Caden's "Lego Movie" Birthday Party
I can't believe my little guy is 5 yrs old now. Soon he will be going to Kindergarten. All my kids LOVE legos, so having a lego party was just what he wanted. I have to admit, I really love planning my kids birthday parties.
Here's what I made for the party....Yes...that is indeed the Kragle (Super Glue) I was pleasantly surprised how that turned out. The pinata was made to look like "Mr. Businessman's" head. The goody bags (that looked like legos) had a coloring book, crayons, lego marshmallow head, and lego candies in them, plus they had the pinata candy.
I knew that I wanted him to get all the lego movie characters on his cake, so I bought the cheapest set with Emmett, Wildstyle, and the bad robot. Then I scored some single mini figures for Mr Business and Bad cop. My husband had the idea to write Happy Bday Caden with legos (yes, we did wash all of them before we put them on the cake) :)

My sweet Kali grabbed some empty milk cartons from school, so with a little duct tape...they were now the Piece of Resistance (the cap to the super glue).
Now for the party....first Emmett was a construction man, so I gave each one of the boys a base with wheels, and they got to build their own car and race it down an inclined table...most of the boys got really into this.
Next, my girls hid each piece of resistance throughout the house and they boys had to find their number...they tried to hide the older boys ones a little harder. And then the resistance was taped to their backs!
Once they found their piece, they had to race through our set up obstacle course and place the cap on the Kragle in order to save the world from being super glued.

Since they capped the Kragle, they beat Mr. Business, so they got to knock him down in the form of a pinata. I hot glued and taped up an empty cereal box. My husband didn't think the boys could break it, so we didn't let them use a blindfold. Sure enough, it lasted through all 9 kids before it finally broke. (I had prebagged all the candy, so everyone got the same amount.)
Finally, the boys came in for some cake and ice cream, then opened presents! Something funny about the candles...right before the party we realized we only had 4 candles left, so we wrapped a big candle with a yellow plate...and viola...it was a lego head and now he has 5 candles!
He loved his birthday party! And...I love that SMILE of his!
