2nd Dress project
This was a fun dress to make, it took 5 hours to glue together on her, but the shots were sooo worth it! It was an awesome shoot, and we had a blast, and isn't the model just so super beautiful! I love her! click on the images to see the full photo.

Paper Dress "Fringe" project
Click on photo icon to see it larger
This dress took me three whole days to make. I did it through conference and all day last Friday. Yesterday I glued each flower individually together forming it to my models body. It took three hours of her standing and allowing me to fit the dress to her, glue, pin, tuck, rearrange and form. She was awesome and so patient. We spent the next three hours shooting her indoors and (poor girl!) outdoors (it was sooo cold!) I got home at 1:30 in the morning! It was a fun project and I was really excited and happy with the results.
It's been a while since I have been excited about my photography projects for school, but I'm enjoying this one. two more dresses to come! (I just have to spend the next many many hours making and designing them!!)

Life Update
I have felt very blessed the past few weeks. I feel like the black cloud that was hanging over me and hanging in my heart has finally moved on. I feel at peace. I feel happy. I am no longer upset when others are happy, I don't begrudge them anymore. I don't know what put me in my hell pit, but I am glad I finally climbed out. (well, that's not true...I know a LITTLE of what put me there...very personal things...) anyway, I feel like me again. It's a strange feeling. As I was listening to conference this weekend, I was overwhelmed with just how "ok" I feel. For so long I was just angry and mad at everything, and I was struggling to not be annoyed with everyone. It was just some feeling I let myself start feeling, then couldn't stop. I prayed hard for months to let the darkness go, and one day, after my surgery, it just left. I felt like I had had a weight lifted off my shoulder.
I appreciated the lessons taught during conference. I loved the talk that said "Just stop" and "don't judge me just because my sins look different then yours"
I have too much in my brain right now to post a coherent post, but just wanted to jot down a few notes from my weekend. It was a great weekend. Ashton and I planted some peas, onions, lettuce and strawberries in the garden, then enjoyed just sitting together and listening to conference. I worked on my school project of making paper flowers and Aspen worked on making jewelry. Ashton enjoyed resting. I've enjoyed all the posts on conference experiences from my friends on their blogs! It's been so nice to read other peoples experiences.

Traveling
Last Wednesday through Friday I was in Los Angeles for work for Icon, I was able to spend some time with a very close friend Drea. I love being with her, she is such an awesome example to me, and I'm comfortable with her. I'm not a big talker, and she makes it comfortable to just sit in silence with her. My favorite people to be around are those I can just be me with...without having to fill awkward silences. Thanks Drea for picking me up and spending your day with me! I loved seeing you!
This was my first time having to get around somewhere outside of Utah on my own. I was very intimidated at first, but made it through. Then I got to come home and spend a little time with Aspen and Ashton on Saturday and Sunday - we had a great weekend together, Aspen had a little birthday party on Saturday at Altius Gym, and my amazing friend Michelle took care of pretty much the whole party activities for me. She knows me well enough to know I would have nothing planned, and that I would be very uncomfortable trying to make the kids have fun (LOL) so she took the initiative and made the party incredible. Aspen had a fun time, and Ashton and I both agreed that it was worth the money to rent out the place for the party. All the kids had a great time, and it was less stress on us as the parents.
Monday morning I had to fly to Vegas for some more work stuff, and I rented a car all on my own, and drove through vegas to my hotel and the stores I needed to make it to. I was so scared about doing this. I hate driving, and I can't hardly even drive around Salt Lake, so my anxiety was high, but I'm glad I had to do it because now I'm not so scared to do it the next time. Ashton drove to vegas and came to stay with me Monday night, it was so much fun and I loved having him there with me. We went to the Bellagio Buffett (Which always sounds better then it tastes...bummer) but we had a great time together, and it was nice to just have a couple hours together without any interruptions.
I got home last night, and now it's back to school and work and trying to make it through it all. Life is moving fast.
