Zoo trip

The train ride is a must at the zoo! Dallin doesn't quite love it yet; it's a little scary.

Feeding the lorikeets has become our new favorite thing to do at the zoo. Owen got braver this time and let one sit on his shoulder for just a minute before begging for me to get it off.

Dallin was very impressed with the lorikeets! They got a big "oooooh" from him.

He didn't quite understand why they were following him at first.

Still a little confused! Doesn't it like he is thinking, "What do you want from me?"

He is starting to get the hang of it now. The fear is melting away a little.

Now he is totally into the fun! No fear left!

By this time, he is so comfortable with the lorikeets that he can sit down right next to them and not pay a bit of attention to them. He was more interested in the food; probably wondering if it was something he would like :)

Dallin went crazy over the goats! He kept saying "ooooh" and pointing at them. He walked to each one checking them all out and shrieking the whole way. It was hilarious!

I love that he was not afraid of them. He loves animals, but he thinks all animals bark like a dog. I know what you are thinking; we had a little problem with proper animal identification with Owen a while back. I promise it's not my fault!

Brothers

My sweet boys! They have become closer friends now that Trenton and Ashleigh are away at school each day. Their favorite game together is chase. Owen chases Dallin around the dining room table while Dallin giggles.

Dallin loves to empty my kitchen cabinets for me. I found him this week sitting inside one of my pots, which I thought was absolutely hilarious.

Of course Owen had to get in on the fun once he figured out what all the laughter was about!

Dallin's bottom molars were working on him hard that day. He soaked through two shirts because he was drooling non-stop. Poor baby! I can't wait for them to finally cut through...we're still waiting! Poor Dallin has been my worst teether.

16 months!

Dallin loves the outdoors! He brings me his shoes whenever the word "outside" is mentioned. He enjoys throwing golf balls down the driveway, pushing his lawnmower, and driving his red car. He is growing up so fast! His sweet smile reminds me of Ashleigh's big smile, which makes me happy. His whole face lights up when he smiles, but he can quickly turn on the tears when things don't go his way.

Golf balls and his car...his favorite! That old car has had a lot of love and has been a favorite for all four of them.

Labor Day camping

Nathan's boss invited us to his campground for some outdoor fun on Labor Day this year. The kids loved driving the golf carts all afternoon. I am happy to say that no one fell out during all the craziness although Ashleigh came close once. It was a perfect start to fall with nice cool weather, pumpkin cake, and white chili. Ask Nathan about the blueberry hamburgers!

She's a little young for you Trenton :)

When they weren't fishing, driving go-carts, or making smores, the kids had fun playing kickball. Owen was the designated pitcher for his team and he did a terrific job!
