Holden is 3

My baby boy turned 3 today. No matter what I say about the messes or trouble he gets in, I do love him and I'm pretty sure life would be dull without him. Tonight, we had a small birthday party for him.

Makayla decorated the front room with the left over streamers from the boy scouts.

I asked Holden what he wanted for dinner and he said "ampakes" (pancakes), "orange." I asked him if he wanted chocolate chips in them and he said, "yes, orange." So he got orange chocolate chip pancakes for dinner. If it was up to hm, he would have pancakes breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.

Holden helped me make cupcakes earlier today. He couldn't wait to put candles in them and blow them out.
Makayla helped me pick out a puzzle for him. We already had a party while Grandpa Tom and Grandma Carol were here and he got most of his presents that day. We just got him something small to play with today.

**He actually found the puzzle in the bag this morning and opened it and put it together a couple of times before the party. Sometimes he's too smart for me.

Three things I love about Holden:
1. He makes my days fun.
2. He keeps me on my toes.
3. He always gives me hugs and kisses when I want them.
And one more for good measure, he has a smile that brightens my day!

When Holden is quiet

Clara had an appointment with the pediatrician last week. Holden had crawled under the chairs and was quiet for a while. I didn't think much about it since that wouldn't be unusual for him. When I downloaded the pictures off my card today, this is what I found.




I guess he found something to occupy himself with - my camera. Gotta love him!

Helping Grandpa

Before Grandpa Tom came, I told Holden that Grandpa would help him fix his dresser. The morning Holden woke up and Grandpa was here, he brought the front of his drawer that came off to Grandpa and asked him to fix it. Grandpa was more than happy to help him. Holden got right down there with Grandpa and was so excited that his drawer was getting fixed. Now every time Holden gets into his pj drawer, he tells us how Grandpa fixed it. What great memories!

Makayla's Baptism

This past weekend, we celebrated a special occasion in our family. Makayla was baptized! We had a lot of family and friends around us for the the day.


Cami helped us do Makayla's hair before the ceremony, and then fixing it after the baptism.

Makayla shared her special day with 2 other girls - Ashton and Riley.

Clara with my cousin D'Ette. The dress that Clara is wearing is one that I wore at my baptism that my mom made. I must have been smaller than my girls when I was 8.
