Shelby County Homecoming Parade

Kaylee got to participate in the Shelby County Homecoming parade with her dance team.  I took a few minutes away from work and went to their school to watch.  I went to Kaylee's float to speak to her and when I first walked up to the float, I couldn't find her.  I was expecting her to have on a white shirt which is one reason I couldn't find her, but then when I got close, I was still having a hard time finding her.  All of the girls had on dance makeup!  I walked up to who I thought was Kaylee and hesitantly said Kaylee - and she smiled that toothless smile and I knew it was her!  My goodness my baby girl looks grown.

She had so much fun in the parade!  I got to watch with Troy's class and has her trailer came by, she had the prettiest smile.  She told me after the parade that they got to dance on the float.

I never got Kaylee's dance pictures made in the spring so she and I took an afternoon to go get them made.  I am so blessed to have such a beautiful daughter! I love every tiny detail about her!

We also found out this week that she was invited to join the travel dance team.  She will be on the Starshine team.  It's the youngest team at the studio.

Fair

The kids LOVE the fair.  I love that we can take them to the fair.  I'm realizing my age though - I don't love the rides like I once did.  I never thought I would say that!

We rode the free fall first - Brian was even brave enough to ride and convinced Troy to ride it.  Whew!  It was scarier than I remembered from last year!  I love seeing the kids face as they ride the rides.  They are really getting too big to ride the kiddie rides, and that makes me sad.

Right before we left, Brian convinced Kaylee to ride the freefall again.  Her face was priceless.  I got a video of it, but you can't really see her facial expression.  Her eyes were wide open and a lot of surprise was on her face! 

Kaylee's birthday

We celebrated Kaylee's 7th birthday with breakfast at Bama Burgers.   She is a momma's girl and stayed right by me at breakfast.  She got lots of fun gifts; money, a diy blanket, diy scarves, Rescue Runt, Pizza Maker Barbie, playdough ice cream shop, doodle kit, and a tie dye set.  When we got home that afternoon, she played with every single toy except the tie dye kit and that's only because I wouldn't let her.

I have loved watching her grow and it amazes me that she is 7.  I look at her and she is so much like me, yet she is nothing like me.  I see so many good qualities in her that I wish I had!  She is independent, smart, persistant and she loves dance and baton.  I'm so proud of the little girl she is and I wish I could keep her little forever, yet I also look forward to continuing to watch her grow.  It seems like yesterday that she was my baby and now she's not a baby anymore.

We gave her our gift Sunday morning.  It was a pink real sewing maching with a kitty set to sew. She loves to do things her momma loves to do.
