Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

This is a picture taken last night (Wednesday) of the space between the sheds. Hm-not much space left. Its all full of snow.

This is the front porch and the snow that piled up at the front of the house. I was shoveling out for the second time in a week.

All the shoveling did no good once the wind picked up. The brick walk was cleared Saturday and full of snow by last night.

You can see the pear tree almost half way covered in snow. The wind blew and carved out the space right in the middle of the picture.

One of the perks of Tom working at a car dealership. He brought home a truck with plow and had a good time clearing the circle-something the township did only half-heartedly.

I certainly hope I don't have any more snow picture to post this winter!

The snowy day and other things

At the beginning of January the students started to learn about chemistry, the atom and its parts, etc. I had the idea of having them make a periodic table for the one wall in my classroom and this is the end result of their efforts. Unfortunately, while they were working on this project they forgot most of what they had been taught about bonding, cations and anions, oxidation numbers, Lewis structures, etc. Bang, bang, bang-that's the sound of my head hitting the wall in frustration. I decided to move on to other subjects. Not everyone finds the intricacies of the periodic table as fascinating as I do.

It snowed and snowed last night and this is what I saw when I went outside to get Tom's boots, hat and gloves out of the car this morning.
