Happy New Year

Chris and the boys decided to ski Alta's torchlight parade tonight to welcome in the New Year. Equipped with flashlights and torches they skied down Alta with fireworks echoing off the mountains as they exploded over them. Pretty cool way to ring in the New Year.

Nicholas and I watched from the lodge, outside in the cold, and from the car, less cold. He wanted to ski too!

And here is Andrew's room all spruced up with the sports decor he got for Christmas. We moved his furniture and he chose where to hang all of his decor. Looks pretty good. It's also cleaned and dejunked. Much better.

Santa came!

Merry Christmas! Santa came and was more than generous to the boys. He brought Nicholas a train table (with a little help from ksl), Benjamin a compound bow & arrow, and Andrew a bunch or sports gear to help decorate his "sports" room.

We had a nice morning opening gifts and loafing around. Chris cooked an amazing turkey "Linner" and mom & dad stopped by for a nice gift exchange. We topped of the evening playing just dance 3 on the wii. Very fun. I've got moves...

Gingerbread house (attempt)

The boys made a gingerbread house tonight. It looked great for about 15 minutes until gravity demolished it.

Deck the tree... Some more

The tree has been up for a month but we keep on adding ornaments. The boys received personalized Christmas ornaments from Aunt Julie today and they make a nice addition. Thanks Jules!

Santa round 2

We enjoyed a family party tonight with my brothers and mom & dad. Santa came and it was very exciting. Each boy got a gift and were happy. It was nice to visit with my family, I wish we had more time together to hang out.

Our holiday leave from work started today. We are ready to enjoy a week off.

We purchased a potty for Nicholas as he has been telling us right after he messes and wants a diaper change. It seems way early to start but one can dream, right? Or wish, Dear Santa...

Ben wins spelling bee!

Benjamin won the fourth grade spelling bee today! He won with the word "emphasize". He is very excited and we are excited for him. Next step is the school spelling bee. He'll compete against 5th & 6th graders. Go Benjamin!

Busy December

Busy day so far... Woke at 5:30 with baby. I headed to costco for a work "party" then off to Benjamin's soccer game. After the game we headed to Target for some light Christmas shopping and then home to pack Christmas packages that will soon be headed East. Cleaned the house, made some cookies and now I am about to get ready for a Christmas dinner party. I love December!!!

Ho ho Hello Santa!

Nicholas met St. Nicholas tonight. Big accomplishment getting him to sit on Santa's lap tonight. He understands that Santa is part of Christmas and recognizes him in the decor. He likes to say "ho ho ho" but he was apprehensive and it took about 15 minutes to warm up. No tears but you can see his concern.

Beauty of St. George

St. George is so pretty year round but this trip as everything is so grey in SLC I found the warmer colors and rocks to be really beautiful.  Here are a few snap shots of the scenery.

Festival of Trees

Part of the Merry Mob at the festival of trees. The boys loved the Gingerbread White house and the Kevin UP tree. Nicholas had a hard time grasping the NO touch idea, he loved all the trees.

Thanksgiving in St. George

This year we spent Thanksgiving in St. Goerge with my mom and dad.  Outdoors we had a great time four wheeling, "rock" hunting and hiking.  St. George is beautiful and the weather was 60-70 degrees most days.  Indoors we enjoyed playing with cousins, movies, yummy dinner and reviewing the black Friday ads.  A little on the crazy side Mom, Ky and I braved the black Friday sales or rather the black late Thursday night sales.  It was truly an experience but we got some good deals.

Thanks for hosting us mom & dad! We had a great time hanging out with you. Happy Thanksgiving!  I know it's a few days late but the post still made it up during November.  I am grateful.
