't believe my little boy is 4 months already.

Family Pictures 2010

The Saturday before Thanksgiving our wonderful friends, Shane & Josie, took our family pictures. We first stopped at this really nice grassy area with a pond over by a business complex by our place. Morgan was more interested at looking at the ducks in the pond then taking pictures. I brought marshmallows thinking it would do the trick with getting Morgan to sit still and smile. Popcorn worked for my niece Tehya. The marshmallows didn't work as well as I thought they would.

But then Josie saw a tree to sit in which Morgan loved.

I love Morgan's smile as she is looking at Josie eyeing those marshmallows. And of course Ethan is starting to spit up. He can't be clean for too long. :)

Morgan wanted to hold Ethan, but Ethan really didn't like the idea.

Then we went to the Mesa Arts Center. And there was LOTS of water which Morgan just wanted to play in.

I loved this wall, but Morgan just would not sit still for a picture.

We finally decided to just let Morgan play in the water.

And Poor Ethan was just so tuckered out.

Ethan's Blessing

This past Sunday we blessed Ethan. We were so lucky to have my parents come down for it.
