Tarantino Day..

This day happens once every few years..Tarantino Day! Brad and I have been excited for Christmas for quite sometime so that we could go and see Django Unchained. With us not going to Portland due to us being sick, it gave us a chance to go and see it. The movie was amazing!

It has been a good day for us. We skype our families last night and opened our presents. We got some awesome stuff and we were very excited for people to open up their presents from us. We sent some Seattle love back to Utah. Besides that there really isn't too much happening our way. Its nice to have a chill day.

Holidays..

I truly think that the holidays this year are trying to kill me. Over the break that I had for Thanksgiving I wasn't feeling good at all. I even went to a dr. This is something that I don't do that often. Now that it is time to get a couple days off for Christmas, I am starting to come down with something again. The plan was that we are going to be going to Portland tonight..but that just didn't work out due to how we are feeling. Its not fun having us both be sick. It always seems that I get sick during Christmas. What is the deal with that?

Other then that life has been good around here. Nothing really to report on. Last weekend or maybe two weekends ago I guess we went to a couple of concerts. The first on that we went to was a group called 3 Inches of Blood. Their name doesn't exactly fit what they sound like. I like this venue because of the size of it. It the very back is a little elevated area with a half wall. This is perfect for me because I can see over all of the people and not have to be in a pit of any kind.

The second concert that we went to was In Flames and Lamb of God. In Flames is a group that we used to listen to in high school. Kind of a trip down memory lane :) I will say that at the second concert there was a ton of trashy people there. I don't think that I have seen that many trashy people the whole time that we have lived up here and they were all in one place! Between the couples that were making out hardcore and the guy that was about to puke behind us, there was a lot of class there.

 

We stood kind of far away from the stage because we were not wanting to get into any mosh pits. We were just about 3 rows from the end of the mosh pits. It was a brutal concert.

 

This was my view. I don't know how it happens but it seems like I am always stuck behind the tallest guy possible. It goes without fail. Can't really see it but I am wearing a Motorhead shirt that Bradley had gotten me for a present :)

I love concerts. We have tickets for a couple of them coming up in February. Can't wait! Well time to go and try to recover from these stupid colds.

Still Around..

Once again it has been a while since I have been on here. With the holiday season here it has been super busy at work and by the time I get home I am just wanting to chill. My cousin gave me some suggestions on how to get photos onto my blog and I am needing to get Brad to sit down and show me the basics with the computer. Technology is not my friend and I have a hard time figuring it out by myself.

Once I get that figured out things should go pretty smooth from there. I've got a list of blogs that I am wanting to write and stuff that I have started that are just needing to have photos added to them. I need to spend more time on this thing but I am just finally feeling like I am totally recovered from being sick and having time back again.

This weekend is a 4 day weekend for me! I am finally going to be able to get some stuff done that has been on my list of things to do for weeks. My apartment is needing some love and I have got some crafts that are calling my name. Wish that there was more time in the day to get everything done but sadly there isn't.

One thing that I am proud of is that I am almost all of the way finished with my Christmas shopping. I'm not doing anything too major but it is fun to send people some small gifts from Seattle. Sounds like there is a possibility that we are going to be heading down to Portland for Christmas this year again. It is all depending if Bradley can get the day after Christmas. Personally I don't want to have another drive like we did last year. It got us home way to late..but I would totally do it again if that was the only option. I don't think that we left Portland until 11 pm or later. The fog was so bad that we couldn't drive that fast and it seemed to take a couple extra hours to drive home. But in the end it was fun to hang out with the Fishers.

Off to a great weekend! Hope that I can get everything finished that I have on my list of things to do :)

What To Do..

I have been sick for the past week. It was to the point that I called in 3 times. I don't even know if I have called in that many times in the whole 8 years that I have worked there let alone 3 days in a row. It even got to the point that I went to the dr. This is another thing that I NEVER do. Finally a week later and I am starting to feel a ton better. My voice isn't all that way back yet but I will take that over everything else. Last night was my first chance to take the cough meds that were prescribed to me and I was actually able to sleep. Brad was impressed that I didn't cough in my sleep!

As I had my days off from work I thought that I would at least be able to get my blog up to date. That is something that I am majorly needing to do. I have a couple of outings that I would like to post about that happened in the summer. For the most part though I am caught up to where we are in life. But I have ran into a major problem with my blog and I am trying my best to come up with a solution on what to do.

