Field Trip

Yesterday, Holden and I went with Clara's class to the Big Red Barn down in Santaquin. We got to go on a tractor pulled hay ride through the orchards and to the pumpkin patch where they let all the kids pick out a small pumpkin. We then enjoyed some ice cream and doughnuts back at the barn. I came home with a box of crunchy apples and a bag of juicy peaches. I love being able to go with Clara on all her fun field trips!

Cheap days at Conrnbelly's

This Friday evening and Saturday is KBull 93 days at Thanksgiving Point corn maze. You can get in for $.93 each. Just go here and print off coupons for everyone in your group. I think we are going Saturday morning with our kids. We went last hear and had a great time playing on all the stuff and getting lost in the maze.

Relaxing Weekend!

Boy, I feel like a blog slacker! Things have just been going around here - nothing much happening. I just seem to be doing the same things day in and day out. This weekend, we did have a change up though. One of Clara's support groups - the Deaf-blind support group from USDB - had a parents retreat. They had a grant, so all we had to pay was $20 and they provided our hotel room at the Embassy Suites downtown, all the meals, and $80 to our babysitter, plus gas money! We got to listen to speakers, doctors, visit with other families that have been there and are going through the same things we are, and play games. Best of all, I got a great night sleep without the kids around!

Thank you to the USDB, for providing us with the time off, and thanks to my MIL for watching our kids for us while we were gone!

A Bag of Makayla

Makayla had to take a bag of 5-6 items to school today that let her class know more about who she is. I thought I'd share what she took - the things that describe who she is.

A granite rock - she loves to find and collect cool rocks

Princess Party DVD - she loves to play princesses!

A Bug - the one she took was dead, but it was in her bug cage before it died. She loves to catch bugs and then her and Austin go online to figure out what it is and what it eats so she can keep them happy.

Her bike - She can often be found riding her bike around the neighborhood. She loves to find tricks she can do on it. Her newest one is standing on the bar between the front and back of the bike and coasting down the hill. It's a little scary as a mom watching, but she doesn't fall often.

And last, but not least, her family. This picture is taken from our trip to Nauvoo this summer. She loves doing things together as a family!

Clara's first day of School

Boy, Clara had a long summer. She was soooo bored home with me all day! When I took her into her classroom for "back to school day," she was so excited to see her teacher and be in her familiar surroundings. On her first day of school, when the bus showed up at our house, Clara was so excited! She barely held still long enough to get her straps done up on her wheelchair. I'm sure glad that she loves school so much, and the bus ride too. It helps me feel less guilty that I love the break! (I also love when she gets home because she gives the best loves!!!)
