Bathtub

Erin was downstairs, while I was in the Living room. Luke was taking a bath, and Tate likes to watch him from the side of the tub. We heard a scream, and Luke yelling that Tate fell in the tub. We both bolted to the bathroom only to find, Tate enjoying himself in his clothes Erin had just dressed him in. Scary at first, but freakin hilarious.

Late December Snow

We got dumped on today. Started Tuesday with a light snow fall all day long. But today, it snowed another 4 to 5 inches. So Luke and I made a go of it.

2009 Police Motors Competition

The 2009 Police Motorcycle competition was held at Timp Harley Davidson in Lindon City this year. It has always been at Miller Sports Park, which I believe is in Toole. So being so close, only a few minutes away, I took the two kiddos to see some of the activities. And Ofcourse, we had several or our very own Troopers in the competition and they showed Luke the New BMW bikes they are eventually switching to. I got to see for the first time the Beamers in action as well. It was alot of fun. The actual competition was on Saturday, which I was unable to attend. So I don't know any results. But here are a few pictures...

August Campin!!!

One last hurrah before Erin had to go back to work. We went camping up American Fork Canyon at Timpanoke. It was pretty. Wednesday night it was just the Heywood Co. and Jackson(Luke's cousin). On Thursday, Holly came up with Cooper and we went to a small lake further up the canyon from Tibble Fork called Silver Flat Lake. It turned out to be half full. They drain it at the end of the summer, but I was hoping to have beaten that, but oh well. The kiddos threw rocks into the lake and mud, and we had lunch. We headed back down to Tibble Fork, where they again threw rocks into the water, but was a little better area for them to play in the water. They took turns learning how to cast on Luke's new fishing pole. We never really actually fished on this trip. Maybe next time now that they are all pros. On Thursday night, Mark and Linda came up for dinner. If was alot of fun.

Happy 30th!!!

Erin surprised me with a party. Joe was in town, so we went to a movie. The movie of choice was "The Proposal." Joe sacrificed his manhood to sit next to me in the theater. Although we did sit so there was a seat empty between us. Erin had already made arrangements for everyone to come over about the time we would return. She also made me a cake. She is always making the kiddos pretty cool cakes. But this time, with the help of her sisters, she surprised me with one. It turned out awesome. It was alot of fun.

Church Shoes

Erin's sister bought Luke some new shoes yesterday. They're police shoes that light up when he walks. He LOVES them! This morning when he got up, he asked to wear his new light up shoes to church. Erin told him he couldn't, because he needed to wear his church shoes to church. Luke's in a "why" stage, so of course, he asked why. Erin's response was that he shouldn't wear his light up shoes to church, because Jesus wouldn't want him to do that. Luke left to go to his room for awhile and came back several minutes later with his police shoes in hand. He'd been thinking. He said, "Mommy, Jesus won't be at church today, so can I please wear my police shoes to church?"

Alien or Boy

We were sitting around the table eating lunch and Luke was talking in a goofy voice. So Erin asked him if he was an alien? Before he could answer, I asked him if he came in peace? Luke replied, saying "No...I'm not a part of a puzzle, I am a boy."

July 4th (Provo-Moroni-Orem)

Early Saturday morning, we headed to Provo to watch the Baloon launch for some of the Freedom Festival Activities. We didn't stick around for the parade. Next, we went to Erin's Parents house for breakfast. Then off to Moroni where we watched the small town parade. It was cool. then we had a barbecue eventually. Dad burned the hairs off his hand while trying to get their crap barbecue started. It was funny. You will have get the details later. After the barbecue, we headed back to Orem for dinner with Erin's Family. then the grand finale, of course, a firework show. All in all a fun but exhausting day. started at 0530 hours and ended at about 2330 hours.

Father & Son campout

Apparently church rules prohibit the use of trailers for ward campouts. Or atleast its my ward's rule. So we did the next best thing and utilized the roominess of our Honda Pilot. We were scorned by other ward members for not setting up a tent, but I think they were just jealous. Also, two years ago, there was a kid dragged off by a bear and killed at this campground. We camped at Blackhawk Campround up Payson canyon. It is just three miles north of Payson Lakes Campround. So I felt alot safer in the car. Luke enjoyed playing on the logs, but as you could see, would not smile for a good shot.

Whatever your heart desires!

I sat down sometime after returning from church to read a book with Luke. It had pictures or different rooms in a house. It was designed to find objects a certain color or a certain shape. One of the shapes was a heart. It reminded me of Grandpa Heywood and I would love to hear him say "Whatever you heart desires." Especially when asking about treats. Well, when I finished the book. We headed upstairs to make some chocolate chip cookies. And ofcourse, one of the things Grandpa taught us best, was that Cool Whip makes them that much better! I love you Grandpa!!!

SB Part 3 (Thur, Fri)

Well, I got busy and realized I never finished posting our trip. So here is the final posting. On Thursday morning we headed for Moab to stay at Joe and Brandi's. John and Sunni were already there and later we were joined with the folks. On our route we passed through Monument Valley which is to the east of Lake Powell. It was some gorgeous country. Thursday evening we spent time just hanging out. The kids jumped on the trampoline and had a blast. On Friday, we took the kids to Arches National Park and hiked. Again, the kids enjoyed themselves, as did I. Later that evening, John and I took the his four wheelers out for a ride. Sadly to say, I wrecked not once, but twice. Details will have to be acquired at a later time. But I survived without any broken bones, but did gash my knee open and severe bruising on my thigh and knee. Had to take a few days off work in the event I could not run any criminals down. It was a fun week.