I have ran out of free space to store photos on blogger. I am currently waiting for Brad to help me come up with a solution on what we can do about that. I am not wanting to pay to have them store photos on the internet for me. I only started this blog to keep in touch with family that is out of state, not to make money off if it like a lot of people do. I don't think that it is on Brad's list of important things to do though and I believe that he has forgotten all about it. I will have to give him a friendly reminder.

I know that one thing that I want to do is to print out my blog and make a book with it. Maybe it is just about time to do that..I don't know. We will have to see what the outcome is going to be. Just so you all know though I will not be stopping this. I like to keep everyone up to date and it is a good way to remind me of all of the fun things that we have been doing. Maybe my next couple of blogs will be ones like this where I have a bunch of writing. If that is the case I am sorry there are not going to be pretty pictures to look at :)

Dethklok..

Thanksgiving holiday has been a good one for me. It has worked out that I get 4 days off from work, something that is greatly needed after all the work that was done to get ready for Thanksgiving in the bakery. Brad has also had a couple days off with me and doesn't have to go back until tomorrow night at the school.

It has been pretty low key around our place. On Thanksgiving we did all the laundry that was starting to pile up and washed the dishes that have been waiting for us. I think that we actually used every single dish that we own :) We also have been spending a lot of time watching Netflix. We have has a list of movies that we have been wanting to see for a long time (in some cases years) and it has been a great excuse to do so. I have started a new crochet project even!

Last night we were just hanging out nothing out of the norm when Brad got a text from a friend asking if he was going to the Dethklok concert. He replied "no :(" and that was soon followed by a "I can get you on the list." Well that was a hard decision. It was a concert that we joked about going to but it was too much money and never got around to getting a ticket. Its great to have a friend in powerful places.

She sent us a picture of the line up and that is when we decided that we needed to head out. This is was our first time going to the Showbox SODO and I will say that it isn't as good as the Showbox at the Market but it was fun see friends again. The first band that we saw there was absolutely horrible. I think that they were called All That Remains, or something like that. Brad and I were on the same page and we were bored. We went and looked at the merch booth..everything was too over priced..and then we decided we would go visit a friend that was outside. She runs that hotdog stand. That is where we got our dinner :) You know it wasn't a good band when you can't hear them outside the building while they are playing!

Once 9:30 came around it was time for the band that we had been waiting for to come on stage. They are a metal band called Dethklok for the show Metalocalypse. It isn't my favorite show but Brad loves it. I think that it is something more personal that he can relate to being a metal head back in the day. We wondered around the venue until we were able to find a spot where we could hear the music. We were behind the sound board so that I didn't get smashed. I think that every drunk wierdo talked to me there. Brad had to keep leaning over to me to see what they had said. It was kind of funny.

How this show worked is that the band was on stage playing the music but there were TVs everywhere that were playing the cartoon synced with the show, it was also playing behind the band. It was much cooler then what I can describe here. It was a lot of fun :)

This was a perfect way to spend a night. With our friends that work there we get to go to bunch of metal concerts. Brad is her one friend that benefits the most because of the similar interest in music.

Brad's SAM Show Update..

When my little brother came out to visit in July it just so happened that he came on the day that Brad's show's opening. I have done a previous post about it in July. It just so happened that Brad and I went down town and walked past the window so that we could see it one more time before it was taken down and we were greeted with this surprise..

 

They had switched the artwork that was in the window. Exciting!!!

It was a Sunday and it wasn't open so we could go in to see what was up with the change.  Brad sent an email and this is what we learned. The piece that they had in the window had rented and the other two pieces had also been rented and were getting ready to be sent out. What a great feeling to know that someone loved Brad's art enough to rent it and hopefully that means that they will decide that they are needing to add it to their collection. What a very proud moment!

Life is really good! Very excited for all of the opportunities that we have been given. Can't wait to see where we are going to be going from here. It has been fun watching Brad sent up his art studio in our apartment and I love what he has been coming up with. I will keep you posted on more art stuff as it comes up!

Alki Beach..

There has been one place that Bradley and I have been wanting to go since we have moved out here. Everyone told us that we needed to go to Alki Beach. It is in West Seattle and really out of the way from where we live. While Jeff was here we decided that this was somewhere we should finally go and check out.

The view was amazing. I was cool to see the city from a different view point.

At this monument it had a rock from the east coast from where the pilgrims had landed..

Later on this night was the Seahawk/Packer game. I think that Brad and Jeff had a good time even thought Jeff's team lost.  This game was one for the record book. Sounds like there was a couple really bad calls by the refs and the Packers lost at the last second. Brad said he didn't even know what happened at the end besides Jeff yelling really loud. I can't really imagine him at a football game.

It was a lot of fun having Jeff out here for the weekend to visit. Hope that he had a good time coming out here but I know that he was missing his little girls. Can't wait for the next time that he is able to come and visit..this time he needs to have Jennie also come with him :)

Locks..

The other thing that Jeff wanted to do while he was out here was to go check out the Chittenden Locks. This is located over in Ballard. It was the perfect outing to go do. I just wanted to point out that Brad's shirt is the one that we got at the concert :)

There was a little rose garden that was there. Jeff has a couple little girls that would just love to be in a place like that so he had to make sure that he took pictures to share :)

This is a picture of where you can view the fish using the ladder. There is the 5 windows that you can look through to see the fishes. This time around there wasn't as many fish as there was in July. It wasn't migration season. 

 Watching the fish made me want to go home and cook so yummy salmon..

 

Its crazy to see them fight the current to swim up stream.

Where I am standing here looking at that water is the same water that you see through the windows. Every once in a while you will see a fish jump out of the water. I like when that happens..

I just want to say that it was colder outside then what we were dressed for. It was a fun chill outing to do. This is what Jeff was needing to do so that he could save up his energy to go to the game. 

Birthday Concert..

Brad and I had concert tickets to go to a metal show the night of his birthday. The plan was going to be that Brad would meet up with some friends and I would hang out with Jeff. Due to the fact that he felt like crap and just wanted to sleep, I was able to go to the concert.

We have a friend that works at a local venue and is able to get us on the house list. She is a metal head like Brad so she will just puts him on a ton of lists as she sees good concerts coming into town. The concert that we went and saw was Accept and Kreator. We didn't know either band so we youtube them. Accept sounded like they were going to be cheesy 80's metal and the second, Kreator, was going to be the more hardcore. We were surprised by Accept and disappointed in Kreator.

 

With the birthday money my mom sent Brad he was able to get us Accept concert tee shirts. It was a awesome concert! Brad went into Al's to see if he could find one of their CDs. He was not able to find one be he is now a proud owner of one of their records :) I love going to concerts!

Brad's Birthday..

We had a fun packed day for the celebration of Bradley :) We went to the Boeing Museum of Flight. This is somewhere we have been wanting to go back to in the day light to explore some more. We were able to go out to the field outside that had planes (this was closed the last time that we were there.) They are currently working on another part of the museum that is going to do with more of space shuttles, that means that we are going to have to go back..dang.

There isn't really any good photos of me from here. I was too busy with the camera and forgot to share. These next two photos are of the birthday boy in a tee shirt that I got him.

 

He is always making faces at me when I take his photo. I think he does it to get a reaction out of me. I always yell at him for it!

This is a photo of an actual poster that they had in the wear house where they were making planes. This was for the women that were building planes while the men were at war. It makes me laugh to look at it.

The next part of the museum that we went to was the outside portion of it. This is where you were able to tour some of the actual planes. There has been some major improvements when it comes to plane development.

 

This plane was huge! I so wish that it was open to walk inside. Crazy to think that there are two layers inside of it and that it used to fly!

They had the Air Force One that Kennedy and Nixon used. There were a couple other Presidents that also used it but I am drawing a blank on who they are at this time.

Last of all we walked around the planes that are outside the building. This next picture is one that Brad has been wanting to take a photo of for a long time..

 

I feel the need..... the need for speed.

By the time that we left here,  Jeff wasn't feeling all that great at all. The day that he came up he was starting to come down with a cold and it was starting to act up more. There was just one more place that I wanted to take him before we went home to hang out. When him and his wife Jennie came up here to help us move she had read about the the giant hat and boot. We were not able to make it over there while we were there. Because we were in the neighborhood it would have been a shame to miss it again. He told me that his wife was going to be angry with him when he got home.

  

 

All and all it was a good day to hang out.
